    Match 13797 MissingNo. vs. D-Reaper

    I was never meant to exist.  I was a mistake.  I might’ve gone unnoticed if I hadn’t been so useful but alas, I had my uses and o people south me out.  I am nothing, just a glitch and so the named me Missingno.

     

    I am hunted.  This time it is not by Humans who seek to use my beneficial side-effects but by another entity such as myself.  This entity is not a glitch.  No I am being hunted by the anti-glitch.  I am hunted by an unfeeling killer; its only purpose is to delete things that have gone beyond their normal parameters.  It is the reaper of data: the D-Reaper.

     

    No one knows where it came from or why it does what it does, it simply lives to destroy glitched things.   Most think it is some forgotten scrap of code the Humans programmed to stop glitches, not knowing how much they would love us. I have seen it, a gelatinous red mass slowly slithering forward like some sinister insect searching for its next meal.  It does not sleep nor does it tire.

     

    The agents of the Reaper take many shapes, birds in human machines, human-line monstrosities.  All used to combat any glitch foolish enough to fight back.  Fighting is pointless; all I can do is run.  Run and hope to find some place where the D-Reaper cannot find me but I fear that there is no such place.

     

    The only time the D-Reaper slows is to destroy a glitch.  I glitch things that I pass, that is how I have survived this long but ironically enough, the reason I live leads my would-be assailant right to me.  With every glitch it destroys it becomes smarter, stronger, and larger.

     

    I have little hope of survival except for one thing.  Humans love their glitches, the love to exploit us.  Humans do not want to see me die.  So they have begun to work on a way to disable the D-Reaper.  Rumors say that the solution will be complete in three days time.  I must survive for three days.  So I run.  I run across Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow.  I run from the D-Reaper.

    Unless Gatomon stays, well, Gatomon, this is going to become very one sided very quickly.

    Even as Gatomon she can punk all butAsh's best Pokemon.  Given Pikachu's rather incosistent showings and Gatomon punking four Champions in her forst appearance and being a rather agile kitty.  My money's n Kari to take this easy.

    Since I haven't seen Digimon in well over a decade and didn't watch all that much of it, I can't really say who wins here.

     

    I'll just say that this a great, detailed set-up and Challenge entry, Nesh.

    Thank you for the comment, it's good to know people read this. Yeah these characters are a bit more obscure than the usual fare so comments are few and far between.

    February Challenge Entry:

     

    Tai Kamiya counted out the bills in his wallet. Good, just enough for for a trip to Shinjuku from Odaiba and back. Luckily his next paycheck was coming soon and he wouldn’t have to worry about running out of money. He made his way toward the door of the apartment so he and Agumon could leave. His parents would be out for most of the day, which made things much easier…

     

    “Going to see Rika Tai?†Tai froze. Kari had caught him, and he’d so quiet too. Sometimes he really hated his luck. Oh well, there was no point in hiding it.

     

    “Yeah, I am, are you going to stop me?†he asked.

     

    “I should,†she said, “You know how our parents feel about this Tai. She’s eleven, you’re fifteen, it’s not right.†Tai rolled his eyes mockingly. He’d heard this about a billion times over the last few months and it hadn’t stopped him once. He turned away from his sister.

     

    “Let’s go Agumon,†The orange dinosaur Digimon nodded, “You know the drill, when we get into the terminal just pretend to be a stuffed animal; we’ll save on subway fare that way and I won’t have to disguise you.†Kari glared at him.

     

    “You’re really going to go. You’re going to defy our parents to see an eleven year old girl?†she asked.

     

    “You know it’s more complicated than that Kari.†Tai wasn’t lying either.

    The overseer of the four Digimon Sovereigns Fanglongmon had detected the Seven Great Demon Lords stirring in the Dark Ocean three years ago when the original eight Digidestined had returned to the Digital World to fight the Dark Masters. In order to combat this threat they had brought the main group of Digidestined from this time including a future version of T.K. and Kari and three Digimon Tamers from another dimension to help. Tai had fallen for the only female amoungst the Tamers, one Rika Nonaka over the course of the adventure and she reciprocated.

     

    Once the Demon Lords were defeated, due to the weakness of the dimensional barriers the two universes the heroes had come from had to be merged. This would’ve have been a good thing normally except that Rika wasn’t just from another universe but from the future as well; when they’d met, biologically he’d only been one year older than Rika, due to time travel, now they were four years apart in age and that carried a stigma. The original eight and their Digimon had kept their memories of the adventure, the others had theirs locked away in their minds.

