Guest Hayesmeister5651
Didn't Goku get hit by that same lightning bolt after he dodged the first time? If he could evade it, then why did it hit him afterwards? Because if he's like totally capable of evading lightning bolts, he should be able to do it again within a split moment, right? o.oHe was celebrating, and wasn't paying attention. Guest sirmethos
As a quick add-on to my last post, if DBZ doesn't follow basic laws of physics, then a power level of 197.368.421 is required to reach the speed of light, so assuming a base SS1 level as being the same as Goku when he fought Frieza on Namek, it would require at least SS3 to beat Kryptonians(though they(SS3) would do it effortlessly). Guest tomisntblue
(though they(SS3) would do it effortlessly). Nothing to do with weather or not SS3 Goku would beat Superman, but that last bit there, is the basic workings of DBZ.

Guest sirmethos
Wait. Did you just say a ssj3 beats a kryptonian? That depends on whether or not DBZ follows basics laws of physics. Try actually reading the few posts I've made in this topic. If DBZ follows basic laws of physics, then DBZ characters are not faster than light, and they have no chance against a Kryptonian. Otherwise, yes, a SS3 would beat a Kryptonian(post-crisis).

Guest force_echo
I've thought that as well, but most of the Kryptonians' speed is crazy nowadays. Superman, Steel, Supergirl and Superboy are all FTL going all out.lolwut? The last time I checked, Steel couldn't even break the sound barrier, forget the speed of light. -DBZ math-I don't understand why you think the relationship between power level and speed is completely porportional. How do you know its not a x^1/2 function? What if it follows the graph of the calculus homework I had to do yesterday and its ((sinθ*(1cosθ1)^1/2)/(sinθ+7/5))-2sinθ+2? Yes, Goku's speed as a relationship to his powerlevel could form the graph of a heart.

Strength, ki, speed, durability, etc. So, still waiting on someone to disprove their speed. As far as I am concerned they are above light speed. Again the math is there, plus the fact King Kai could track Goku's ship that was light speed, but couldn't track Goku and Frieza when they were fighting because of their speed <.<

That particular one is another 'anime' thing, if you try reading the manga, there is nothing about having trouble tracking them. As for 'disproving', you can't prove a negative. The closest thing you can do, is point out that there is absolutely no evidence/proof of them being faster than light, nor any direct statements saying they are. Regardless, instead of waiting for people to prove a negative(that they can not move faster than light), it would be much simpler to simply prove that they do move faster than light. If you can provide any kind of proof of course As I already said, them being FTL or not, depends on whether or not DBZ follows basic laws of physics. If they do, then they are not capable of moving FTL. If they don't, then they are considerably faster than light.

C.T.
Because DBZ itself is illogical and doesn't make sense, and thus math can't work with it.
Guest sirmethos
Why wouldn't the math be enough proof? It makes sense to me. The math only works if DBZ doesn't follow basic laws of physics(in which case, as I've already pointed out, SS4 would be at least, roughly, 95 thousand times the speed of light). I don't know if that is physics, but I figured I should throw that out there.
Guest victim36
Typically physics don't hold true in most situations involving characters at this level or greater. To many restrictions on what they can legitematly(sp) do.
