Piper and Phoebe Halliwell entered the manor dragging their dying father between them. They laid him gently on the couch.

“Don’t worry Dad, you’re going to be okay,” Piper reassured. “Paige is bringing one of the demons back right now and we’re going to find out what they did to you.”

“I believe you. I think I just want to rest for a moment,” said Victor.

“No, Dad. You have to stay with us,” pleaded Phoebe.

“I got him.” Paige’s voice echoed throughout the room. Familiar bright white lights marked her arrival as she orbed into the room holding a green demon’s arms behind his back. She shoved his face into the floor.

“What did your buddy inject him with?” demanded Paige.

“Like I would tell you, dirty witch,” replied the demon.

All three sisters glared at the demon, and then Piper and Phoebe’s eyes looked toward the ceiling as they called in unison, “Leo!”

Leo orbed into the room, just as Paige had done, with a concerned look spread across his face.

“Heal him,” said Piper.

Leo lifted his hands over Victor. They glowed, but Victor’s condition did not improve.

“It’s not working,” said Leo.

“How is that possible?” Phoebe cried in frustration.

The demon laughed. “Your whitelighter can’t save him. Your father will be lucky if he sees morning."

Paige pushed the demon’s head deeper into the floor. “I’m going to ask again. What did you evil bastards do to him?”

“Is this your idea of torture?”

“I don’t know. I could try orbing your head off your body. I’ve never done it before I’m sure it’ll work.”

The demon’s attitude quickly changed. “Ok, ok. There is a cure. It’s a special kind of water found only in a lake on Avalon.”

Piper scrunched up her face. “Avalon? Like King Arthur Avalon?”

“Do you know of any other,” replied the demon.

“Ok, Leo orb me over there and I’ll bring some back,” said Phoebe.

Piper looked skeptical. “That sounds way too easy.”

“Because it is,” said Leo sadly. “I can take you to the shores of Avalon but I can’t take you on the actual island.”

“Why not?” asked Paige.

“Don’t you dumb witches know anything,” said the demon. “Avalon is protected by the Weird Sisters, children of Oberon. And he has instructed them that no one but his children may enter the island.”

The Halliwell sisters exchanged confused glances.

“Weird Sisters huh... Book of Shadows, I’m on it,” Phoebe finally declared before exiting the room to retrieve the sacred book.

Piper’s eyes traveled from her ailing father toward her husband. “Who is this Oberon character?”

“A supremely powerful magical being that rules over Avalon. Some monsters and deities that you have read about from history are actually his children.” Leo answered.

“Is he good or evil?” Paige inquired while doing her best not to loosen her grip on the demon’s arms.

“Neither,” replied Leo. “But he is temperamental and not to be provoked.”

“How is that you three have survived this long and still know so little about the world around you?” the demon asked snidely.

“Shut up!” snapped Piper.

Phoebe raced back down the stairs with the Book of Shadows in her hands. She opened it on the table and flipped through the pages.

“Here it is. Let’s see.... centuries ago Oberon, Lord of the Third Race, exiled his children from the island of Avalon so that they may learn humility and eventually even left the island himself. Until he returns, he has put three of his daughters, Luna, Phoebe, and Seline, known in fables as the Weird Sisters, in charge of protecting the island from trespassers. Known powers of the Sisters include teleportation, size manipulation, illusion casting, flying, freezing, energy and lightning blasts, spell casting, transformative magic, and possession. The exact extent of their magical abilities are unknown so these immortal witches should be avoided at all costs..”

“We’ve heard that one before,” said Piper.

“If they’re not evil then we shouldn’t have to fight them, right?” asked Paige. “We should be able to reason with them to let us on the island briefly just so we can get the cure.”

Leo projected doubt in his expression. “I don’t know. I haven’t heard of many stories about successful and safe passage on to Avalon. I am beginning to think this whole thing was a trap to force you three into squaring off against the Weird Sisters.”

“Ding, ding, ding. Someone get the whitelighter a prize,” snarked the demon.

“Paige,” said Piper calmly. “Will you please release the demon and step away from him. We don’t need him anymore.”

“Are you sure?”

Piper nodded.

“Um..okay.” Paige released her grasp on the demon and stepped toward his sisters.

“Hey thanks. I didn’t think you....”