     

    And so Tai had waited three years to find Rika again and tried desperately to do so, despite his friends telling him that it was pointless as she wouldn’t even remember him, even going so far as to hide it from him when they saw her to get him to move on because they didn’t think it was healthy for him to pursue her. However despite these efforts he had found Rika again, everyone involved in that adventure their memories back via various means and he was determined not to lose her again.

     

    “I could easily stop you, all I’d have to do is call Gatomon in here, she’s a Champion level; you couldn’t get past her without having Agumon digivolve and wrecking the whole apartment building.†Kari threatened.

     

    “But you’re not going to do that, are you Kari?†Tai asked.

     

    “I should,†she repeated with a sigh, “but you’re right Tai, I won’t. You’d just sneak out when no one was looking or something. You know how I feel about this but I know you care about her and how stubborn you can get. So go, I won’t tell mom and dad. I don’t want to listen to the yelling again.â€

     

    “Thanks Kari,†Tai said with a genuine smile, “I’ll be back before they get home.â€

     

    “You’d better be.†She said darkly.

     

     

    Agumon followed Tai through the streets of Tokyo. It still amazed the little Digimon how few people paid any attention to an orange lizard walking down the sidewalk. However Tokyo was a big city, no one gave you more than half a second’s glance here. Any more than that was a distraction and distraction meant trouble in crowds like this. Besides thanks to the influence of the Tamers’ universe on the merged universe he now lived in Digimon were part of a TV show. People probably just thought he was one of those weird fans who dressed up lie their favorite characters. What had Tai called them again? Cosplayers, that was it.

     

    Agumon stared at the back of his partner with concern. Tai always seemed angry these days, except when he was with Rika. He didn’t socialize with anyone else very much, except for the other two Tamers, now Digidestined, that had been on the adventure of fighting the Seven Great Demon Lords, Takato and Henry, and their friends. All of which were younger than Tai was.

     

    “Tai, I’m worried about you. I’m starting to think maybe you do spend too much time around Rika.†The Digimon said.

     

    “Et tu, Agumon?†Tai asked, not even turning to look at him.

     

    “What?†Agumon asked, not understanding what his partner had just said.

     

    “Et tu, it’s Latin, something I picked up in my Shakespeare class at school,†Tai explained, “It’s from the play Julius Caesar. It means you too, or even you, either works.â€

     

    “I miss my friends Tai, the ones I grew up with on File Island. We never see them or their partners anymore since you fond Rika, not unless there’s a big emergency.†Agumon said. He heard his partner sigh and watched is shoulders slump. Again Tai didn’t turn around but just kept walking.

     

    “I don’t like it either buddy,†he said, “but it’s the way things are. The original Digidestined, we’re all in High school now, except for T.K. and Kari who are in Middle school. This is a time in life when everyone is worried about social standing. Me being in love with an eleven year old kid of killed my social standing when it got out, it doesn’t matter that I get good grades or that I’m a good soccer payer, a was a social pariah. They’re hurt by association and chose to distance themselves from me. The only way to change things is to distance myself from Rika and I can’t do that. It’s not that I don’t want to be around them Agumon, but I had to make a choice. It was them or Rika, and I chose Rika.â€

     

    “Why did you choose Rika Tai?†Agumon asked.

     

    “Because I love her Agumon.†He answered. That answer frustrated him to no end. Love, especially in the romantic sense, was not a concept Digimon as beings understood or could ever hope to understand. Digimon were data, while they had gender like Humans, they had no sexuality or means of reproduction like Humans did. The concept of attraction was foreign to Digimon, at least natural ones, he wasn’t sure of an artificially created Digimon could be made to have such feelings.

     

    “And that love is worth not seeing your friends?†the Digimon asked.

     

    “All that and more.†Tai said.

     

    “Then that’s good enough for me Tai, I’ll support you all the way.†Agumon say.

     

    “Thanks buddy,†Tai said finally turning toward his partner with a smile on his face, “That means the world to me.

