To be real, the slot mentioned up to Tier 9-A from the start. Besides, there are several versions of Deathstroke at 9-A. Besides Young Justice and the Arrowverse, there's also the DC animated films and Arkham series to go by. Just like besides the Raimi films' Spidey, there's also the Amazing Spider-Man films and Into the Spider-Verse, @comic_book_fan. Also, why not cite several versions of a character within a match, as long as you mention each version separately and don't combine and conflate each versions' feats? That's what I would do, anyway.

Macbeth was, like her, over a millennia old, and therefore very lonely between his long life and stewing over vengeance, and as I mentioned, she had help in that scheme from a very cunning Thailog. Scrooge, however, is very watchful and stingy with his money, and never really worries about lonliness whether he has family around him or not. Also, Demona's on her own in this one.
-
Hah, I always wanted to make a match with these two, and that's part of the reason I added them both way back when. That being the case, I'm undecided on this ATM.
-
Thing with Demona is, while she's spent a millennia gathering her wealth, she never became nearly as comically rich as Scrooge did in a matter of decades, and she's never really managed to swindle anyone out of money without an accomplice, at least as far as we know. Scrooge is also notoriously stingy with making loans, business deals, etc., and immediately get suspicious at even a whiff of anyone attempting to cheat him out of his money. Meanwhile, while Mim likely wouldn't actually do any better at cheating Scrooge out of the million dollars, she'd just use her magic to up and take it. Of course, Scrooge would chase Mim to the ends of the earth to get it back, but at least Mim would've actually acquired the money.

Someone that's only recently been in commercials for the first time since the '90's? Mario's consistently been in the public eye, and for many products.

Match 17455 Maki Genryusai vs. Mai Shiranui
DSkillz replied to JohnnyChany's topic in CBUB Rated Matches
Another good set-up, Johnny. Good update on what some of the ninjas are up to. As for the match, this battle of the kunoichis could be a pretty tough one. Maki's a bit more street tough and quicker, but Mai has her powerful projectile attacks and more ninja tricks at her disposal. I think Mai would probably eke this one out due to her Soul Edge-induced aggression and more expansive ninjustu techniques, but the others would likely step in before either lady got seriously hurt. -
That being the case for you, I'm not so sure Noid would have the better synergy here. He's only really been attached to foods from the Domino's brand and has a nerdy, almost alien appearance. Mario, however, has been associated with any number of food products and has also had a variety of looks.

12:5 - Ronald McDonald vs. Dig 'em Frog
DSkillz replied to UMPIRE's topic in CBUB Season Draft Matches
Even though McDonald's hasn't used Ronald much in ads recently, he's still a bigger name and used more frequently than Dig 'em. I like the clown's odds here. -
12:5 - The Living Dead vs. French Musketeers
DSkillz replied to UMPIRE's topic in CBUB Season Draft Matches
Hiding throughout the arena would actually work in the French Musketeers' favor, but they may not even need to do so. Assuming both sides are in equal numbers, the muskteers could kill off the zombies, and if any of their own gets infected in the process, the musketeers would just have to kill them off as well. -
Mario is also much bigger of a mascot name and much more of a consistent and prominent presence in pop culture. The recent Domino ads that feature Noid are literally the first new appearances I've seen him make in almost 30 years.
-
Heh, this would actually make a pretty entertaining Disney Afternoon crossover. But yeah, while Demona can be cunning when she wants, she also has a very short fuse. I could see Scrooge's antics eventually causing her to fly off the handle before she gets far. Meanwhile, Mim could probably pull off something similar to Higitus Figitus with Scrooge's money:

The reason I went with a fairly-unconventional mascot pick in Mario is that he does more than just star in and sell video games. He's also featured in clothing, linen, household utensils, toys, and other products. For example, can he sell food? I think so. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Kellogg-s-Super-Mario-Breakfast-Cereal-Marshmallow-8-4-oz/545139362 https://www.japancandystore.com/nobel-super-mario-gummies https://www.frysfood.com/p/campbell-s-spaghettios-meatballs-super-mario-shaped-pasta-with-meatballs/0005100023315

Heh, the defending champ is always the biggest target. 😛 I think I'm cool with that.

Point is moot now, but ... Think what you want, but I've seen the word "arena" used both ways, and the "building" definition is used more that you'd apparently think. I'll be sure to bring this point up in every match I see the arena terrain is used, whether my pick draws it again or not. I seriously doubt the cowboys would be randomly bringing cattle to a battlefield anyway. Both cows and bulls are notoriously too passive and aggresive, respectively, to be effectively used in combat.

12:4 - Magica De Spell vs. Lord Dominator
DSkillz replied to UMPIRE's topic in CBUB Season Draft Matches
Magica De Spell was long overdue to be added to CBUB. Too bad she might be overmatched in her debut. -
Honestly, tear gas would probably drop them both quickly enough. With all the mayhem that's occurred at Arkham, it's hard to imagine the guards wouldn't have some gas bombs handy. Still, Rhino might last a little longer before dropping.

