  1. There's no fight - I already cast my vote anyways. But, you need to check that. I mean the science of Cryonics which theorizes you can freeze a person and resurrect them later put the temp at -320 F. The temperature in space, which will of course freeze a person solid right quick, is -455 degrees F (on average, assuming you aren't orbiting a Sun or something). So, I don't know where this -6,000,000 degrees F number is coming from. You need to Google that out and bring the link and the science back for us to see, because that's a crazy number.
  2. Not a lot of chatter on this one, huh? I dunno, seems like Tony Tiger is the more beefy Harley type.
  3. This is an interesting one. Here's my take on it. In an event where either one of these human characters show up in Monster World, they with BOTH be treated like a sudden massive outbreak of the Rona combined with Leprosy and the Monster City CDA security and hazmat team will show up and take either one of them down. Clayton has a gun? Totally doesn't matter. Monstropolis will be so freaked out by a human appearance that a fully armed CDA hazmat team will capture them. I say this match starts from a holding containment cell in Monstropolis, because that's where our contenders will be just before they are unceremoniously punted through a doorway to the Himalayas. The problem I have with Frollo is that prejudice and a sense of superiority are so firmly written into his character. He's going to have internal, personal issues that make dealing with Monsters less effective. From his hardened religious perspective he might literally be dealing with hell beasts, and I'm not sure how he processes that. Clayton is much easier for me to gauge. He's a more pragmatic character that would be more willing to deal. He's a big game hunter - the Monsters need the scream energy they get from kids. He's going to start talking about hunting bigger game. He might get someone's attention who wants to know more. I just feel Clayton is less disadvantaged in this scenario.
  4. I'm leaning Copperhead. I mean, if I was a Henchman I would steer well clear of both these clowns. But, if I was forced to choose one, I'd think that Copperhead had less chance of making me a dead Henchman.
  5. I'm not sure how to rate Fortnight island because I have never played Fortnight, have no interest in playing Fortnight and I'm only generally familiar with it's themes. What I do know is that the Terrain requirement was that non-powered human characters had to have at least a chance of survival. And since there is no objective and sound argument here which would lead me towards understanding why the terrain should win, I gotta go with Snake. I know many nerd things, but I don't know why Fortnight Island should be advantaged here.
  6. Damn, I like both these characters. I think having some range to start gives Frank more of an advantage. If they started in Red's striking range I would for sure give her the nod, but I'm thinking Frank would take it 7 out of 10 on this terrain.
  7. I really like where you went with that. That's a solid bit of reasoning. The fact is that the player picked Gotham City Police Dept., and the GCPD is filled with just as many jelly doughnut eating desk jockeys as detective or SWAT employees. The player ASSUMES they get the creme of the crop when they picked it, but we are talking about a city bureaucracy which has all kinds of non-combat types. They player should have added Gotham SWAT to the CBUB DB if that was what was intended. The fact is that it literally could just be the GCPD human resources folks on that hill vs. Bikers. I'd take the worst Bikers over GCPD HR Dept. on that hill any day.
  8. As far as I can determine, the current iteration of Moon Knight has given up his Adamantium suit for Carbonadium. Carbonadium being more flexible, but supposedly having similar durability to adamantium. In theory. I mean it's all fantastical comic book material, so why not. If we assume Carbonadium has the same freeze point as Adamantium, then it is important to note that the Freeze point of Adamaintium is NOT PROVIDED By Marvel. However, the freeze point of Vibranium is as -395.4 degrees Fahrenheit. Only the Melting point of Adamantium is given by Marvel, which is 1500 degrees Fahrenheit. OK, so all that nerd lore basically tells you that we can assume Moon Knight's kit is going to be highly cold resistant. While there is a lot of creative things one can do with ice powers, in Sub-Zero's case they always seem to be used as part of his martial arts package. I mean, he's still Tier 9 ... it's not like he's Ice Man (Bobby Drake) or something. Anyways, against a fighter that was disadvantaged by cold I would generally give Sub-Zero the nod. But since Moon Knight is both cold resistant and brings his own advantages to the table with durability, weapons strength and fighting feats I feel he may have the upper hand here. I'd give it to Moon Knight 7 times out of ten, and have to vote that way.
