BATMAN/GARGOYLES CROSSOVER Part II

In the Bat Cave, David Xanatos smiled as he hung up his phone. “Owen has just informed me that Coyote has been given Killer Croc’s profile and he is on the hunt.”

“Wonderful news, sir,” said Alfred. “I wouldn’t suppose you would have any more Coyotes available would you?”

“Afraid not. Why? How many more villains are still loose?” asked Xanatos.

“As I said before there are many, even when you take out those that Master Bruce has already recaptured or is in the process of capturing,” said Alfred.

Alfred hit a button on the computer and several faces appeared on the screen under the bright red heading, At Large.

“Oh my,” remarked Xanatos. “Don’t worry Alfred, I still have cards to play. Let me get Owen back on the phone.” Xanatos called his faithful assistant. “Owen, I need you to arrange a flight to Gotham for the Manhattan Clan. Tell Goliath I need his help and many innocent lives could be at stake. I know Coldstone is in town so make sure he tags along as well.” Xanatos went silent for a moment as he studied the screen of faces. “And ask Detective Maza to try to convince her brother, Talon, to make the trip. I know that I’m still not one of his favorite people, but it looks like we will need all the help we can get.”

“Are you sure all these reinforcements that you are calling in can be trusted?” asked a nervous Alfred.

“They are the most noble beings I know,” replied Xanatos.

A couple of hours later, Alfred welcomed the Manhattan Clan, Coldstone, Talon, and Elisa Maza into Wayne Manor. “Welcome, welcome. Thank you for coming. All that I ask is that you don’t track mud into the house.”

Goliath’s eyes quickly found Xanatos. “Why have you summoned us here, Xanatos?”

“There isn’t much time. I’ll explain it as we make our way back to Bruce’s computer.”

Xanatos briefed the new visitors on the situation at they walked through the secret passages into the Bat Cave.

“Who here has heard of Batman?” asked Xanatos.

“Heard of him? He is only one of the greatest heroes in the world,” Broadway gushed.

Lexington‘s eyes sparkled. “Is he here? Are we going to meet him?”

“Better than that, Lexington, we are going to help him.”

“What kind of help does he need from us?” wondered Brooklyn.

By now they all stood in front of the computer. Xanatos gazed up at it as he explained, “Everyone of these criminals you see before you is currently terrorizing the citizens of Gotham City. They need protection. Batman can not do it alone.”

“Are we to patrol the streets, then?” asked Hudson.

“No. Our plan of attack is a little more focused than that, Hudson. We want to spread out our forces to help capture all of these villains as soon as possible. It is a little chaotic out there right now, so they should not be too hard to find,” said Xanatos.

Coldstone looked over the faces on the screen. “Each one of us will have a different target?”

Xanatos smiled. “Precisely. Alfred and I went over this rogue gallery while we waited for your arrival. We spent alot of time figuring out who would be best suited to go after each villain. I am confident that we are in good shape.”

“So who is first?” asked Angela.

Xanatos pressed some buttons on Batman’s computer. “Our first villain goes by the name, Blockbuster. He has the mind of a child, but also has super strength and is very dangerous.” Xanatos turned his attention toward Broadway. “As our resident heavy hitter, we are charging you with the responsibility of taking him down.”

“It will be an honor to help Batman,” stated Broadway.

“Glad to hear you say that. Understand what you are getting yourself into though. From the footage I have seen I don’t know if you are strong enough to simply trade blows with Blockbuster. You will probably need your ability to glide in the fight. I’m also counting on your innocent nature possibly appealing to him thus maybe negating a brutal battle,” explained Xanatos.

“Got it,” replied Broadway.

Xanatos reached in his pocket and took out an earpiece. He handed it to Broadway. “I know this is an unfamiliar area for you so take this. It will put you in constant communication with Alfred and I back here.”

Before Broadway could take his leave, he was hugged tightly by Angela.

“Be careful out there.”

I was never impressed with Blockbuster and given Broadway's powerset and his obvious advantages I would have to say that Broadway gets this fight after a few knuckle sandwiches.

Heh, kinda looks whoever submitted Blockbuster couldn't decide which Desmond brother he wanted to add.

Good set-up, JohnnyChany.

Broadway doesn't really stand much of a chance going toe-to-toe with Blockbuster, but as mentioned per the set-up, he could probably appeal to Desmond's child-like nature.