Match 17444 Donatello (Mirage) vs. Goro Daimon
DSkillz replied to RakaiThwei's topic in CBUB Rated Matches
Sorry about not getting to this match earlier, Rakai. I had every intention of posting yesterday, but my internet was out from last night up until about a couple of hours ago. Anyways, great set-up as always. I've read that Shingo is lacking in experience, both in combat and with ki attacks, and is a bit clumsy. If all of this is true, then you might've gotten him down to a T. Very good recap with him and the more experienced Michelangelo. As for this match? Donnie might have his hands full here. Goro seems to be as strong or maybe stronger than foes even Donnie's faced, and he may not have as exploitable of a weakness as, say, the Golem. Maybe Donnie could strike as some nerve points and use his gadgets and ninjustu stealth to get an edge? -
12:4 - RMS Poseidon vs. Alexa "Lex" Woods
DSkillz replied to UMPIRE's topic in CBUB Season Draft Matches
As someone who's seen both 2006's Poseidon and a good chunk of 1972's The Poseidon Adventure, I can tell you right off the bat that surviving the travails of either film is generally not a one-person job. Not sure I like Alexa's odds here. -
Man, RL stuffs held me up for a long time, lol Bruh, if the cowboys get to usher in an entire stampede of cattle, then the Equalists get their mecha tanks, fighter jets, and blimps. 😛 But then both sides would have to leave the arena to continue fighting. Speaking of: That's not necessarily so. An arena can also be the building that contains the battlefield/playing field, etc. Not only does the broader definition of arena also make sense, it would allow for more options for both teams (as well as any other teams that draw the same terrain) than just fighting in an open, featureless space. In this case, both the cowboys and the Equalists could take cover in spots throughout the building and wait for opportunities to strike. The cowboys could use the area to hide away from and seek out Equalists to gun down. The Equalists are better at stealth and guerrila tactics, though.

Max's natural skill is driving, but I'm pretty sure Warworld's average means of transportation is going to be more advanced than what Max is accustomed to. Also, if Max ran into a situation where he had to fight, he might be in trouble. It's pretty certain that the average trainee on Mongul's turf is gonna tougher and perhaps even more ruthless than the dystopian-era gangs Max has dealt with.
-
Thing is, the type of cowboy you're referencing would be at or near the level of the figures I've mentioned. If we're literally going to be using the very best from each Cannon Fodder (or the equivalent to such), we may as well let, say, the Foot Clan use the Foot Elite. That's a pretty large and wide-open arena, though. The Equalists would be running and tumbling around and using gas and smoke as cover, and the further away a portion of them get, the less accurate the cowboys' shots would be. I'm looking more at the seating area and tunneyways around the main battlefield. It was never said that either party couldn't leave the battlefield to fight, and that would definitely be a tactic a team such as the Equalists would employ.
-
Just love how you're assuming every cowboy is going to be a pinpoint-accurate quick draw. Fact of the matter is, most cowboys have historically been ranch hands who round up horses and cattle and not so practiced at sharpshooting. Handguns are also notoriously inaccurate for such quick-draw feats. https://www.cracked.com/article_18487_6-ridiculous-history-myths-you-probably-think-are-true.html If we're going to assume every cowboy is going to be as good on-the-draw as the Lone Ranger, Shane, or "Maddog" Tannen, we might as well also let the Equalists have their mecha tanks and fighter planes. Meanwhile, unlike the cowboys, the Equalists are a well-organized unit. While the cowboys may initially be able to knock off a few Equalists, the remaining members would then retreat into the hallways and among the seats, etc., and await opportunities to pick the less-organized cowboys off one-by-one.
-
Ah, but the Equalists are a well-oiled machine as a unit and very well-trained in stealth and military-esque tactics. They're not shy about using gas bombs to cover their tracks, and have also used disguises to hide themselves in a crowd. It wouldn't really be out of the Equalists' capability to hide out in the arena, throw some gas bombs to aid their cover, then use such methods as ensnare the cowboys in bolas and incapacitate them with chi-blocking strikes or their electrified gloves. Cowboys are good, but I seriously doubt they're as coordinated as a group as the Equalists have shown to be.
-
Ah, the CBUB debut of the Equalists. The Equalists are pretty formidable and with a diverse skillset, which they'd have to be take on strong benders. Case in point, the average Equalist is skilled in chi-blocking, as Korra and Mako find out the hard way: They also thrive on the element of surprise to ambush their opponents, like when they invaded the pro-bending arena, managing to ambush and put Tenzin, Lin and her metalbending police force, and the Fire Ferrets long enough to wreck the place. This terrain offers the Equalists opportunity to prevail in pretty much the same way.

Unbeaten streak is still holding so far. Keeping fingers crossed for it to continue for awhile.