  9. As the season will go long, and because there are more teams, I'm thinking of changing the rounds to four days instead of three. Let me know if you have a viewpoint on that. In any case, this first round will run until Monday because I have to travel this weekend. Thanks!
  10. Hmmm? Breathing apparatus? Black Bolt flies around in space and his force field allows others to fly around in space as well. There is no "Breathing Apparatus" in this dojo.
  11. I would say, given their resources, that both probably could do it. However, as you've pointed out, Shan Yu would use his armies to siege Shrek and Fiona's castle with a frontal assault. The purpose of a castle it to stop that kind of thing, and it's not like Shrek's kingdom doesn't have it's own forces. Prince John is going to use stealthy intrigue, assassins and thieves. I see the underhanded and sneaky strategy being the superior play in this scenario.
  12. Here is a Black Bolt respect thread to consider. Terrain is Pandora Jungle night and that does not suggest they would start face to face. Black Bolt has cosmic awareness and Zod has various super senses. They probably find each other pretty quickly. Black Bolt is very fast, but Zod is faster. I'll give Zod that. However Zod is kind of a flying brick and a worse Superman whereas Black Bolt has an enormous and varied kit to use. Besides the voice, he brings a lot to the table such as matter and energy control and Energy Absorption. Here he drains Nova. But, of course, the icing on the cake is the Voice, which is said to be able to crack the moon in half. Also very intelligent and a master strategist. I'd say a better leader than Zod. I think Black Bolt would manage to get through this challenge.
  13. With all mad respect for Sarah Conner, I do not see her being able to solo LV-426. I would theorize about her possibly surviving, but it's a bridge too far for me to consider a one-woman war on the hive there.
  14. Going with Artemis. The Goddess of the Hunt brings food to the table.
  15. She has to survive 24 hours. That is what the challenge says. We know from Newt that they mostly come at night. Mostly. (Damn, why didn't I pick Newt as my survivor?) So, really Sarah just has to survive the night hours. Can she find somewhere to avoid detection? We know that Sarah is good at hiding from Terminators. Well, Newt did it, so maybe so.
  16. I like Toucan Sam here. He looks like a colorful morning type mascot with big wide awake eyes from all that "Pepsi AM" Caffine and Sugar. Toucan Sam would also probably be a great mascot for cocaine as well. As Toucan Sam says... Follow your nose!
  17. OK, so you're saying you are going to put a bunch of Star Wars nerds in armored suits and give them weapons and have them fight critters that look like they escaped Jabba's Palace? Yeah, I think those nerds might do well here.
  18. Prince John has no morals and lots of money. He's also craven, so he will act through hirelings and henchmen. I'm sure some coin spread around The Poisoned Apple tavern will attract the right kind of talent for this job.
  19. I feel like I've seen this film. Well played Umpire.
  20. The Silent Hill film is all I have to go on. Jaylah seems like a reasonable and intelligent enough character to make an attempt to figure out what is going on and solve the town's mysteries. However, she will have no frame of reference or context for all the religious viewpoints or story elements. From her viewpoint, the whole thing is probably going to seem asinine. Anyways, she has some good combat and physical skills and the intelligence, so maybe.
  21. Magpie seems to run around in black bra and panties, essentially. That's a simple and effective look for her, but it just doesn't have the same panache as wearing a pickle on your head. I think I like Condiment King here.
  22. Stormtroopers aren't portrayed as the sharpest knives in the drawer. That said, I think they have basic tactics down. Stormtroopers also don't have a giant "Z" on their chest that acts as a weak point.
  23. Dinosaurs are very different predators than zombies are. I'm sure Officer Grimes is not stupid and will quickly realize he needs to avoid the wildlife. Said wildlife is always roaming about looking for a meal, though. I'm not sure about this one.
  24. The Olympic Games was a festival dedicated to Zeus. That's a pretty good party.