     

    Rika Nonaka sat on a bench in the park. She was happy it was a slow day here, or she’d probably be getting mobbed by rabid fans right now. She was the ‘Digimon Queen’ after all. She chucked bitterly at the title, it meant nothing to her anymore in fact being associated with it almost made her sick after her run-ins with Ken Ichijouji during his Digimon Emperor days. It was just something she’d gotten for being the best female player of a card game. A year and a half ago, that would’ve made her feel superior to others but so much had changed since then it wasn’t even funny.

     

    In that time she had acquired her own living breathing Digimon partner Renamon, found other Tamers like herself and befriended them, and teamed up with the Digidestined to save the world from the D-Reaper. Not mention acquiring memories of fighting the Seven Great Demon Lords and getting a boyfriend in one Tai Kamiya.

     

    Well, perhaps boyfriend was too strong a word. They hadn’t actually done anything yet, they hadn’t even kissed, since she was eleven and all but they both knew that was where the relationship was eventually headed. It was kind of hard to fall out of love when you’ve saved the world together twice and saved each other’s lives countless times.

     

    “Where is he?†she asked impatiently to no one in particular, looking around to see if Tai was coming. Renamon shimmered into existence behind the bench, she had some sort of unique ability that allowed her to hide herself.

     

    “Have patience Rika, Tai will be here.†The Digimon said soothingly.

     

    “I know he will, but he’s late and it’s annoying.†Rika said. Renamon chuckled softly at that.

     

    “Some things never change. Rika scowled at her partner in an almost playful manner.

     

    “Now just what is that supposed to mean?†she asked, with just the slightest bit of ice in her voice.

     

    “It means that no matter how much you go through, deep down you’re still the same Rika I first met, just as impatient and stubborn as ever. Though you have opened up to people a lot more, which is why you’re here waiting for Tai I suppose.†Rika blushed in embarrassment.

     

    “Renamon, what do you think of Tai and me?†Rika asked.

     

    “I’m not sure that I can answer that question Rika,†the Digimon said, “we Digimon don’t have such relationships as the one you and Tai eventually wish to engage in. Since such things are alien to me I can’t really have feelings or comment on it.â€

     

    “Please Renamon, as my friend I want to know you opinion.†The Human of the pair said.

     

    “Very well,†Renamon said, “I personally don’t see any problem with the two of you engaging in the type of relationship you wish. Tai is a good person who cares about you and will protect you from harm much like I would. However, as I am not Human and thus don’t have Human sensibilities I would think you would be more concerned about you families’ opinions.â€

     

    Rika sighed. It was good to know that at least Renamon supported her. Her fiends didn’t really care either way. Her family though… That was a different story. Her mother was a famous model. Who’d married young and well, had Rika. Her father had left them when she was very young and she rarely ever got to see him. Needless to say when she’d started hanging out with Tai, a boy four years older than her who had a very keen interest in her. Her mother and grandmother were less than thrilled.

     

    Rika didn’t blame them for that, it was only natural. They just didn’t want her to make the same mistakes her mother had. The problem with that was that it was different with her and Tai than it had been with her mother and father. They’d been through things together that no one but their group of friends could possibly hope to understand. Rika understood why her family was worried about this, but she and Tai had a very strong bond, one that would be near impossible to break and it wasn’t like Tai had any intention of rushing anything. Their relationship wasn’t going away any time soon, nor was it going anywhere serious.

     

    “Well my family will just have to deal with it.†Rika declared. Renamon instinctively tensed up behind her.

     

    “Rika, someone’s coming,†the yellow fox said, and they have a Digimon.

     

    “Is it Tai?†she asked.

     

    “No,†Renamon said, “It’s Ryo.â€

     

    “Oh great,†Rika said rolling her eyes, “That’s just what I need today.†Ryo Akiyama strode up to the pair like he was calk of the walk, his partner Monodramon in his hands.

     

    “Hello Princess.†He said with a smile. His teeth were so perfect Rika was actually surprised when they didn’t glint in comical anime fashion. His smile made her want to gag.

     

    “Hi Rika, hi Renamon.†Monodramon said in voce that Rika thought was something akin to what a retarded puppy would sound like if they could speak. Hell the thing even kind of looked like a retarded puppy. Of course she thought his partner did too.

