Boratz
Since the dawn of humanity, space has always been one of the biggest mysteries in the world. The vast reaches of the universe that never end span across the nine realms. Since the birth of man, space has already been one of the biggest mysteries. Stories have been told from generation to generation about beings from other worlds. While some stories told about peaceful beings others spoke of races that will bring an end to all things. There was a time when the world was a battleground between different realms. This time was lost in history and merely became a bed time story. Some came to worship these beings as gods while others just thought of them as folk lore. In the recent years of humanity, man has learned that they are not alone. The first case that was presented was when the Son of Odin and the God of Thunder, Thor, was banished onto Earth for his arrogance and stupidity. It was during the time of his banishment when some of Earth’s forces learned of the different realms. An agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D. was tasked with trying to find ways to protect the Earth, if there ever came a time when other worlds would come to invade. It was not long after Thor’s return to Asgard, when other races started to travel throughout the realms. Nearly a year after the incident that occurred with Thor and his battle with an Asgardian weapon in New Mexico, the Asgardian God of Mischief planned an attack on Earth. He opened a door that should have never been open. He called upon armies from all across the universe to take over the Earth. He was successful in bringing out his army, but he failed to take over the planet. He never expected Earth’s mightiest heroes to fight side by side and face his armies. Loki and his armies were defeated by several heroes as well as his brother. This team known as The Avengers was now part of history as well as legend. Nick Fury brought together this team that consisted of Steve Rogers, Tony Stark, Dr. Bruce Banner, Dr. Henry Pym, Janet van Dyne, Thor, Clint Barton, and Natasha Romanoff. While their names should be important to everyone on Earth; they are widely known by their other names of Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor, Hawkeye, and Black Widow. After the battle ended, the heroes went off their separate ways with Nick Fury proclaiming that the day would come when they would have to assemble once again. Loki was taken by the Mighty Thor to the lands of Asgard, while everyone else went their separate ways. Most of them went home but the only person that never could truly go home was Steve Rogers. He glanced over the papers and articles of the superhero team that saved the world. He saw pictures of himself and the team. He smiled but could never forget all those battles he fought during World War II. He had come a long way since his days as a scrawny kid. He remembered all his friends in the Howling Commandos and he remembered Bucky. All the memories haunted him but he was hopeful for the future. He knew that Fury was right. There would come a day when Earth needed its mightiest heroes once again and Captain America would be ready to fight alongside the Avengers. Since the day the Avengers disassembled, Nick Fury and several other agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. started recruiting all over the world. The World Counsel saw how relevant the team was in protecting the Earth and decided that the Avengers Initiative would be allowed to continue on with room for expansion. All over the world; from back alley streets to the lands of Africa, S.H.I.E.L.D. started searching for new recruits. From the most unlikely of mutants to the bravest of warriors, S.H.I.E.L.D. recruited more heroes for the Avengers Initiative. Nick Fury gazed over his roster of Avengers; Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Black Panther, Quicksilver, Scarlett Witch, Doctor Strange, and Luke Cage. This was his roster as of now and he knew that soon there would be a day when these heroes would have to come together to face a threat that no single hero could face alone. **** The back water planet shined throughout the universe. Many believed that the Earthlings were weak, despite the recent events. There was a race of creatures that stood higher than others. They set their destination for Earth. These creatures, the Kanamits, have found the life prospering planet known as Earth. The Earth gathered as these 9 feet, 350 pound creatures arrived on the planet. The world gathered as they saw a new race walk upon the Earth. The U.N. was in complete disarray as the creatures walked around the room. No one knew their intentions, even though they spoke of peace. They promised they were there to simply help out humanity and end all wars. They said they would end famine and disease. Everyone was skeptical of these beings but they knew they had no other choice but to listen in fear of what they could unleash. Their technology was far superior to anything inside the U.N. and people sat as a Kanamit leader spoke before all the leaders of the world. “To serve man.†Is what these great beings they told everyone. These great and powerful beings did just that with the technology they brought. From all over the world, weapons were depowered and seemed like humanity was protected by this mysterious force. It seemed as if peace was brought to humanity. These beings even promised people they could travel across space to the Kanamit’s home world. After a while, it seemed like these beings truly were here to inspire peace. It seemed like they meant no harm but there was still some who believe otherwise. ………………………..S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier……………………… Nick Fury stood before the World Counsel on the issue of the Kanamits. Despite his recent knowledge of the 9 realms, he did know about all the forces in the universe and these beings were just as mysterious as the rest of the universe. They questioned him about what plans he would have just in case an attack was made on the planet despite all the good that these beings had brought. Fury only replied with one answer, “The Avengers.†At one point, the World Counsel would have been frustrated with that answer but with everything they have done already, they were pleased that Fury had a back-up plan. They glanced over the roster of members on the Avengers Initiative that Fury had sent them and read over their backgrounds. For most people it would have been strange reading about Gods of Thunder or Sorcerers of Magic, but as World Counsel Members they have seen a lot. They felt a little comfort that they had some kind of team that could provide enough firepower to take on an alien army. “How long will it take you to get your team assembled?†one of the Council Members asked. “Couple of days.†Nick Fury replied as he glanced at all of them. “Get them ready.