  1. Ah, another typo. I hope this isn't becoming a pattern with me. I meant the '00s.
  2. This discussion kind of reminds me of when the Justice League squared off against the Secret Society in the JL cartoon in the '90s. Clayface was almost laughably made to be able to hold his own against the likes of Superman and Martian Manhunter, though he was never shown to be anywhere near that strong in the past. Don't get me wrong; I still think the DCAU 'toons were among the greatest animated shows ever, but one thing Bruce Timm and Co. never did particular well was different scales of strength. All that said, while I don't think Blob is anywhere near as strong as Supes or MM either, he's still much stronger than Clayface. And hell, if Clayface tries to drown him in clay, Fred might even start eating him. Blob takes this.
  3. Does anybody here know offhand Vader's greatest canon feats of strength while using the Force? Sorry, it's been a while since I've seen the original Star Wars films, and I've never read the comics or seen the 'toons. I do get the feeling Vader is royally screwed without the Force against WW and possibly even with the Force. Diana has strength on par with a planet-wrecker and super-sonic speed. From what little I can remember from the films, Vader has no feats anywhere close to those levels.
  4. Gahh... bad typoes. lol I meant to say the Clan does have a chance against the Sinister Six. They've proven capable of playing it smart when it counts. Doc Ock and Kraven can be good strategists, though, when their egos don't get in the way. Vulture and Morbius could weaken the Gargoyles's ranks a bit, and Shocker's blasts would give them real trouble. And Rhino would easily be the strongest foe they've ever faced physically. But the clan's faced tough opponents before, both physical and otherwise. Plus, Xanatos has been more cunning than any of the Sinster Six, and the clan has almost always foiled his immediate plans.
  5. Decent set-up. The Gargoyles have a chance against here. Rhino would give them the most trouble, as the clan can't hope to hurt him in a head-on attack. The Gargoyles would have to play it smart here.
  6. Second Angela image submitted. Not that I think Angela will win, but I'll give her my vote, as I'm skeptical the voters will know enough about her (or research her enough) to make the final vote as close as it should be. Hopefully, my vote won't be the one that actually gets her a win. :-\
  7. Except his Adamantium skeleton won't shatter. It will protect many of his vital organs from also shattering. Still, his body will be a wreck like we've rarely seen it, and will take a long time to heal. Therefore, Sub-Zero could still win by incapacitation.
  8. Yeah, it sucks that Disney does that. I guess they're thinking we should be grateful that they still decide to show it on TV at all. A better option for catching the show, though, might be to catch it in segments on YouTube, given that one has a faster online connection than dial-up.
  9. Ah, good set-up. Sub-Zero would have to count a KO as a win here, since there's nothing he can do to kill Wolverine.
  10. Very good as usual, Rakai. Scar is going to have his toughest Gargoyle fight since Goliath. And you have Angela down just about perfect. Are you sure you've only seen the first few eps of Gargoyles? lol BTW, did you happen to read my Demona vs. Kraven fight last week?
  11. And this is how votes get so lopsided. Looking back at Bane's record here, how in the hell did he beat Solomon Grundy and The Blob?!
  12. Characters added: Erin Esurance (Let the mass submissions of soft-core images begin! ) Danger Room Sonny the Cuckoo Bird Snap, Crackle, and Pop Images added: Demona (2) The Pack Maleficent Shadowcat Huey, Dewey, and Louie The Acolytes (2) Goliath (Gargoyles) Erin Esurance Optimus Prime (3) Madam Mim Megatron (3) With Erin Esurance added and the Geico Gecko already in the database, all someone has to do is submit the AFLAC Duck and Flo from Progressive Insurance and the Insurance Wars can begin! Insurance Wars? Hmmm, sounds like a good Back Issue match...
  13. His forcefield protects him from physical and psychic attacks. And even if he puts his shield down, his helmet still protects him from psychic probes.