     

    “I told you to stop calling me that.†She said coldly. Rika was not a big fan of Ryo. He was the ‘Digimon King’, the only person to ever beat her in the Digimon card game. That used to really get under her skin but she’d moved past that, now Ryo just got under her skin period. He had that aloof too cool for school type attitude that made girls fawn over him and he knew it. He probably expected Rika to fawn over him, but there was about a snowball’s chance in Hell of that ever happening. She was still ticked off at him for not recognizing her when they first met up in the Digital World. Besides she was spoken for.

     

    “Sorry Rika, I didn’t mean to upset you.†he said sitting next to her.

     

    “Then you shouldn’t have come to this park.†She said, her violet eyes cold as ice.

     

    “Aw, Rika, don’t be like that,†he said in a voice that probably would’ve been charming if it A. was coming from Ryo Akiyama and B. wasn’t trying to charm her.

     

    “So what brings you to the park today. Just enjoying the fresh air?â€

     

    “I’m waiting for Tai.†She ground out and inwardly smirked at the angry look on Ryo’s face.

     

    “I… see,†he said slowly. It was no secret the two boys didn’t get along but Rika hadn’t known that when she’d fallen for Tai, it was just a nice bonus, “Since he's not here how about you and I do something?â€

     

    “Here’s what we’ll do,†Rika began, “I’ll stay here and wait for Tai, and you’ll leave.â€

     

    “I don’t understand what you see in him,†Ryo said, “If it’s just that he’s an older guy I’m just as old as he is and much cooler.â€

     

    “Rika asked you to leave,†Renamon said narrowing her eyes, “If you will not do so on your own then I will make you.â€

     

    “Fine, I’ll go.†Ryo said sourly as he stood up and walked away.

     

    “Thanks Renamon.†Rika said as he got out of earshot.

     

    “What are friends for?†The Digimon asked rhetorically. The pair shared a smile and waited for a few more minutes until Tai and Agumon showed up.

     

    “You’re late Tai.†Rika growled.

     

    “Sorry, you know how the subways are.†Tai apologized.

     

    “I had to deal with Ryo because I was still waiting for you,†she relished the 'oh crap' look on Tai’s face, “You’d better make this up to me.â€

     

    “Rika I barely have enough money to get here and back-“ Tai began.

     

    “That’s not my problem is it?â€

     

    “You’re mom’s a model, why can’t you ever pay for stuff?†he grumbled.

     

    “What was that?†Rika barked.

     

    “Nothing!†Tai said quickly.

     

    “Thought so.†Rika said with a smirk.

     

    “So how bad was Ryo this time?†Agumon asked Renamon as the four of them began to walk.

     

    “Bad.†Renamon replied.

     

    “So Tai’s really in the doghouse huh?†the orange lizard asked. Tai just slumped his shoulders in defeat.

     

     

    Ryo hated this world. He wasn’t suicidal, far from it, it wasn’t life that was the problem, and it was the world itself. The word, it was all wrong. Ryo had a very complicated backstory. He’d originated in Tai’s universe, and had been repeatedly called upon and used to battle a powerful Digimon named Millenniummon who had turned out to be his Digimon partner. Their third and final battle had threatened the entire Multiverse and only ended when Monodramon forcibly merged himself with Millenniummon forming a Digi-egg. It was there having traveled throughout time, space, and dimensions, now standing at the beginning of the Digital World and thus all Digital Worlds in the Multiverse that he was presented with a choice: Go back to his native universe or go to another. Tired of being used by higher powers Ryo chose to leave his native universe behind and go to another. That universe was Rika’s. He’d spent a year there, been adopted and conquered the Digimon card game before Monodramon’s egg hatched. Unfortunately it had hatched into the difficult to control Ultimate level Cyberdramon. His temper at that level probably had something to do with having Millenniummon’s data inside him.

     

    And so Ryo had gone to the Digital World because his partner wasn’t fit to stay in the Real World. He’d spent ten months there before meeting Rika and the others. It was obvious that Rika had had a crush on him, even if she didn’t want to admit it and he thought she was cute, even if she was four years younger than him. He’d hoped to make something of it when they got home. With the help of the others he’d been able to get back home on the ark, Takato, Henry, Rika, and their Digimon had disappeared from the ark before it had arrived back on Earth.

