Power Girl is in the panel, and she can also move FTL. So can the likes of J'onn, Shazam (the hero, not the wizard), and others, who fought Adam at separate times. The faster characters are all engaging BA, so he's being slowed down enough for the others to join in. Doesn't change the fact that the moment Adam spots Doom, he's going to work on him at FTL speeds and planet-busting strength. Speaking of the terrain, I'm just now remembering that humans need some type of apparatus to breathe on Pandora. The moment Adam wrecks Doom's armor, Doom's gonna have another layer of danger to deal with.

Black Adam is basically being besieged by multiple heroes every step of the way during this fight, so of course at least a few of his blows are going to be blunted, misdirected, etc. He's not gonna have this problem against just one foe. Also, since the narrator in the panel is part of the group fighting Adam, he might be engaging in a bit of hyperbole.
-
Well, yeah, it's possible. Too bad for Doom that he's not going to get the chance in this scenario.
-
After looking into the issue in which this transfer happened, it looks like John had to specifically prepare and distract Billy to make it happen. https://comicvine.gamespot.com/constantine-5-stealing-thunder-a-trinity-war-inter/4000-418777/user-reviews/2200-38028/ Again, Doom's not going to get that chance to try this with Adam, since he'll be ruthlessly coming at Doom with full speed and strength.
-
My point is that Black Adam was able to rip through an entity more powerful than a number of Celestials, so he wouldn't have a hard time ripping through Doom's defenses. As for magic, there's no proof that current Adam would be affected by any magic other than that which gives him his powers.
-
Looks like you're taking this out of context. Sentry obviously wasn't going at "flight to Saturn" speed when he engaged Doom, and obviously wasn't going at him with anything resembling full strength, either. That one shot from Doom also barely slowed him down, as in this same panel Iron Man is warning Doom that Sentry will kill him. In a random, unprepped encounter, Doom's not going to get the same chance to even distract Black Adam, as Adam will come at him full-speed and at full strength. And while you bring up Doom's armor withstanding Celestials, I'll remind you again that Adam once ripped through the Spectre. As for using magic, about the only way Adam can be affected magically these days is if he utters the name "Shazam", and I seriously doubt Doom could get him to say it in the tiny fraction of a second before he gets wrecked.
-
Eh, I doubt Vic has all these functions in his armor at all times. Otherwise, the Avengers wouldn't have been able to overwhelm him like in the scan shown earlier. Also, if this Ovoid mind switch works in seconds, keep in mind that Black Adam, being FTL, can move in potentially tiny fractions of a second. So, while Doom is trying to get the mind switch going, Adam would've already taken him out. Also, even in the process of the mind switch, it's likely that Adam could resist it, since he has resisted Martian Manhunter's telepathy. From there, he could take the opportunity to take Doom out.

12:8 - The Star Wars Fanatics vs. The Foot Clan
DSkillz replied to UMPIRE's topic in CBUB Season Draft Matches
The combo of the match-up and the terrain got a giggle out of me. You have thus earned your 35th like, UMPIRE. The Fanatics get eviscerated. -
12:8 - Goliath (Gargoyles) vs. Master Chief
DSkillz replied to UMPIRE's topic in CBUB Season Draft Matches
Unless Master Chief's armor and shields can tank the likes of grenades and missiles, Goliath might have a good chance to get through them. I'm not sure Goliath could avoid/endure MC's arsenal to get to him, though. -
Take Doom's prep out of the equation, then have him go up against a ruthless, FTL, planet-busting flying brick. Then let us know what you think.
-
Thing is, pretty much all of the Avengers were holding back in that fight to some extent, as they were trying to subdue Doom, not kill him. If they were going for the kill, it's a safe bet that the location they were all in would be wrecked because it couldn't handle the power output. As I've mentioned, Bladam (who has comparable strength and speed to Sentry) would be going for the kill from jump, so Doom, his armor, etc. would be wrecked a lot sooner.

