  1. A tie is probably the expected result here. I couldn't even decide on who to vote for myself.
  2. I don't know, man; he's ripped through entire rosters of the JLA and JSA and survived an encounter with Superboy-Prime. One of Galactus' weaker heralds may not be up to the job.
  3. Eh, after assimilating tech from many thousands of worlds and killing 200,000 races, the Phalanx likely aren't sweating the Aliens or their tech's shields. Again, they assimilate both organic and inorganic matter, so the Aliens themselves won't really have defenses once the Phalanx actually reach them. I also seriously doubt the Aliens have tech as advanced as the likes of the Shi'ar or even 616-Earth, both of which the Phalanx would have conquered if not for the X-Men.
  4. Hmmm .. there are a few Gargoyles characters in this Draft. This reminds me that I should probably try to revive my old Gargoyles/crossover arc soon. I doubt that myself. I more or less grew up on watching Gargoyles and I remember the titular characters themselves being cautious around guns. In fact, here's roughly how an exchange went between Hudson and some security guards very early in the series: Guard (aiming rifle at Hudson and Bronx) - I don't know what you are, but I'm willing to bet you're not bulletproof. Hudson - Aye, you'd win that wager. (raises his hands in surrender) Yeah, that was more like laser fire, and Goliath was clearly hurt from a shot. Still, it may take quite a few shots to take down a Gargoyle, especially one as strong as Goliath. Joker's best bet would be to hide away among the mirrors and try to use his acid flower on Goliath (and that may be more effective anyway). Odds are also good, though, that Goliath would tear Joker limb from limb if he gets his hands on him.
  5. I don't know what Trapster can do against Shocker other than "glue" him up. Even then, Shocker could likely free himself with his gauntlets and take Trapster out with a shot.
  6. Pretty good set-up, Movie-Brat. Having Natasha make an escape was about the only route to go for the recap because that's about the only way she'd "win" a confrontation with these Cybermen. As for the match, I'm not familiar with Makkari, but since she's an Eternal, I figure there's not much, if anything, that Karai and Foot could do against her. Also, you might as well have used the Foot's profile for this match.
  7. I believe Partyman is only referring to that particular post. As for the match-up, after glancing their profiles, I think that if Kirito and Asuna can handle their virutal worlds regularly, they may have a good chance with Jumanji.
  8. I haven't seen Resurgence, but I wouldn't really call the first film's example a full conquest. IIRC, there were several major cities still standing, and none of the world or major military leaders had surrendered or been wiped out, which allowed them all to formulate retaliatory attacks once Levison's hack took effect. Meanwhile, in the animated series, the Phalanx had managed to assimilate the U.S. President and had a plan in place to assimilate the entire planet in a matter of days. In a world with more advanced tech than the Earth in the ID films and with the likes of the X-Men, Spider-Man, Iron Man, War Machine, Doctor Strange, and the Fantastic Four, it still came down to a separate, ragtag group of people who were on average smarter than Levison to save the day. If we count the comics version of the Phalanx, they are pretty formidable in their own right. They managed to lay waste to the Kree (killing off thousands of them a day at one point) and they almost conquered the Shi'ar Empire. It generally takes team-ups of several superhero factions to stop the Phalanx.
  9. Just thought about this. I'm not even so sure the Aliens would be more efficient. In the original X-Men animated series, the Phalanx had all but conquered the Earth in a matter of days. If the scientific minds of Beast, Mr. Sinister, and Forge along with rogue Phalanx Warlock's assistance and Magneto's powers hadn't intervened, the Phalanx would've succeeded.
  10. Eh, at least part of it has been luck on my end. For instance, I was pretty sure pey had annihilated me in the finals two Drafts back with his arguments and the match-ups, but he only beat me by one match in the end.
  11. Many millennia spent conquering other galaxies that have technology more advanced than our own (not to mention having advanced technology in their own right) tells me that hacking into the Aliens' systems would be child's play, at least as their systems were in the first film. Without their ships' shielding, the Aliens would no doubt be vulnerable to assimilation, and the Phalanx can assimilate organic and absorb inorganic matter. In their various intergalactic conquests, I'm not so certain that the Phalanx haven't dealt with tech at least as advanced as the Aliens'. If all else fails, though, they could simply assimilate Goldblum's character David Levison. The Phalanx could then easily keep Levison protected long enough for him to help come up with a way to defeat the Aliens. Not sure that Levison could actually come up with anything the Phalanx aren't already capable of, though.
  12. Two Sly Stallones on the same team? /match. 😛 But yeah, I'd apparently have to do research on this one. Dafuq??? What are the geneticists on in those Jurassic World films?? Gotta watch those one day.