     

    Ryo came home to a very different universe due to their fight with the Seven Great Demon Lords. For one he was elven again instead of the fourteen he should’ve been. He lived with some bizarre amalgamation of his biological and adoptive parents; the Digimon TV show was different, not having the Digidestined from his native universe in it as it once had. After having to relive his first fight with Millenniummon again Ryo finally figured out that the two universes he’d lived in had somehow merged into one and that they’d chosen 1999 as a starting year so to speak. As head lived in both his memories could not be so easily altered to consider this normal as others’ might have been and thus he remembered the way things were supposed to be.

     

    Ryo was not happy with this arrangement. Not only had he had to relive traumatic experiences but now he had to once again share a universe with people who had used him as a child soldier to defeat an enemy they couldn’t. Not only that, but now one of them was in a relationship with Rika. Well he wasn’t going to let that fly, no way in hell. It was time to fight for his girl.

     

    “Monodramon, are you up for a fight?†he asked.

     

    “Monodramon’s ready, yep yep.†The Digimon said.

     

    “Good we’re going to be having one soon.†Ryo said.

     

     

    Renamon watched as Tai and Rika walked through the park. She was Rika’s guardian, a Digimon of few words and totally devoted to her partner, as were most Digimon. The pair of Humans were currently snacking on some vanilla ice cream cones as they chatted about various things that Renamon, being a Digimon didn’t really know enough about to care about, like school. She and Agumon had hung back, still within sight of their partners but far enough away that they could feel alone.

     

    “They really do seem happy together.†Agumon said between licks of his own, chocolate, ice cream cone. She had abstained from ice cream, instead opting for an energy drink. The beverages held a special place in her heart as the first gift Rika had ever given her, and in fact the first gift she’d ever received had been an energy drink. Renamon took a sip before answering.

     

    “Yes they do,†she said, “I’m beginning to wonder if they even need us anymore Agumon. Now that they have each other we almost seem redundant.â€

     

    “Of course they need us Renamon,†Agumon reassured her, “We’re their partners, protectors, and best friends. Even if they are in ‘love’ they won’t just send us away.â€

     

    “Do you really believe that Agumon,†the yellow fox asked, “or are you just trying make feel better?†The orange lizard Digimon hung his head.

     

    “I’d like to believe what I’m saying is true but Tai’s stopped being with his Human friends so he can be with Rika. Part of me is afraid that one day we’ll be next,†Agumon admitted, “What about Rika? Is she still seeing her Human friends?â€

     

    “Yes,†Renamon answered, “She still sees them on occasion, though not as often as she used to because of the lack of Digimon coming through to this side these days.â€

     

    “Well that’s good,†Agumon said, “Tai just seems so lonely and angry when he’s not with Rika, it scares me.†Renamon’s head swiveled toward her fellow Digimon.

     

    “Do you think that Tai could be dangerous if he and Rika were to stop this relationship?†She had to know the honest answer to that question. There was always the chance that this wouldn’t work out and if Tai was going to pose a danger to her partner if that happened, she wanted to know now.

     

    “No, I don’t think he’d want to hurt Rika,†Agumon mused, “but he’d be really hurt if this doesn’t work out. What about Rika?â€

     

    “The same, only worse,†the fox Digimon said,“ Her father left her when she was very young. As far as I can tell she’s had trouble getting close to male Humans since then, it took her a long time to warm up to Takato and Henry. It says a lot about Tai that she let him in this quickly. I’m afraid if something happened to end this relationship badly she’d take it like her father leaving her again.â€

     

    "Renamon, do you ever think we’re lucky,†Agumon asked, “Being Digimon we don’t have to deal with all this romance stuff, or social standing. We can just be friends with whoever we want to be friends with, provided they want to be friends with us of course.â€

     

    “I think that every day Agumon.†She said. Suddenly her ears perked up. What was he doing here? Renamon had thought Rika had made it perfectly clear she wanted nothing to do with him. Renamon took a sniff of the air. Ultimate level, so he really wasn’t playing around. The fur on her body stood up as ever muscle in her body tensed.

     

    “Renamon, what is it?†Agumon asked with concern in his voice.

     

    “It’s Ryo,†Renamon explained, she hadn’t seen him a couple weeks since that last incident in this very park. When was he going to learn? He’d been getting bolder each time Rika shot him down. What was he planning now, “And he’s brought Cyberdramon.â€

     

    “Oh,†Agumon said, realization dawning in his eyes, “That's not good. We’d better get up there fast.†Renamon nodded and the two Digimon rushed to join their partners.

