It's really well done, Treach. It's not the direction I had originally intended, but honestly, you did better than I probably would have. Nice work, sir.

I've got a character in the works. Should be ready for assessment in a week or two. Stay tuned. And no, it's not Incendia Os again.

Fair enough. Just making sure I haven't missed anything. -

Yeah, I'm back, more or less. Hopefully a good chunk of you remember me. For those of you who don't... Hi. I'm Canis. There's virtually nothing to like about me. Anyhow, I have now returned. I'll leave you to decide whether or not it's a triumphant return. Meh. Sooooo.... yeah. I've noticed the site's gone through a complete overhaul, so can somebody please 'splain to me if there's anything I need to know? That'd be greatly appreciated. -
I like to consider myself the house Godzilla expert for this site. The Big G's totally effed, but innocent buildings will die in the fight.

In the 1950's, it made sense: the monster's weakness is cold, so airlift it to Arctic. In all fairness, it was unlikely that the problems that this solution would cause could ever have been foreseen. By the late 1970's, pollution had built up enough that the polar ice had begun to melt, albeit ever so slightly. The melting was more than enough for the frozen 'Blob' as it was known, to thaw out of its icy prison and begin floating back to the land it had once terrorized... Coincidentally, that same pollution had begun to not only release monsters, but to create them as well. Only a few years prior to these events, a monster known as Hedorah was created. It terrorized Japan, but was eventually stopped with the aid of the King of the Monsters, Godzilla. However, now a new Hedorah had formed in North America, and this time, there was no Godzilla to stop it... The place: New York City. This was the site of the new Hedorah's birth, and it brought death with it. It had only been a week since the monsters appearance, and already the city's population had almost halved. The majority of the survivors had evacuated anywhere they could, however Hedorah's ability to travel on land, water, and air was killing more and more innocent deaths everyday... Hedorah surveyed the damage it had done. The humans could do nothing to stop it. Hedorah barely even realized how much death it caused. It only knew hunger. It hungered for more of the smoke and sludge it fed on. The supply had started depleting. It would have to start moving elsewhere soon... A noise in the distance caught the Smog Monster's attention. A few miles away it spied another being, some sort of gelatinous mass, moving through the desolate area. Hedorah gazed at the mass, and quickly made up its mind: whatever it was, it was alive and had to go.

Match 11210 William Wallace vs. Spider-Man (Takuya Yamashiro)
CanisMax replied to a topic in CBUB Rated Matches
I swear, this is the single greatest matchup ever conceived. Ever. -
Woah. Okay, just read this all the way through. This really needs to be a more regular thing. I very much like. The little friendship between Minerva and Crixus... dang I wish I'd thought of that. Cute.

OK, folks, it's time for another rant. The obvious choice would be all those laws concerning the Internet, but I have nothing to say that hasn't already been said. So, instead, I present you with a different complaint I've been dealing with of late: chronological confusion in video games. Let me start at the beginning. I have a buddy who is a major Legend of Zelda fanboy; nice guy, but has an unhealthy obsession with the series. He, like many other hardcore LoZ fans, has developed his own timeline for the series, since there isn't exactly a concrete one. Recently, I engaged in a discussion about his timeline (I didn't have much to add, though, having played only four games in the series). This quickly expanded into a much larger discussion about video game timelines in general. Take for example the Pokemon series. I've recently started playing Black version (the official DS version, not the earlier hack). After playing for only a few minutes, I realized how much of a victim this series is to the chronological confusion. Does this game take place in the future? The past? Is it contemporary? There are sub-games in the series (i.e. Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Colosseum, etc.) that don't seem to fit. Then, you have the re-releases of Gold and Silver: older games which at the time of their initial release were definitely the second game. But now, with the re-release, the games included elements from generations three and four. Where does that fit in? If there's any hardcore Pokemon fans out there, feel free to help me out. Then I realized: most of the games I have a problem with are Nintendo games. Heck, while we're on it, how does Mario's timeline work? His games seem almost interchangeable! Even games like Metroid that are supposed to have much more concrete timelines have issues (in Super Metroid, Zebes was destroyed. In Metroid Prime, it has inexplicably returned. Again, hardcore fans, feel free to correct me). To make matters worse, Nintendo has their Super Smash Bros. series, which features a massive crossover among random characters from their franchises. Do the characters all exist in the same time?!? That can't be; how could you have Link from Twilight Princess and Link from Wind Waker together? To confuse matters further, Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. How does that work out? Not to mention, the Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games series which combines two characters, previously thought to have existed in different worlds and places them both in modern-day earth. Ugh. I could go on forever, but I try to keep this thing short. Feel free to add folks. IRRITATION THURSDAY!!!

