Guest bigballerju
Doesn't matter if she had it or not. Gohan told Videl she needed her KI to fly and she needed to learn to use her KI to do it. Hence you need KI to fly, be stronger, faster, and other stuff in DBZ.

Guest bigballerju
That means using ki is a skill, you learn how to do it. No its still a power you need to learn how to use like every other power. Once again in the Dragonball Z Universe they even refer to it as a power when they talk about power levels. So why are you still saying its not?
Nesh
No its still a power you need to learn how to use like every other power.Wouldn't that make martial arts a power too? Yo have to learn it and it's not natural?

Guest bigballerju
KI is a power and its just that in the DBZ world everyone has it. In Street Fighter, Marvel, and others thats not the case. Once again they even refer to it as power in DBZ. Just because everyone has it doesn't mean its not a power.

It is an energyy wiith in every being abd you can learn to use it like learning you to tal or walk, I suppose those are powers now?
Guest sirmethos
I'll repeat Shockwave said "no powers". Now, let's see... Superhuman Strength = a power. Superhuman speed = a power. Superhuman durability = a power. Being able to fire energy blasts = a power. Goku can have all the Ki he(or you) wants, but he still won't have any powers. My saying that his Ki has been reduced to human levels, is just a way to make it(the scenario) understandable for the slow readers.

Funny but walking and talking are regular human abilities. Its a energy which has even been said on a show is a power and is often refered that way regardless of what you believe it to be. DamagingRob
Great Scott! 8 Pages! I think Bison better institute a new law. No Goku vs. anybody from DC. Maybe even just no Goku period. DamagEdit: And now it's at 9. *Facepalm*
Guest KevinDWolf93
Wow, people really arent good at this :/. Well after looking this stuff over, theres a points I thinl need to be set straight. Feel free to argue, as it has been awhile for me. Goku's combat training- Going with 'no ki debate', Any training post DragonBall(with the possible exception of x gravity training, bit thats a debate for another time) ought to be thrown out the window debating wise. From what I remember, the only actual MA training he got was from his dad. As far as I can rest could be sorted into something ki related(kaioken, spirit bomb, etc) or manual labor(roshi making him and krillin run around with milk bottles, chasing around king kai's pets). Now I dont remember exactly how good grandpa gohan was, but Bruce learned nearly every known martial art(among other combat related skills)on earth during the 21st century, and regardless of your opinion on how 'effective' some or them in general are, he learned them from various masters to a skill level...well, that makes him batman and able to do what batman does. Guest bigballerju
Its comics Batman can master 127 martial art styles the same way Superman is as powerful as he is or the way Hulk gets more powerful as he gets angry.

Guest sirmethos
It's amusing how, instead of going with the premise of the thread(martial arts skills vs. martial arts skills), the people arguing for DBZ keep wanting to make Goku more powerful than Batman, in order to win(it seems to be the only way Goku ever wins a fight). If Goku was actually as skilled as the DBZ fans/fanboys are claiming him to be, then it should be simply to provide examples/proof.

Guest Shockwave
What part of NO POWERS DO YOU PEOPLE NOT UNDERSTAND?!?! NO FLYINGNO ENERGY BLASTSNO SUPER SPEEDNO SUPER STRENGTHNO ANY ENHANCEMENTS ONCE-SO-EVER! This is suppose to be if Goku didn't have any of his powers vs Batman if he only had the Cape and Cowel. No powers, no gadgets, no equipment. Only their fists.
Guest sirmethos
Dragonball, especially the early sagas. Any specific examples? While I do have all of the manga a few feet away from me, I can't really be arsed looking through all of them. If you can give specific examples(preferably which issue of the manga to look in), then I'd have no trouble looking them up. His fight with Cell. You mean the one where he openly admits that he wouldn't be able to beat Cell, and let's his son fight instead, due to the fact that his son is powerful enough to beat him? Not exactly a shining example of superior skill. And definitely not an example of Goku defeating an opponent through superior skills.

Does Goku have time to get used to his new "human" body as Saiyans are just narurally stronger than Humans through evolution you'd have to take away his Saiyan body to put him on truly Human levels. You''d have to render all his training past Raditz moot as it was done in greater than Earth gravity and would naturally push him past peak human. He did say that in the first place. in the title "Batman vs Goku, pure martial arts" and in the OP No powers. No prep. Just two martial arts fighters fighting martial arts.