I guess it's possible that Hulk could be told right before the match that Doomsday is trying to hurt Betty Ross. If that's the case, commence "Hulk SMASH stupid Spike-head man!!!" Of course, this doesn't really affect the outcome one way or the other, but at least the fight would skip right to the entertaining part.
-
For now, all I can say about this fight is ...
-
And again, Black Adam is a literal FTL planet-buster with no compunctions on holding back. He could finish Doom before any thoughts of attacking could come to Doom's mind.
-
Thing is, Doom was using his power stealing against entities he was fully prepared for and usually weren't trying to kill him off the bat. Black Adam has neither of these problems, and he's easily fast, strong, and bloodlusted enough to wreck Doom faster than Doom can think to use those abilities. Heh, Black Adam can easily hit harder than an atomic explosion, and he'll have no compunctions on holding back to do so. He's gone toe-to-toe with Superman, who can also hit that hard, and there's never been a definitive winner between the two. Adam also tore through several superhero teams in WW III: Heh, Spectre's the spirit of Vengeance for none other than the Presence, DC's version of the omnipotent God Himself. He's several steps up from a Celestial, and yet Adam literally flew through him.
-
Thing is, Black Adam has a much higher base strength than Hulk and will go for the kill from jump. He can also go at FTL speeds, so come to think of it, Doom may not even have the chance to even think of putting up shields, using magic, etc., before Teth tears him apart.

12:8 - Richard O'Connell vs. Warworld
DSkillz replied to UMPIRE's topic in CBUB Season Draft Matches
Yeah, the average inhabitant/visitor/prisoner of Warworld is more powerful and dangerous than the mummies and thugs Rick typically faces, and don't have specific weaknesses like the entities Rick has taken on. Not to mention that Rick won't have Evie, John, Ardeth, or Alex around to help him out (not that they'd be much use on Warworld, though). Also, Rick would have a tough time figuring out Warworld's technology, so travel may also be an issue. -
Unlike other opponents Doom has faced and prepped for, Black Adam wouldn't mess around. He'd come right at Doom full force from the start, and, with both being randomly dropped onto the battlefield, Doom wouldn't have time to prep for this encounter. Just as a reminder of how terrifying Bladam can be, he once literally tore through the Spectre: Keep in mind that Spectre is generally among the last line of defense against multiversal threats. I seriously doubt Doom's shields are gonna hold up long against that. Thing is, most of Doom's magical abilities were granted to him by the Hazareth Three, and they stripped him of those abilities when he angered them. So, he may not even have his more elaborate magic in this battle.

What the hell, voters? Android 8 is not Android 17 or 18. He's just street-level. Midnighter wipes the floor with these types.

12:7 - The Invid vs. The Romulan Star Empire
DSkillz replied to UMPIRE's topic in CBUB Season Draft Matches
I think I may have given your squad the deciding vote here, leroy. -
12:7 - Alexandra Amberson vs. Danger Room
DSkillz replied to UMPIRE's topic in CBUB Season Draft Matches
Huh, no one got to this one ... I think this Alexandra chick could win this. As mentioned in previous match-ups, the Danger Room has safeguards built in to avoid killing its occupants. -
12:7 - Scar (Disney) vs. David Xanatos
DSkillz replied to UMPIRE's topic in CBUB Season Draft Matches
Xanatos has manipulated gargoyle, human, and Oberon's child alike to his elaborate whims. There's a reason he has a couple of tropes named after him. Belle may be a fairly easy target by comparison. -
Heh, did you just talk up Merc's guy?

Match 17590 Hawkeye (Kate Bishop) vs. Cybermen (Mondasian)
DSkillz replied to Movie-Brat's topic in CBUB Rated Matches
Pretty good set-up, Movie-Brat. It kinda feels like things are close to coming to a head in this arc. It might take a real powerhouse to take on all those Bishop clones. As for the match, I have a feeling Kate can handle her end of the battle if she can evade the Cybermen's attacks as she shoots. In fact, each EMP arrow might have enough of a blast radius to take out several Cybermen at a time, so Kate might likely have a few arrows left over to help the others. -
Match 17589 Raphael (Mirage) vs. Benimaru Nikaido
DSkillz replied to RakaiThwei's topic in CBUB Rated Matches
Another great set-up, Rakai. Wow, that recap was fairly brutal. Both Goro and Donatello really took it to each other, and Donnie really had to use his skill and dig deep into his bag of tricks to get the win. He'll surely be sore in the morning, lol. As for the match, Raph may have to watch himself against Benimaru's electric attacks and use of a style that seems to contrast Raph's a bit. Still, between his own aforementioned pain tolerance and being used to both chi attacks from fighters he's previously seen and faced, and knowing Donnie's own use of an electrical bo, Raph just might be able to pull this out.
