Guest Redemption X
Superman wakes up to find himself in agonizing pain. All he remembers is that he was flying around Metropolis when he suddenly passed out. When he gets up, he sees that he is in a purple void, with black stalagmites shooting out of everywhere. Where is he? And what could be causing him such pain? Taking a quick look around, he sees no Kryptonite in the vicinity, so the answer is obvious: magic is involved in this. Suddebly, a flash of red light appears in front of him. The bright red light morphs into a form that Superman instantly recognize. "Lucifer Morningstar!" says Superman in shock "Ah, I see my fame preceeds me. Good, that will save us the introductions." says Lucifer Morningstar "What do you want me, Lucifer?" says Superman "I have a proposition to make. An offer too good to refuse." says Lucifer "You have nothing that I could want, Devil!" says Superman as he flies to clobber Lucifer However, Lucifer teleports out of the way. Superman turns around, and Lucifer uses his vast powers to bind Superman's entire body, increasing his pain and forcing to listen to what Lucifer has to say. "Don't think you can fight your way out of this one, Clark. You are in MY domain now. Down here, I make the rules. Down here, I make the threats. 'Superman takes a fourth option, clobbers that mean old devil and flies out of there' is NOT a valid comment to this challenge. So, you will sit down and listen to what I have to say, or else I will vaporize you where you stand. Don't think I can't do it. I've read about you. The thing with your magic weakness is that you react to it the same way a normal human would. And a normal human would NOT be able to withstand my infinte cosmic power." says Lucifer "Fine, I'll listen." says Superman "Good! Now, I believe some time ago, an 8th dimensional imp called Rumpeltiltskin made you a similar offer, a choice. He wanted to test what love means to you. He failed. And the reason he failed is because he didn't take one fact into account: your love is divided between three women." says Lucifer "That's not true! I love Lois with all of my heart!" says Superman "That's only what you tell yourself to sleep better at night. But there is stillonging in your heart for the forbidden fruits of times past. Which is why I'm offering you the oppurtinity to make the choice you never had the time or patience to properly do." says Lucifer "And what do I get for playing along with this little game? What could you possibly offer me in return that you be tempting me enough for me to agree to all of this?" says Superman "How about the planet Krypton? I have the power to bring it back." says Lucifer "I guess news travel slow in your domain. The planet Krypton already came back, and it was destroyed again." says Superman "When Krypton returned, it returned too close to Earth. If you agree to my offer, I will recreate Krypton in a distant galacy, far away from Earth. And there's more." says Lucifer "There is?" says Superman "Your parents. Your natural parents, Jor-El and Lara. I will bring them back to life, in perfect health and with no memories of their death." says Lucifer Superman's eyes light up at the prospect of seeing his birth parents alive again. "So, what's the offer?" says Superman "As I said before, there are three woman in your life: the one you are currently with, and the two who got away. I am giving you the opportunity to choose between them. If you choose your current wife, then I will simply bring Krypton back, bring your parents back, and send you back to Metropolis to continue living your current life. However, if you chose either of the other two, I will alter reality so you are married to the one you chose, and nobody, not even you, will remember that Lois was once your wife. In fact, Lois won't even remember you. So, which one will be, the feisty reporter with the heart of gold?" says Lucifer Images of Lois appear before Superman. Superman thinks for a moment. He shouldn't do this to Lois. He shouldn't risk his marriage, his life of happiness, even Loi's memories of him, just because Lucifer says so. He already chose Lois once, he can do this again. Can he? "The symbol of a simpler life back home?" says Lucifer The images change, showing a beautiful redhead with freckles and a Smallville High sweater, with a smile that could melt anyone's heart. Lana Tender childhood memories come flooding back to Superman, a warm sense of nostalgia overcoming him. For most of his adult life, he wondered what his life would be like if he married Lana instead of Lois. Lana always seemed so sensitive, so careful to his needs, so naive and innocent. She would make the perfect wife for him. Would she? "Or...how about someone else? That repressed part of your soul that you refuse to acknolwedge?" says Lucifer As the images change again, a song starts playing in the background: "I feel my wings have broken in your handsI feel the words unspoken insideAnd they pull you underAnd I would give you anything you want, knowYou were all I wantedAnd all my dreams are falling downCrawling around Somebody save me!Let your warm hands break right through andSomebody save me!I don't care how you do itJUST STAY, STAYOH, COME ON!I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU" (special emphasis is put in those last verses) The images show a cute, nerdy, geeky blonde with a long nose and a shy, meek demeanor. Someone Superman hasn't thought in a long, LONG time. A partner of times past, a soulmate of another time, before he became what he is now, before he became Superman, before he became a symbol of hope for Metropolis and the most prominent member of the Justice League. Back when he was nothing more than Clark Kent. Chloe. Superman winces in pain, as a part of him that was repressed for a long time suddenly broke free. Clark never thought about Chloe before, he didn't let himself think about her. He acted like she never met her, like she wasn't a part of his life. When Chloe came back to Metropolis after all those years, he tried to avoid her as much as possible. But now, there no escape, not from thewy yearning that has been eating him inside. That temptation to choose the one he often who considered his one true love. Chloe was the nicest girl he ever met, he stood by him and supported him when nobody else did. He understood him better than most people. And she's a reporter, just like Lois. If he chooses her, Lucifer would probably make it so it was Chole who was working at the Daily Planet the day he first landed the job at the Planet, Chloe who went out to get stories alongside him and who he shared his intimate secrets. So, it wouldn't be that big of a change. But could he go throught with it? "Now, choose, Kal-El. Take your time, for I have plenty to spare." says Lucifer Superman doubles over in indecision, torn apart by conflicting desires, clashing memories and warring emotions. Should he use this opportunity to do what he always wanted to do and choose Lana? Should he listen to that little voice in his head that was whispering to him the whole time and choose Chloe? Or should he go back to Lois? Superman stops to think for a moment... So, who does Superman choose: Lois, Lana or Chloe?
Guest Cheif Captain Tupou
I think Superman would still go with Lois Lane .. there's a reason why he is called Superman as he has earned that name by having the wisdom to make impossible decisions as well as having the courage to live with the consequences
Guest bigballerju
Clark is not choosing Lana as there relationships had so many problems and headaches that once he starts remembering all of that she is out the picture quickly. Clark won't choose Chloe because there relationship reached the point where she became his best friend and like a sister. Clark chooses Lois because once again he will realize like always she is the one and gets a planet back in addition to that. Good setup by the way. As a Superman fan I like liked this. Guest Guests
Well, we go with Smallville I'm choosing Lois, then Chloe, and then Lana. Which is the right choice, so you know Superman would make it
