Guest veedub565
Well I just had to call this one, Gordon Freeman from Half-Life vs Nomad from Crysis, I'd love to find out, one on one who would win? Lets say they are fed into opposite ends of a deathmatch map, they have limited / sketchy information about each others capabilities, they both have full health, suit energy, and full complement of weapons. Here's how I think it could go downFed into opposite ends of a deathmatch map Nomad and Freeman meet in the middle, Nomad is the first to spot Freeman without being spotted himself, he goes into cloak mode, Freeman still unaware of Nomads presence continues sneaking around until wham! He’s hit in the head by a round from Nomads sniper rifle, WTF! He’s surprised to say the least, but so is Nomad, normally the sniper rifle does the trick but Gordon’s HEV suit has withstood two or three rounds from a Combine Snipers Pulse Rifle before and has no trouble resisting Nomads more conventional weapon. The HEV suit has another neat trick highlighting the direction from which the damage was received, Gordon is the first to react and whirls around, the stunned Nomad, expecting Gordon to have dropped like a stone realizes he has revealed his position but he is still quite well hidden from view in the undergrowth, he attempts to switch back to cloak mode and move position but by this point it’s hailing grenades, energy orbs, and pulse rifle rounds, Gordon, not being able to precisely locate Nomad has taken some cover himself behind a handy rock and decided to lay down a barrage of fire upon the general area. Slightly disoriented by the blasts, Nomads suit is taking heavy damage limiting it’s ability to switch to cloak mode, he’s having to dodge the tree’s that are falling down around him and compromises his cover, Gordon spots the intermittent shimmer of the faltering Nanosuit The situations too hot to stand and take another well aimed sniper shot at Gordon and for all Nomad knows it may not work second time round either. He tosses a couple of frag grenades in Gordon’s direction and lets rip with the Hurricane Minigun, while Gordon’s sheltering behind a rock Nomads suit recharges, as the minigun runs dry he switch’s to Maximum Speed mode, fast forwards around the rock, behind a tree and into cloak mode, Gordon pops out from cover.. to find nobody there. Nomad is not retreating though, He was sent into this Jungle to take out Freeman. Freeman is still searching, straining to see the giveaway shimmer of the cloaked Nanosuit and doesn’t realise Nomad has circled round and is coming up behind him, he hears a twig crack and whirls round in time to see a pair of hands materializing out of thin air. Having failed with the sniper rifle Nomad is trying a new tack. As he is lifted off his feet Gordon reaches for his trusty crowbar but it’s too late as Nomads Maximum Strength modes launches him through the air. The fall causes only minor injury, but having evicted Gordon from behind his rock Nomad resumes fire with Minigun, Gordon with no cover stands no chance even the HEV suit can’t resist this kind of punishment. . But what’s this! While the Minigun was spooling up Gordon, realizing it may be the last thing he does, has got off an unguided round from the RPG. At this close range Nomad does not have time to react, he gets off only a few rounds before receiving a direct hit from the RPG they both go down! Oh there's many ways you could write up this encounter but I thought it kinda cool that they both took each other out at the same time and went down guns blazin Seriously tho, who would win? Guest ricrery
Nomad MASSACRES Gordon with no effort. Let's see, Gordon is:A. Saved by deus ex machinaB. Very luckyC. One who relies on his weaponry more than his skill Nomad is however:A. Tactical with his suitB. SkilledC. One who beats metal aliens See, Gordon might be a fast learner but he still wins because of luck, Nomad however, is skilled, adapting, fast learning and etc. Ultimately Gordon gets out the Gauss Rifle and Nomad gets out the alien Icespitter thing (or whatever) and they both go full out. Gordon fires a blow, however Nomad has his suit set to high jumping therefor he jumps before he gets the shot off and he misses, and Nomad uses Icespitter to turn Gordon into frozen chunks of blood and ice. Fight over.
Guest veedub565
Gordons beaten his fair share of aliens too, Striders, Hunters, Gargantua's, etc The HEV suit isn't perhaps as tactical as the Nanosuit but it does seem to have stronger protection, it can withstand an RPG blast pretty much point blank without killing Gordon (but it does sustain critical damage) it also has enviromental protection and has protected Gordon from cold environments before, Hazerdous EnVironments is what it was primarily designed for, could it resist the Icespitter thing? No it can't. The Crysis aliens have superior technology to the Combine with the exception of dimensional travel, but the Combine are NOTHING without that piece. Plus who's worse? Striders or those giant walking Spiders that can take NUMEROUS hits from an advanced rocket launcher and still not be critically damaged or ones who can only take 3-6 from an old RPG? Plus the Advisors can't do crap to that spider. Gordon loses because of his inferior technology, his bad tactics and the fact he relies on LUCK to get him through fights.
