So who have YOU added?

Well, it appears EvanAlmighty more or less has Classic American literature covered with his recent additions. But Venom's recent addition of Moby Dick does give me a good idea for my next submission …

EDIT: Disregard post...Ahab's already in there.

It'd be best not to do that, Captain Ahab.

(If that's who you meant. Otherwise...forget I said anything)

Nah, Evan added him already. But you may see mine soon enough. :P

^Nah, that's not going to be my problem. I plan on making matches on most of the characters I add … eventually …

Now the Street Fighter characters i submitted were added fast. One, two days tops. I have a few other characters on the backburner, that I submitted weeks ago. I don't know who reviews submissions, but they shouldn't review their personal preferences first. The older submissions should be reviewed before the newer ones.

It's natural that the reviewers would accept familiar faces first. Would YOU drag through hundreds of entries, accepting every obscure character you see, or would you skim through the characters and submit names you know first?

Good point. Still seems like a flawed system to me though.

There is no real way to see which character was submitted when. We also don't see who submitted what.

There is little, to no bias from that point of view.

Having said that, it is much easier to check characters one is familiar with than the totally obscure one's.

I didn't know that. Are you sure about that though? My character records tell me what day and time I sent them and what day and time they were reviewed. And in the database it shows who did the research for every character. In any case, it seems like a system that needs improvement. I'll try to be patient.

Heh. First of all, there is no secret way of choosing which characters get reviewed and which one's don't. In fact, check this very low quality iPhone screenshot. This is literally what Reviewers see:

f5b7a4f1.jpg

See any name? Any trace of how long the character has been in the review bin?

No. There is no way to tell which character has been there the longest. It's literally impossible to deny a user's characters (unless we denied everything). There is no vendetta against your submissions. We just see the links, and the image.

Now, I rarely get annoyed or even mildly frustrated by comments on the Internet (the CBUB toughens a man...), but when someone implies that Reviewers, many of whom are close friends of mine, are purposely ignoring people's characters, I can't help but feel a pang of anger. Come on. We're doing the best we can here.

I hope you realize how hard the reviewers (and EF staff in general) work to keep this site running...

MARVENOTE: No need to volunteer people. Our leader, serge, isn't here to grant you Reviewer powers.

MARVENOTE-NOTE: I like being a Reviewer, and I don't think it's too much to ask to not be accused of denying certain people's submissions... <_<

We were only offering help. It's definately a tough job to do. We were just offering more hands.

It's alright.

It's just... The submissions... They-... They-...

They're endless!

Shame. I'd really like to help. No offense at all to Serge, but I think that when he comes back, it wouldn't hurt to give some of the trusted Admins some more powers to better supervise the place while he takes his annual ascension into Heaven.
