JohnnyChany
BATMAN/GARGOYLES CROSSOVER Part XVI Summary: With all the inmates freed from Arkham Asylum, Batman had more than he could he handle. Even with the help of his usual allies like Robin and Nightwing, the dark knight was overwhelmed. Alfred sought out a new ally, David Xanatos, who has come forth ready to offer a helping hand along with the Manhattan Gargoyle Clan. With some urging from Xanatos and Lexington, Alfred peeked over Batman’s computer to catch a glimpse of the battle between Zatanna and the Weird Sisters in the Bat Cave. “Is Zatanna winning?†asked Xanatos. “It’s hard to tell. It just looks like a bunch of carnage to be honest,†replied Alfred. Alfred ducked again as an errant burst of magical energy was shot in his direction. “I hate hiding,†said Xanatos, “We should find some iron and help Zatanna out. She is, after all, standing up for us.†“Give her some time,†Alfred assured. “We would probably be more of a hindrance than an asset to Miss Zatanna. Besides, there are many lives that are depending on us right now to lead them through. No need to risk our lives before the time comes.†“You‘re right of course, Alfred,†said Xanatos. “Hold on, you guys, I’m picking something up,†said Lexington. He tapped on the headset a few times. “It’s Broadway. He wants to know how Angela is doing?†Xanatos glanced over at Alfred. “I don’t believe we have heard from her since she tracked down Poison Ivy to that greenhouse.†Alfred slowly shook his head. “No. And with all the time that has passed since then, I fear that she may have succumbed to the savvy offensive repertoire of Poison Ivy.†“A logical conclusion,†Xanatos agreed. “Lex, what are they saying?†Broadway asked. “Angela is in trouble isn’t she?†“Hold on a minute,†Lexington answered. “Tell them to tell me where she is. I’ll find her!†said Broadway. Lexington looked at Xanatos. “He wants to go after her.†“No, I don’t think that would be a wise move,†Xanatos countered. “If Ivy does have Angela in a compromising position I don’t think Broadway would be the best candidate to rescue her. There is no telling what condition Angela is in and given their strong intimate connection, the emotional response it would bring about in Broadway could severely cripple his chances in defeating Ivy. Or worse, he might do something he would regret later.†Lexington nodded. “Don’t worry big guy, we’ll save her,†he said to Broadway. “They don’t want me to know where she is?†Broadway asked angrily. “He just wants to do what is best. But, we will save her,†Lexington insisted. “Let me talk to him!†Broadway demanded. Lexington handed the headset over to Xanatos. Xanatos took a deep breath before he spoke. “Hello Broadway.†“Listen here, Xanatos, I don’t know what your angle is here and I don’t care. Put yourself in my position. Would you listen if someone told you not to pursue Fox when you knew she was in danger?†“No,†answered Xanatos. “Then tell me where she is. I’m going to go after her, with or without your help. So please just tell me,†Broadway pleaded. “Very well,†Xanatos paused for a moment. “We sent her after a villain named Killer Moth, Cheraxes, who is essentially a giant moth. He can fly, has sharp claws, and makes cocoons with his mucus. We had tracked him down to the Gotham City Museum where he was terrorizing citizens. That is where we sent Angela.†“I’m on my way there now,†said Broadway. “You lied to him,†Lexington scolded. “He doesn’t know that. When we gave Angela her mission, Broadway had already left to battle Blockbuster. I stand by my earlier statement. Sending Broadway after Poison Ivy would be a bad idea. And don’t misunderstand, the threat of Killer Moth is very real. We needed to deal with him eventually. I trust that when he encounters the villain, Broadway’s instinct to protect will take over. He can deal with whatever residual anger he has toward me later.†

DSkillz
Good set-up, JohnnyChany. Hmmm... I couldn't find anything definitive on how strong the current Killer Moth actually is (I've seen "proportionate strength of a moth", yet his cucoon mucus can only hold "the strongest of men"), so I'm not sure how to vote on this one. That acidic mucus, the sharp claws, and flight can give Broadway a bit of trouble (though Broadway could probably break free of the cucoon easy enough). The only thing I can't be certain of is KIller Moth's physical strength.