  14. Pretty good set-up. Magneto takes this, though. Nothing Mewtwo can do will penetrate Mag's magnetic force field.
  15. Yep, because previous to that match, the only other grade I had was the "Good" for my first match. Just something I threw together to introduce a match that hadn't been done at CBUB before. Didn't really deserve a 4.0, but it just got that one vote. Damn, the voters screwed you over. Not to be critical, but at least part of it might be the long Extraordinary CBUB'er intro. Still, it deserved at least at 3.
  16. Interesting set-up. I think Lady Deadpool's got Harley beat, though. Better fighter, better tools, and healing factor. Still, if Harley can hold her off long to get to the Joker, that might just even the odds. Hell, Lady Deadpool and "Mista J" might just like other's styles. lol
  17. Good set-up. You have Garfield down pat. Don't remember much about Dagwood except that he's a little clumsy, loves to eat, and has a hot wife in Blondie. And you have Shaggy down, too, except he says "like" in almost every sentence. As I don't quite remember enough about Dagwood, I'm sorry to say I can't vote in this one.
  18. So which incarnation of Grundy is it, Odin? A lot of people, including myself, can't vote until we know for sure.
  19. http://www.electricferret.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=9298 Going into the archives, it's a giant wall of text now. Sorry. Or are more familiar with. Yeah, I kinda figured that would come into play. As mentioned, these are just minor gripes at most.
  20. As someone's who's pretty new here at CBUB, reading through this topic has me a little concerned. Voting and grading on my second-ever match here, Demona vs. Kraven the Hunter, just wrapped up yesterday. I got a 3.3 for the set-up, a good FPA, but what might be funny about it is how the grading went. I got 4 "Good" grades, 2 "Fair", and 1 "Bad". Now, while I don't think it was exactly a masterpiece, I don't think it deserved a bad grade. And the final vote by all rights should've been closer (Kraven beat Demona, 17-7). I even wrote out part of the battle to show what each character is capable of. But these are minor gripes on my part. And another thing, if there are trolls here affecting the votes and grades, we may not want to antagonize them out in the open, at least until they're found.
  21. What about his own clone, who do anything psychically that he can?
  22. Okay, with just about 40 minutes until this match moves to the archive (and gets turned into a wall of text, lol), I just wanted to say thanks again for reading, commenting, and (hopefully) voting and rating on my second-ever match at CBUB. I hope to have another match up soon. I also plan on making a story arc that includes this set-up.
  23. Great set-up as always, Rakai. Just one thing, though; Lexington is easily the most technologically adept of the Gargoyles, and he has brandished modern weapons before, so he'd be the one most likely to take arms. If anyone is going to be weary about using guns, it would be the old Gargoyle, Hudson. With Bronx and a well-armed Lex, this could be a tough one for Scar. He'll likely win, but then Elisa, Hudson and Angela are likely somewhere close. But are the Gargoyles living in the clock tower at this point of your arc, or the castle? If they're in the castle, David Xanatos owns and lives in the tower that the castle is perched on, so he could also jump in with his Steel Clan and in full armor. Either way, it's probably gonna be a long night for the Predator.
  24. What all of you are forgetting is that Xavier and Magneto would have to get past their own doubles first. And even if they do that and aren't too exhausted to fight afterwards, Luthoriac would very likely still stomp. Brainiac wouldn't just create these doubles without knowing each of his opponents' strength and weaknesses.
  25. Good set-up as usual, Dr. Pymp(mex). I could believe Hulk on occasion interrupting a showdown to prove he's the strongest, though more often than not he just wants to be left alone. You still have to get in the habit of putting quotes around the dialog, though. Hulk is very likely stronger than Bison and Akuma combined, but they may both have the techniques to go toe to toe with the Green Goliath. In the comics, Akuma has a move called Shun Goku Satsu that can steal souls. Not sure how effective it would be on the Hulk, though, or if Akuma would even get the opportunity to use it.
