JohnnyChany
BATMAN/GARGOYLES CROSSOVER Part IX Summary: With all the inmates freed from Arkham Asylum, Batman had more than he could he handle. Even with the help of his usual allies like Robin and Nightwing, the dark knight was overwhelmed. Alfred sought out a new ally, David Xanatos, who has come forth ready to offer a helping hand along with the Manhattan Gargoyle Clan. Three people and two gargoyles remained in the Bat Cave after Talon left to capture Two-Face. “Okay, Goliath and Lexington, I have left the two of you last for a very important reason. I..” Xanatos began. “Hey! What about me?” Elisa interjected. “Detective, I never had the intention of putting you out there,” replied Xanatos. “What?” “I needed your help in coercing Talon’s assistance and I know your presence is always good for Goliath and his clan, but I didn’t plan for you to track down any of the Arkham escapees,” Xanatos explained. “Why not? You think I can’t handle it?” asked Elisa. “After all of our history, do you truly believe I would be intimidated by any of these criminals?” “On the contrary, I have nothing but respect and admiration for your skills as an officer and all that you have overcome.” Xanatos glanced over at Goliath. “It is not my concern that gives me hesitation.” Elisa walked over to Goliath. “Do you not think I should be helping in this mission?” “I just don’t know what I would do if something should happen to you,” Goliath replied. “While that is very sweet, you know I am no good at just sitting around. If you think I am just going to wait around here while you guys risk your lives to protect these people then you don’t know me at all. I am a police detective, protecting people is my job and my life. It is a purpose we both share.” Goliath acquiesced. “You’re right, of course. You have just as much a right and obligation to be out there as we do. Forgive my over protectiveness.” Elisa placed her hand on Goliath’s cheek. “I know it comes from a good place.” “Master Xanatos, may I make a suggestion?” Alfred inquired. “By all means,” Xanatos answered. Alfred tapped a few keys on Batman’s computer and a new profile emerged on the screen. “Victor Zsasz is a sadistic serial killer who is among those who escaped Arkham Asylum. He is insane. He adds a tally mark on himself for each one of his victims. He may seem tame compared to some of the more colorful residents of Arkham, but he is no less a threat to the populace of Gotham,” said Alfred. Xanatos looked over the profile. “Excellent suggestion, Alfred. I’m guessing that given the nature of this hectic and desperate situation, the Gotham City Police won’t throw a lot of jurisdictional red tape your way Detective. Should you chose to pursue him.” Elisa was silent as she read over the grisly details of some of Zsasz’s murders. Her eyes narrowed. “Thank you for entrusting this one to me, Alfred,” she finally said. “Nothing will give me greater joy than putting this demented scumbag back behind bars.”

DSkillz
Another good set-up and especially good match-up, JohnnyChany. This has the potential to be a tough assignment for Elisa. She could take Zsasz easily enough in a straight-up confrontation, but Zsasz likely may not face her directly. If he manages to set up a situation like he did in the Batman Knightfall saga (in which Det. Montoya eventually became a hostage herself), Elisa's really going to have a tough time of this.
