So who have YOU added?

That's the thing, I thought MCU Valkyrie was distinct enough I could add her.

Hi Movie-Brat

I see you added "Krampus (Movie)" when we already had "Krampus" in the database.  I'm sure that you noticed that but proceeded anyway.

Now I have an issue where two players have the same character in the Fantasy Draft.

I'm kindly requesting that you please stop creating duplicates in the CBUB database.

Thanks!

The Crooked Man - appearance in the Conjuring 2 as a minor antagonist and a rumored spinoff on the way.

That's where he came from, he sort of looks like The Gentlemen from Buffy mixed with Hollows from Miss Peregrine.

Sorry. Just that I also thought the movie version was distinct enough to be added as well.

Here's an idea for you, upload a 300X300 of her, find Valkyrie's profile and add that picture so it can be swapped in and out for battles.

Wendigo: As in the actual mythical evil spirit, not the marvel characters. I'm surprised this hasn't been added yet.

DnD

Gelatinous Cube: A famous monster from DnD's lore. Even making an appearance in Onward.

StarWars

Dryden Vos: The crime lord head of 'Crimson Dawn' and main antagonist of Solo

Tobias Beckett: Young Han's opportunistic mentor.

First: I move to make a motion that Ahsoka be moved from toons to scifi. Now that she's appeared in a live action piece.

StarWars:

Taron Malicos: The dark jedi from Fallen order. Spends his free time throwing boulders and lightsabers at people.

Zygerrien Slavers: Who doesn't like killing slavers?

Lady Mechanika: An indie comic character I ran across on free comicbook day. Seemed cool enough to add.

Not just because of that but she's appeared in a lot of mediums so far and goes beyond being a toon.

Hmmm ... there are similar arguments that could be made for a good number of characters in the database. I see that even Ahsoka's creator David Filoni thinks that she should be considered a general Star Wars character.

Thing is, Ahsoka's origin and main prominence are in the Clone Wars series (where she appears in the vast majority of the episodes) and film, which are animated. I can't speak for everyone else, but it looks to me like Ahsoka is still, at the moment, an animated character.

I guess if you go by where they originate from, then yeah I can see why you'd keep her in the toon category. But you can't really go by main prominence or majority of appearance because that's harder to judge. You could make the argument that Anakin and Obi-Wan are toon characters just based on their volume of animated appearances versus any other medium they are in.

But to be fair, Star Wars is kind of unique. It has characters from all forms of medium and has characters in a bunch of different categories here on CBUB. So it's neither right nor wrong to put her somewhere else.

Star Wars is tricky, as are several other franchises in terms of approximating certain aspects.

Ahsoka is among many tricky cases as well.

Others include Asajj Ventress, Durge, and a few others.

To be honest, Star Wars even presents the same types problem we have faced with other media aspects, such as the Arrowverse, the MCU, and potentially DCU esque characters.

So...., to sum it up, I can see both sides, and I suppose I'll leave it up to you for now, as to what you'd like to do.

I've got an idea for now that I'm spitballing in my head, and on that I'll let D and the others know before long, but for now, I'm open to ideas.

I have a question. I think ive added duplicate characters over the years and regret that.

What about when it comes to a character such as Ben Solo/Kylo Ren from Star Wars?

I know that Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader are both in the database. So mostly just curious if Ben and Kylo are considered one in the same or different like Anakin and Vader

Hmm for me personally, we barely see Ben Solo as a character and have seen plenty of Anakin, so I don't think his lightside alter ego is really developed enough to justify. Just my personal opinion.

Yule Cat: An Icelandic myth of a giant housecat that eats people who wear the wrong clothes on Christmas.....

Star Wars:

Morgan Elsbeth: The Magistrate that held her own against Ahsoka (Though Ahsoka was probably going easy on her) She's also apparently from Dathomir and knows Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Small Soldiers:

Archer: Emissary of the Gorganites. Thought if Chip was in so should Archer be. Anyone need him for the upcoming fantasy draft?

I think I agree and I feel like both Anakin and Vader were distinct enough to be their own. I do not think Ben and Kylo were that distinct. I would like to see them develop his character, perhaps through his early years and training. While I do not care for the sequels (that is putting it nicely), Kylo/Ben had the only arc that I thought was decent in my opinion

...I'd best figure out what clothes to wear for the 25th then.

So...,

Geno is here now, kinda obscure Nintendo character, unless you've played Super Mario RPG, or been frequently Super Smash Bros requests, neat character though.

As well as Max Headroom, kinda before most of our times, but if anything, I'm kinda surprised he wasn't added in earlier.

Wow, is that a thing?  What a cool holiday character!

And now... the Jingle Cats.

I've been getting pretty lucky finding square images lately.

New adds:

Misfit Toys

Teddy Ruxpin

P. T. Barnum

Admittedly, I made all my recent adds in consideration for the Fantasy Draft. Once I'm finally able to upload an image editor, you're going to see me really go to town here.
