Skirmisher
Neutral site.Any other information beyond that? Do they have prep time? Can they requisition weapons/equipment/materials for the fight? Any support? What does the battlefield look like? Is it mountainous/forested/jungle/arctic/urban/alien/etc? Are there any structures in the battlefield? Any important natural terrain features? Guest Ghost Tiger
Haha well as everyone knows I can be lazy but what the heck.... Random encounter without prep time, Chief is in his Mark IV armor with a BR55 Battle Rifle and a few frag grenades. The environment is urban, but deserted and at twilight, the buildings are decrepit and old, mostly ruins. The streets are narrow and the actual ground is hilly. Old deserted vehicles are everywhere but none of them are in working condition. The fighters are on there own in a life and death situation, kill or be killed. Skirmisher
Ok, given what I read on his wiki then I'd give it 6:1 odds in favor of Midnighter. Not to sure on where Midnighters "Super Strength" fits, but the Chief is around a class 2-4+ Also I'm not too sure on his "Super Speed" as it only says "He is shown moving faster than the human and even superhuman eye", which would mean that he should be faster than the Chiefs average Bullet timing speeds. Frankly Mighnighters Healing Factor was the big reason that I gave the odds so steeply since he can "rapidly recover" from "a broken neck, broken limbs, holes through his chest, the tearing out of his back-up heart, and burning" As well, the Mk IV armour is really the worst model that the Spartans had. Being their first and oldest suit it didn't incorporate any shielding, or any capacity to store AI's, it was also slower and less powerful than the later models and lacked the auto healing function of the more recent Mk VI's. So just to clarify, did you mean Mk4 or Mk6 armour? With Mk 6 I would decrease the odds to about 5:1, still in favor of Midnighter. However these are just based on stats. The chances are that the Chief with his training as a Special opps Commando and his motion radar would have a high chance of discovering Midnighter first without being discovered in turn. This would allow him a very good chance to set up an ambush. Accounting for the terrain then I would say that the Chief would have the advantage in being able to set up this ambush. First, his faded olive coloured armour could easily blend into the shadows of the dilapidated buildings and the fact that Spartans can remain 100% motionless means that he could just fade into the scenery. Taking into account his weapon, the BR55 being a Medium to Long range weapon, he would probably take position somewhere high up, and attempt a snipe, in all likelihood retreating after his position is compromised, if the target remained alive. Frags would only be used as delaying booby-traps and/or finishing his target off. All this taken into account raises the Chiefs odds to about a 2:1 chance of winning.