Quickie Christmas to New Year Character Challenge
CanisMax replied to Ivan's topic in FPL General Discussion
When's the due date for this? If it's not anytime soon, I'd like to try to throw something together. -
A while ago, I explained my absence with illness. Now, I come and blame it on my computer. See, my usual activities around here are done via my laptop. Show of hands, now, anyone got an idea why this might be a bad thing? ... Time's up. If you said something along the lines of, "you have a really crappy laptop with a history of acting ridiculous", then you'd be absolutely right. (this is the same reason I haven't done anything on DeviantArt, not that anyone cares) In other words, to be on EF, I have two options: 1). Use the family computer, or 2). Use my phone. Since my mother is a major computer hog, I'm forced to use my phone. Now, don't get me wrong, I have an iPhone, so it's not like I'm dealing with poor Internet. It's just that, well, quite frankly, I cant stand typing things out with the iPhone keyboard. Even right now, I'm having to withhold my frustration. That having been said, I'm making an early new year's resolution to try to be around here more, even if I'm risking tendinitis, or some such. There will, hopefully, be a greater involvement with the site as a whole on my part, including the continuation of the SHOWdown and yes, Marvel Man, more Irritation Thursday. In conclusion, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and have a great whatever-the-heck-else! I love you guys!

What I've Been Doing and Where I've been
CanisMax commented on CanisMax's blog entry in Philosophy of Nerdism
Heh, thanks. I appreciate that. I'm alright now (for the most part). I appreciate how supportive everyone has been during the last few months. -
Well, here I am, folks. A month's hiatus and the best you're getting is a quick blog entry. I tend to doubt many of you really noticed my absence, but I still feel the need to explain myself, since I was signed up for a couple of things. I've been pretty sick the last month. I won't bore you with the details, but suffice to say, don't ever catch anything that causes your life to come to a grinding halt. I missed a bunch of tests at school, which I had to make up, an on top of everything else, I had exams at the end of the month. This is the reason why I didn't come up with an entry forthe October character challenge. It's the reason why I haven't participated in Ellrisa's steampunk RP. It's the reason why I haven't been blogging, and it's the reason why I just have not been around at all. I'm sorry, folks. I just haven't had the energy to do much of anything around here. Sorry. Anyway, I'll do the best I can to be more active around here. Until next time, -Canis Minor

I have no clue if anyone will be able to help me on this one, but I'll ask anyway. I have a Sega Dreamcast which, up until a few months ago, has worked perfectly. Recently, however, it has stopped working. The console itself still runs, but it won't read any discs. No matter what I put in it, it will not play anything. Anyone know a way to fix this? I'd hate to have to buy MVC2 for my PS2, as I already own two copies of the game on DC. My apologies if this derails the thread.

Fine. Regular yellow, then.
-
Bob and Doug McKenzie of 'The Great White North' and 'Strange Brew' fame are now in the DB. Act accordingly.
-
Yellow. Straight yellow. I'll take that. On second thought, I want gold. Shiny. Canis wants the shiiiiinnyyyy....

It's a challenge where we have to write monster/horror/gore/violence/etc. characters AND we the winner could get this. Oh, man. I totally just geekgasmed in my pants. I'm in.

Ivan's still around. His account was accidentally deleted through a series of things no one really cares about. *ahem* He's still around. Uses a different account.

Sorry this is late. I've been very busy. ... Name: Maximus Araguna Age: 17 Appearance: Raccoon-type. Animem. Medium height, about 5'8".  Fairly unkempt and scruffy. Wears beat-up clothes. Carries a satchel. (I'll try to poste a picture later.) Bio: Max was just a child at the time of the original takeover. His father was a blacksmith. Soon after the takeover, his parents had to become thieves, a skill the raccoon-types possessed naturally. They did their best to shield him from the devastation, but it very soon became apparent to him that something was very wrong. A public uprising dulled the damage, but the worst was yet to come. This fact became more apparent than ever only a few years after the uprising. One night, his uncle Darius staggered in to his house, bleeding profusely from his side and clutching a package close to his chest. He fell to the floor. Max and his parents rushed to his aid, but it was far too late. Darius thrust the package toward Maximus, and with his dying breath, whispered, "Take the world back." Angel/Demon Eater: Demon Eater Name: Ishiyumi Appearance: Bio: The package was revealed to be a very odd-looking crossbow. The weapon did little but lay about for months. His parents were forced to resort to thievery once again, though as it is said, 'those who play with fire get burnt.' His parents were arrested. Maximus was alone in the world, a grown man by his people's standards, but alone nonetheless. He was enraged, confused... In the storm of emotions, he tore apart his parents' house. As his rage dwindled he noticed the crossbow on a table. He moved toward it. To his shock, it spoke. It told him its story. Its name was Ishiyumi. Many years ago, Ishiyumi was a bounty hunter. His drive seemed to be money, but he had a good heart. In a battle with the Demons, however he lost his life, or rather, his body. He woke up to find that his soul had become intertwined with his weapon, a crossbow. Through a series of accidents, Ishiyumi fell into the hands of Darius Araguna, and through him, Maximus. Special Skill: Hyper-Focus. In high stress situations, Max is nearly incapable of panic. While he normally seems scatterbrained and distracted, he thrives in tense situations. Special Animal Skill: Night vision Engineer Stats: Strength: 3 Dexterity: 2 Intelligence: 6+2 Will: 4+1 Charisma: 1 Perception: 4

Suddenly Canis appears. Confused and slightly annoyed, he spontaneously combusts in a glorious ball of flame. Everyone within a three mile radius is burnt to a crisp.

Just to let anyone who cares know, I've just about got my character ready. I'll post within the next couple days.
