JohnnyChany
BATMAN/GARGOYLES CROSSOVER Part VIII Summary: With all the inmates freed from Arkham Asylum, Batman had more than he could he handle. Even with the help of his usual allies like Robin and Nightwing, the dark knight was overwhelmed. Alfred sought out a new ally, David Xanatos, who has come forth ready to offer a helping hand along with the Manhattan Gargoyle Clan. With Angela gone to take on Poison Ivy, Talon looked around at the few friends that remained in the Bat Cave. The group had shrunk to himself, his sister Elisa, Goliath, and Lexington. “Xanatos if you are going to pick a replacement to go after Coldstone’s initial target, you better do it soon before we run out of able bodies.” “Right you are, Derek,” replied Xanatos. “I have been mulling over this decision in my mind since Coldstone left to pursue Deadshot. And the best choice is you.” “What about my original target?” asked Talon. “You didn’t have one,” answered Xanatos. “I wanted you as my ace up my sleeve. That’s why it was so important to have Detective Maza convince you to make the trip.” “Really?” “Yes. But it appears I’m going to have to use you now instead.” Xanatos turned his attention to Alfred who still sat at Batman’s computer. “Alfred, pull up the file on Harvey.” Alfred obliged and a picture of Two-Face took over the screen. “You are looking at former district attorney turned super villain, Harvey Dent, aka Two-Face,” Xantatos explained. “He suffered a psychotic break and has been a criminal ever since.” Talon scoffed. “He doesn’t look like too much trouble.” “On the contrary, he is one of the biggest crime bosses in Gotham, and his unstable nature makes it hard to predict his actions. By the looks of it, Batman has compiled a list of his usual locations. He has probably already assembled a crew by now, so it won’t be easy to actually reach him.” “I’m sure the thugs who work for him are no different then the thugs and low lifes I deal with on a daily basis in the Labyrinth back home. I’m not concerned,” Talon said with confidence. Xanatos lifted an eyebrow. “Perhaps you should be. I know it’s not your usual style, but utilizing some stealth to assess the situation would be an excellent strategy. I’m sure Harvey is expecting Batman to come after him, so he could have traps set up in his hideout.” Electricity sparkled around Talon‘s clinched fist. “Hmm, but is he expecting someone who can actually fly and is electrically charged to come after him?” “A fair point. I just want you to be ready. Expect the unexpected. Two-Face is just as adept at firing a grenade launcher as he is his double barrel pistol.” Xanatos paused for a moment. “If you remember anything, remember this, Two-Face is obsessed with duality. He can’t make any serious decision without flipping his coin. That knowledge might prove crucial in helping you defeat him.” “Fascinating,” blurted out Lexington. “Got it. Give me my earpiece and I’ll be on my way,” said Talon. Before Xanatos could hand the communicator over to Talon, Elisa snatched it away from him. She gently placed it in her brother’s palm and closed his hand around it. “Don’t be cocky, Derek. Promise me you’ll be careful out there.” Talon rolled his eyes. “Promise me,” repeated Elisa. Talon’s expression softened as he looked into Elisa’s eyes. “Ok. I promise I’ll be careful.”

DSkillz
Good set-up, JohnnyChany. Talon could probably win this if he uses his head-- and his powers-- to full effect. If Dent has traps throughout his hideout primed for Batman himself, though, it won't be all that easy. Derek can probably either power through or evade many of the traps with his abilities, but some others-- like say, doorways rigged to set off gunfire or huge spikes suddenly coming out of nowhere-- may require him to have a level enough head to think things through. Talon's has been in a leadership role with the Mutate Clan for some time, (not to mention that his family as a whole is generally pretty astute), so he may just be level enough to get through the tougher obstacles.
