Flicking the grit from his cape, Lonnie considered the dangers the costume had faced. Sighing in an enhanced bereavement over the number of sins past, he rubbed his eyes harder than he had ever before. Looking at the target pictures, Lonnie couldn't help but see the blood drip from the wall. In a wounded scream, Lonnie tore the tack board into pieces.

"Curse that Bat", he snarled in fervor. "The world doesn't deserve his hypocrisy". The glint of something abstract then caught Lonnie's thoughts. "Perhaps I'm a hypocrite too." "Every parallel is equal no matter what." Moving silently towards the widow, Lonnie looked out at the night sky. "Then what does Gotham deserve?", he asked the air.

Suddenly, the window of an apartment caught Lonnie's eye. Inside a beautiful brunette woman was practicing on a mahogany piano. Her vestigial innocence, showed like the newly formed buds of a lilac. "What is it?", Lonnie inquired. "Why does she have the air of feeling in her?" Turning his head away, Lonnie opened his mind to the flashbacks of his past. His sister, who had plucked those flowers...

Those lilacs! 'Damn those lilacs', he remembered. 'How they always brought me that pain'. 'They remind me...' Going back to the window, Lonnie saw the brunette turn in fear to the charging vampdog. "That I had a heart", Lonnie exclaimed. Clicking the grappling hook within the top of his cane, Lonnie swung from his apartment, towards the brunette's.