     

     

    Tai watched Ryo approach with apprehension. This didn’t look good, considering he’d Digivolved his Digimon to the ultimate level. He smiled at Rika and glared at Tai.

     

    “Hello.†He said.

     

    “What do you want Ryo?†Rika asked. He just turned to Tai.

     

    “I’m here to challenge you Tai, for Rika.†He said as Cyberdramon simply growled at them.

     

    “You’re what?†Tai asked in disbelief.

     

    “I said I’m challenging you for the right to date Rika.†Ryo repeated.

     

    “Hello, I’m right here,†Rika growled, “I’ve made my choice Ryo, move on.â€

     

    “It’s not supposed to be like this,†Ryo protested, “You two were never supposed to meet. Tai isn’t supposed to be here.â€

     

    “Says the guy who ran from his problems.†Tai muttered, trying to move past but Cyberdramon blocked his way. It was just then that Agumon and Renamon arrived.

     

    “Move Ryo or we’ll make you.†Rika threatened.

     

    “I’m not interested in fighting you Rika, just Tai.†Ryo said.

     

    “Well you’re going to get me; I’m not some prize that can be won.†Rika said but Tai stuck out a hand to halt her.

     

    “If he wants to fight me, he’ll get a fight with me,†he said, “but we’ll do this with our Digimon. Ready Agumon?†Agumon nodded and Tai held out his Digivice,

     

    “Agumon Warp Digivolve to… WarGreymon!†WarGreymon said.

     

    "Alright then, if that’s the way you want it Tai,†Ryo said, “Biomerge activate!â€

     

    “Cyberdramon Biomerge to… Justimon!†Justimon proceeded to do some cheesy posing.

     

    “WarGreymon teach that Kamen Rider rip off a lesson.†Tai ordered.

     

    So it's Wargreymon vs. Justimon, a battle to K.O.

    Match 13430 Adam Park vs. Tommy Oliver

    Adam Park trudged through the Moon Palace of Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd. The Power Ranger was the eye of a hurricane. He seemed completely calm but anything that got in his way was tossed aside with the barest of efforts. Putties, Tengas, even monsters scattered like leaves before this single unmorphed Ranger. Adam Park was on a mission and there wasn’t anything that was going to stop him.

     

    As he walked he thought about the events that had brought him to this point; it had all started… almost year ago now. He’d been just sitting in his dojo; Alpha 6 had just made lunch when he’d heard the sound of Putty Patrollers. Naturally he’d gone to help, as any ranger would. The fact that Putties were back in Angel Grove after fourteen years had disturbed him but the target of the attack had really turned his life upside-down. It was Kimberly Ann Hart, the Earth’s first Pink Ranger, having moved back to her home town after over a decade.

     

    After dealing with the Putties the pair had decided to put together a team of veteran Rangers to combat the threat. At first Adam had thought it was Thrax, Rita and Zedd’s son that the Sentinel Knight had called him into fight two years ago along with the other “Retro Rangers†when Thrax had disconnected the Overdrive Rangers from the Universal Morphing Grid. Not for the first time he wished it had been Thrax, that would’ve been so much easier.

     

    However, things were never easy for Power Rangers. It hadn’t been Thrax but a somehow resurrected Lord Zedd. Thankfully the team he’d put together had been an elite one. Other than Kimberly and himself they’d recruited Andros the Red Space Ranger, Kira Ford the Yellow Dino Thunder Ranger, and their old friend, Jason Lee Scott Earth’s first Red Ranger and equipped the team with some of the most powerful morphing powers Earth had ever seen: the Zeo powers. Trey of Triforia, the Gold Ranger had joined them later, giving the new team of Zeo Rangers access to the complete arsenal of the old team.

     

    The battle against Zedd’s forces had been difficult but it wasn’t without its upsides. Over time he and Kimberly had grown closer. The Pink Ranger had what what amounted to Posttraumatic Stress Disorder about the last time she’d faced Zedd’s forces back in 1995 and nearly died. Being the only member of the team who had been around for that incident Kimberly had turned to him to help her brush up on her fighting skills so something like that wouldn’t happen again. He’d promised her that he wouldn’t let Zedd hurt her again.