  13. The Phalanx would have to find a way around the Alien ships' force fields (and with millennia of experience from conquering galaxies, they no doubt have the knowledge to do a simple hacking), but once they do, it's game over for the Aliens and Earth.
  14. And now I'm (and I'm sure Venom and others are, as well) picturing Lara in something akin to a loincloth. Thank you, UMPIRE. You have thus earned your 33rd like. But yeah, Lara might do pretty well here. She'd likely have to be careful in combat against the likes of Ka-Zar, though.
  15. I seriously doubt Arcade could build Murderworld to accomodate most planet-busters. But yeah, Bladam should probably win this. Firelord may even have a tough time hurting him.
  16. How did I miss seeing this match-up? Hmmm, I wonder why he's never made an appearance in an animated series? 🤔
  17. Almost forgot! New adds: Horus The popular Egyptian god of kings and the sky is finally in the Database. Earth Empire The Kuvira-run military force from The Legend of Korra is also in.
  18. Even so, Hook and his crew were still dealing with kids that liked to play and fly out in the open and a fairly that liked to do much of the same that occasionally lost her temper. The Smurfs are almost always cautiously hiding away, however, and their village is notoriously almost impossible to find. His spells often required him to find and gather ingredients to cast them, and he never actually managed to capture the whole village in the end. Meanwhile, Mim could use methods to seek the Smurfs out more easily than Gargamel could and Hook and co. couldn't. For example, she could turn into an animal that could both possibly sniff out and/or hear the Smurf and gain their trust. From there, she could pull out the aforementioned She-Smurf manuever or something akin to Merlin's enchanted dishes spell to get them off-balance enough for the capture.
  19. Huh. With the momentum Chloe had throughout this arc, I was pretty sure she'd be a finalist with Miss America. Aw, well ... Anyways, pretty good finish to your Battle Royal, broadway. This is shaping up to be a good final, and ultimately Miss America should have the combined power to come out on top.
  20. Another great set-up, Rakai. You captured just the right tone for the Raph/Nakoruru recap, with both Nakaruru applying her agility and Raph using his aggression as needed. You apparently also wrote in many of Nakoruru's moves and, if I'm not mistaken, Raph's Chest Buster from Tournament Fighters? There's actually some truth to a move like this. Birds of prey are pretty damn strong in real life. In fact, I've heard a bald eagle's dive can hit hard enough to knock a grown man off his feet. As for the match, I think Mikey can win this. As mentioned, he surely has superior fighting experience to Shingo, and the Turtles have fought and defeated more experienced and powerful KoF fighters earlier in this arc.
  21. Well, yeah. Unless it's lingerie or the like, we don't typically see a lot of famous faces model underwear in the first place. I don't know about you, but I find that mascots that could model clothing and few and far between. You're much more likely to see the brand name the mascot's pushing on the underwear itself and its packinging, and in the case of mascots, their very images printed on the same. Eh, that's more of the Sega brand itself doing the selling. I hate to say it, but I had all but completely forgot about Segata until he being used in these Drafts (sorry, Z). By herself, the Wendy mascot and icon are a generally more popular commodity.
  22. Been meaning to comment here. The Kyoshi Warriors tended to struggle with good benders, while the Dora Milaje could probably take on almost any street-level threat as a group. Suki in fact seemed to improve at an almost unnatural level by the time Sokka and Zuko freed her. She struggled against Zuko in her introductory ep, but by the time of The Boiling Rock, she's outpacing Zuko to the point that he's out of breath trying to keep up with her? I mean, Zuko trained hard himself in that same time period, but it almost seemed like Suki had a better prison training regimen than Iroh.
  23. You know, it might actually be a more effective selling strategy for a mascot to slap their name and logo onto the underwear than to model it. To that end, Wendy has the more recognizable brand and logo, so she probably has a better chance here.
  24. A good set-up here, Movie-Brat. You know, I think this is a bit improved from the last time you posted it. As for the match, I'd still say Jean takes it, and not just because she may be a bit more powerful than Chloe. With an intent to kill from jump and more actual combat experience than Chloe, Jean would likely be more precise and aggressive and keep Chloe flustered with her attacks for the win.
  25. Huh, I remember the multi-colored Heinz ketchup back in the day, too. I think we even bought a bottle of the green variety when I was a kid. Tasted just like regular ketchup, though, IIRC. The lack of actual flavor variety might be a big reason why it failed. Anyways, as mentioned, Lucky already pushes rainbow-colored edible product, so I think he might stand a better chance with this one.
