JohnnyChany
BATMAN/GARGOYLES CROSSOVER Part IV Summary: With all the inmates freed from Arkham Asylum, Batman had more than he could he handle. Even with the help of his usual allies like Robin and Nightwing, the dark knight was overwhelmed. Alfred sought out a new ally, David Xanatos, who has come forth ready to offer a helping hand along with the Manhattan Gargoyle Clan. Soon after Brooklyn’s departure to take on Man-Bat, Detective Elisa Maza’s inquisitive nature led her to inspect the screen of villains on Batman’s computer. “It’s hard to believe all these sick and twisted individuals could reside in the same city,” she said. Alfred shook his head. “It is a truly stunning thing to be sure.” One particular villain stood out to Elisa and she pointed him out to Alfred. “Who is Clayface? What is his story?” Before Alfred could answer, Xanatos cut in. “Of all the villains that we are trying to help recapture, I believe he offers up perhaps the biggest challenge. He is made up entirely of clay and has the ability to shapeshift. He can create weapons with his hands and can even change his entire appearance. This ability becomes more problematic because he is able to split his body into multiple parts.” “What matter of sorcery is that?” gasped Hudson. “And how are we supposed to track him down if he can alter his appearance so easily?” asked Lexington. Alfred lifted a small device into the air, “With this, sir. Master Bruce has been using it for awhile now whenever he knows Clayface is at large. It can be used to detect his unique body signature.” After a small glance of approval from Xanatos, Alfred handed the device to Hudson. Confusion spread across Hudson‘s face. “Why are you handing it to me, lad? I’m sure this assignment is meant for Goliath or perhaps Coldstone.” “Nope, it’s all yours,” said Xanatos with a smile. “Surly I am too old for such an important target," insisted Hudson. “That line may work on others, but not on me. I have seen your indomitable fighting spirit too many times first hand. You remember the Cauldron of Life? I made the mistake of thinking you were too old once. I never will again. The wily resourcefulness you displayed that night is much needed now if we hope to subdue Clayface,” said Xanatos. Angela joined in on the encouragement. “You certainly didn’t get that scar on your left eye by sitting on the sidelines.” Hudson looked around at his friends who were all nodding in agreement. He pulled out his short sword. “Alright, where do I go to find this monster of clay!” “He was last seen by the police in Gotham City Central Park entering a manhole,” informed Alfred. “To the sewers it is then,” announced Hudson. Goliath swelled up with pride. “That’s the Hudson I know!” Xanatos offered Hudson an earpiece communicator. “Don’t forget this. We’ll update you should any more sightings surface. Good luck.”

DSkillz
Another good set-up, JohnnyChany. This is a tough matchup for Hudson. In straight H2H, there's nothing he can really do to hurt Clayface, and the old Gargoyle would likely get knocked around quite a bit trying. Clayface is also easily slippery enough to out-quick Hudson and get in some good slashes with some bladed constructs, or even try to trap and smother him (though the average Gargoyle could probably just break free). Hudson just might be crafty enough to discover Clayface's weakness to water and use it accordingly, but that might be a stretch.