     

    He’d failed. Lord Zedd had kidnapped her. That’s why he was here, to get Kimberly back from the clutches of Lord Zedd. This was personal. Adam felt the weight in his back pocket, the weight of a box that contained an engagement ring. He was going to propose today but she’d been kidnapped last night. Adam shut his eyes tightly and took a deep breath. Over the last year they’d fallen in love. Of course something like this had to happen the night he had to propose, that was the life of a Power Ranger for you.

     

    The other Rangers were keeping the bulk of Lord Zedd’s forces busy while Adam went for Zedd himself, as he’d said, this was personal. He’d prepared for this fight, he’d been preparing for this since day one. In addition to his Zeonizer he had his Dino Buckler and Mastodon Power Coin, repaired by the Sentinel Knight two years ago, and Alpha had managed to get the Metallic Armor to work with a Dino Power Coin in place of a Ninja Power Coin and gotten it to work outside of Earth’s atmosphere. Unfortunately he couldn’t call on the Metallic Armor in conjunction with the Zeo Powers but he’d take what he could get.

     

    Finally Adam stepped into Lord Zedd’s throne room. He found Kimberly strapped to some sort of machine, he didn’t know what it was for and he didn’t care. He marched toward it with the intent of rescuing her but before he even got three steps the throne swiveled around to reveal his enemy.

     

    “Hello Tommy,†Adam said calmly. Tommy had seen better days, he’d been possessed by the evil that had been purged from Zedd by Zordon’s energy wave and the malignant presence was twisting his body and mind to match the form it had in life. More than half of Tommy’s body looked like Zedd’s now, or am I speaking to Zedd?â€

     

    “Both,†Tommy/Zedd answered, “I wasn’t expecting you Adam. I figured it would be Jason who came to rescue her. Either way, no one will stop me from having Rita’s evil spirit possess little Kimberly, and then once my love is back-“ Adam cut him off.

     

    “Tommy fight this, you don’t want to do this.†He pleaded.

     

    “Oh but I do, you see both Zedd and I have lost our true loves. I fought him at first but over time I began to see things his way. Together we can take everything we ever wanted. By the way Zedd wants to thank you Adam.†Tommy chuckled.

     

    “Thank me? For what?†The Green Ranger as afraid of the answer.

     

    “I saw the way she looks at you Adam. I can’t let you have her. It was my heartbreak that allowed Zedd to get this big a foothold. Now I’m stronger than ever and I will have what is rightfully mine!â€

     

    “So you kidnapped her because you couldn’t handle heartbreak Tommy, she doesn’t love you anymore, get over it.â€

     

    “Oh no, I would’ve kidnapped her anyway,†Tommy mused, “That was the plan since day one, to have Rita possess Kimberly and then take over the world together, you just got in the way Adam. You’d be proud though; she put up a pretty good fight before I brought her up here. Using the Dragon Power Coin in conjunction with the Zeo Powers made her quite formidable.â€

     

    “So you have the Dragon coin?†Adam asked. If he said yes then it was quite possible Adam’s plan to beat this amalgamation of Tommy and Zedd would fail. Even if he said no, it was quite possible this would fail. After all, his opponent was the man widely considered to be the greatest Ranger and one of their most powerful villains any Power Ranger had ever faced.

     

    “No, I don’t need it; I was going to let Kimberly keep it. I can defeat any of you Rangers without it.†Tommy/Zedd said. Boy was he getting arrogant, though he had pretty good reason to be confident.

     

    “Tommy I don’t want to fight you, just let Kim go and w can get you some help.†One last attaempt to save his old friend before they crossed the point of no return.

     

    “I’m afraid that won’t be possible.†Tommy/Zedd said.

     

    Well then,†Adam said, “It’s Morphin’ Time! Zeo Ranger 4: Green!†The Green Zeo Ranger prepared for one last battle.

    “Well mow, I’m glad the Zedd part of me was able to repair this,†Tommy summoned his Dino Thunder Morpher, “Dino Thunder, power up! Well we’re in each others' original colors, how ironic.†The two Rangers started each other down knowing only one of them would walk away from this.

     

    So it’s:

     

    Tommy Oliver with the powers of the Black Dino Thunder Ranger powers, possessed by Lord Zedd. He has all the power and skills of both Tommy and Zedd.

    Adam Park currently morphed as Zeo Ranger 4. He also has his Black Mastodon Powers as a backup and can access the Metallic Armor while in the form of the Black Ranger.
