Match 11155 Birds of Prey vs. The Pack

BATMAN/GARGOYLES CROSSOVER Part X

 

 

Summary: With all the inmates freed from Arkham Asylum, Batman had more than he could he handle. Even with the help of his usual allies like Robin and Nightwing, the dark knight was overwhelmed. Alfred sought out a new ally, David Xanatos, who has come forth ready to offer a helping hand along with the Manhattan Gargoyle Clan.

 

 

In a warehouse many miles outside of Gotham City, three of the Birds of Prey (Black Canary, Huntress, Katana) were putting the finishing touches on their most recent mission.

 

“Is that the last of them?” asked Katana.

 

As the final hooded thug fell to the ground, a smile appeared on the face of Huntress. “That’s the last of them.”

 

“Good. Oracle says we need to get to Gotham as soon as possible,” said Black Canary. “It has recently turned into a mad house.” Out of the corner of her eye, Canary noticed the incredulous expression on the face of Huntress. “Well, more of a mad house than normal.”

 

“If Batman is looking for help then it must serious,” Huntress said.

 

“That was my thought as well,” replied Canary. “We must make haste.”

 

Before the three heroines could leave the warehouse a loud cackling stopped them in their tracks. The cybernetic brother and sister, Jackal and Hyena, stood in their away.

 

“You dames ain’t going anywhere,” Hyena announced.

 

“Someone paid us a lot of money to make sure you don’t make it to Gotham,” added Jackal.

 

Black Canary sighed. “We don’t have time for this.”

 

She belted out a loud Canary Cry in the direction of Jackal and Hyena. Suddenly, Dingo, in his battle suit, descended from the ceiling and smashed into Black Canary’s back with a double axe handle attack. She fell to the ground.

 

“That’ll be enough of that noise,” said Dingo.

 

“Who are you guys?” asked Katana.

 

Just as the words left her mouth, Katana was grabbed from behind and put in a massive bear hug by the large werewolf, Wolf.

 

“We are your worst nightmare, lady,” he growled.

 

“We are the Pack. We have you outnumbered. And there is no way you can beat us,” Jackal said confidently.

 

Jackal and Hyena laughed continuously as they extended their limbs and showed off their mechanical claws for all to see.

 

Huntress aimed her crossbow at the maniacal duo. “It’s going to take a lot more than you circus freaks to intimidate us.”

It's possible the Birds of Prey may have their hands full here. The ladies have the obvious skill advantage here, but the members of the Pack are much stronger, more durable, and, in the cases of Jackal and Hyena, much quicker and arguably more diverse arsenals.

 

With their cyborg bodies, both Jackal and Hyena have been known to give whole groups of Gargoyles fits on their own. In his mutated form, Wolf is arguably stronger than Goliath. Not sure why Dingo is here, since at this point of the Gargoyles storyline he's reformed and become a good guy. But since he's in this, too, he's probably the most dangerous person of the Pack. His battle armor combines the cyborg twins' arsenal and Wolf's strength and is more durable than any of the rest. Add to that Dingo's armor is fused with Matrix (think T-1000, but much more powerful), and the BoP ladies are going to have a real tough time of things.

 

The best chance the Birds of Prey have is for Huntress and Katana to distract the bad guys long enough for Black Canary to take them out with one of her more powerful sonic screams.

Thanks DSkillz, for all your comments during this arc. In my mind, this was the Pack after the initial upgrade, but before Dingo's reformation (meaning no Matrix). But after I read your comment I remembered that Dingo reformed before the truce between Xanatos and the Gargoyles. So yeah basically the timeline is a little skewed to make better matches .