Before the demon could finish, Piper flicked her fingers into the air and the demon exploded into a thousand pieces.

“He was really getting on my nerves,” she huffed.

“Leo, if we have to fight them, do you think we could beat them?” Phoebe wondered.

“I don’t think so. They are unlike anything you have faced before.”

“Thanks for the confidence boost, honey,” said Piper.

Victor quietly spoke up. “May I say something here. Look girls, I know you don’t want to let me go. But if it wasn’t a demon attack, it would have been a heart attack or my high cholesterol. Perhaps it is just my time,”

Phoebe shook her head. “Dad, don’t say that.”

“Listen to me. It’s not worth you three risking your lives and dying as well. Not when you have so much good left to do.”

Piper’s voice became stern as a tear streamed down her face. “We will not just sit back and watch you die!”

Phoebe scanned the page in the Book of Shadows again. “Look here, it says like all of Oberon’s children, the Weird Sisters are vulnerable to iron. So they’re not invincible.”

“If we could round up a bunch of iron weapons, that might be something, but I don’t think we have enough time.,” said Paige. “We need to move fast, before it gets worse.”

“Well I’m going to go look around the house real quick and at least try to gather some iron things before we go,” replied Phoebe. She scurried into the kitchen.

“I still think we should try to talk to them first,” Paige insisted.

Piper nodded. “I agree, but if that doesn’t work we’re going to need all the help we can get.”

Leo shook his head back and forth slowly. “I don’t think this a good idea.”

Piper unloaded on him. “So you think we should just let our father die?”

“No, it’s just..”

Phoebe entered the room with a bunch of nails and an iron skillet. “It’s not much, but it’s something. Are we ready to go?”

Piper looked at Leo pointedly. “Yes, we are.”

“I know better then to try to dissuade you when you’ve made up your mind,” Leo said sadly. “There is a spell in the Book of Shadows that we will need to reach Avalon."

Paige flipped a few pages, found it, and copied it down. Then, Leo and the three sisters joined hands. He orbed them onto a small boat in a quiet body of water. He motioned for Paige to pull out the spell. The three sisters read aloud the Latin spell in unison as Leo rowed the boat. After they finished, mist and clouds engulfed them. When the mist dissipated, the island was already in sight.

“Hey, maybe they left,” said Phoebe.

Yet, sure enough, three silhouettes appeared in the distance. The Weird Sisters levitated above the water in front of them, their appearances beautiful, but their stares intense.

“What is your business here?” asked the black haired sister, Selene.

“Please, we only ask for momentary passage to the island to get some of its mystical water to heal a man that is dying,” Leo pleaded. “Then we will take our leave.”

“You know better than that, white lighter,” said the blonde haired sister, Phoebe.

“No magic is allowed on the island except for Avalon’s own,” Luna, the silver haired sister, explained.

“You can’t make an exception? We don’t intend any harm to your precious island. We just want to save our father’s life,” said Phoebe Halliwell.

“Your intent matters little to us,” replied the other Phoebe.

“As does the fate of your father,” Luna continued.

“Do you know who we are?” blurted Piper. “We are the Charmed Ones. And for the amount of good we have done we deserve some damn respect.”

A small smile crept on Selene’s face. “We know who you are Piper Halliwell. Your accomplishments may seem impressive to you."

“But they are insignificant when compared to the whole of history that we have witnessed,” Luna chimed in.

“And good and evil are mortal concepts that carry no weight here,” the third sister concluded.

“This isn’t going well,” whispered Paige.

“Leave now!” ordered Selene.

The Weird Sisters lifted their hands to the sky. Clouds formed and the Charmed Ones’ boat rocked violently.

“Nail!” called Paige. She quickly orbed a nail into the chest Selene. Selene gasped. Her sisters looked at her in shock.

“You hurt me mortal!” Selene cried in anger.

“There’s plenty more where that came from, so you should back off,” warned Paige.

Selene glared at the Charmed Ones. “Insolent fools!”

“This place will become your watery graves,” threatened Luna.

“Here we go,” said Piper.

Guest Shadow Flesh

I haven't watched Gargoyels in a long time and pretty much forgot everything about the Wierd Sisters, though I believe they should be more than powerful enough to stop the Charmed Ones

And good job on the setup!