†The same Council Member replied. “Are we preparing for war?†Nick Fury asked. “At this point, I have no idea what is happening. Have Stark and whoever else there is with a brain analyzing that damn book those things left for us.†The Council Member replied. “Understood.†Nick Fury asked as he left the room. Fury called upon some of his most trusted S.H.I.E.L.D. agents; Maria Hill, Phil Coulson, and Natasha Romanoff to go out and get the team from around the world. He then went to some of the S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists, who were going to work on contacting Thor. After all of this, Nick went to brief Steve Rogers about what was happening. Steve, after everything he had seen and after everything he had been through, was calm throughout the entire briefing. Days had passed before most of the Avengers were assembled on the Helicarrier. Tony Stark watched a Doctor Banner and Doctor Strange sat beside each other. He glanced over at both the Scarlett Witch and Quicksilver, who sat with each other at the other end of the table. He gazed over at Black Panther, who was standing at the corner of the room and then glanced over at Luke Cage, who stood by himself. He saw all the old Avengers, except for Thor. “Who are all the wannabes?†Tony asked as he circled around the room. “They’re the new recruits.†Fury said as he walked into the room. “Well no offense to these guys but didn’t we already have a team. I mean we already saved the world once, we can always do it again.†Tony said with a small smirk. “And you’re not always going to be here. We need Avengers that will protect the world as long as they can protect it.†Fury replied as he walked to the center of the room. “Just listen to him Stark!†Steve ordered as he started getting frustrated with the self-obsessed billionaire. “I have listened, Captain. He’s got me looking over some weird alien book along with the other geniuses in the room… Oh and last time I checked, you were not one of those geniuses.†Stark replied with a smile. “That is enough! We need the team and we need as many Avengers as possible! We don’t know what these things are capable of or what they truly want! So until then, we will be assembled in case these 9 foot peace loving monsters decide to do something disastrous!†Fury yelled in anger. “Where’s party rock?†Tony asked with a small smile. “We’re trying to get in contact with Thor but as of now, we are going to assemble without him.†Fury replied. “Fair enough. Well come on boys, let’s go study this weird alien book.†Tony said as he left with Hank Pym and Bruce Banner. ****** “How about that?†Tony said sarcastically as he realized what the book truly was. “What? What is it, Tony?†Bruce as he walked over toward Stark. “This book… It’s is a damn cook book.†Tony said as he looked at it in disbelief. “What do you mean?†Hank asked as he walked over toward the two men. “Those 9 foot peace loving aliens are putting us on the menu.†Tony said with a small smile. “How is that funny?†Hank asked. “I’ve fought armor wearing psychopaths, terrorists, aliens, Asgardian gods, and a crazy Chinese emperor with ten rings of power, but this has to take the cake. I’ve never fought something that wanted me on the plate with a side of fondue.†Tony said with the same smile. “I’ll go tell Fury then.†Hank said as he left the room. “Now the question is, how do we fight them?†Tony asked as he continued to flip through the pages. “What do you mean?†Bruce asked. “Well these things pretty much shut down every weapon on the planet and they are thought of as gods. If we engage them, we will be the public enemies.†Tony said. “They haven’t shut down every weapon.†Bruce said with a glimmer in his eyes. “I guess the big green jolly monster will have the last laugh.†Tony said with a smile. “I hope not.†Bruce said under his breath. ******* The Avengers were gathered on the massive Helicarrier, to be briefed on what the plan of attack was. Tony, Bruce, and Henry told everyone about the information they gathered from the Kanamit’s book. Fury sat at the back of the room with a stern gaze but he felt something else inside. He felt a fear that none of the Avengers should ever know. He knew that he had to have Thor fighting alongside this team but he did not know if the Mighty Thor would be there when they would start their fight against this new alien race. He saw that all the Avengers were eager to battle these creatures but they knew nothing of their army or their weapons. The time had come for them to face this new enemy. The Avengers flew down to Washington D.C. where the main Kanamit leader resided with his Kanamit army. The Kanamits provided what was supposively safe travel to their home world, which was said to be for vacation. If only people knew the real truth. The Avengers believed if they stop the main Kanamit leader and the main base of operations, then that would weaken their forces just enough for the human race to join the fight. As the Avengers arrived in the capital of the United States, Captain America ran toward the ships. He yelled for all the humans to run away and started yelling out what the Kanamits were really there for. Suddenly, the Kanamit leader came out and stood before Captain America. The alien leader towered over the Super-Soldier but Captain America did not back down. “Now that was foolish of you, Captain America.†The Kanamit leader said as he gazed down at the Super-Soldier with a blank look on his face. “I’ve been told that before!†Captain America yelled with a smile. “Now leave Earth or I will fight you!†“I’m sorry Captain America but we do not wish to leave. We still have to serve man.†The Kanamit leader replied. “If that’s what you really want.†Captain America said as the grip on his shield got tighter. He got ready for a new battle. “Please Captain, if you engage us alone, you will surely die.†The Kanamit leader replied. “I’m not alone… Avengers assemble!†Captain America yelled with a strong smile as he lifted his shield high in the air. Suddenly, a cloud appeared in the background. As the cloud started to clear out, the Avengers appeared in the background. The Kanamit leader started backing away to his ship. Captain America watched as an army appeared out of the ships. He gazed up in the skies as more ships started to appear and more Kanamits started to appear. The Kanamit leader got closer to the ships door as he gazed over each of the Avengers.“Why are you running?!†Captain America yelled out at the Kanamit leader. “Resistance is futile.†The Kanamit leader said as he vanished in the ship.Suddenly, the sky darkened as storm clouds covered the world. Lightning flashed through the sky and thunder brightened up the darkening clouds. A smile formed over Captain America’s face as he realized that his team was now complete. “Party Rock is here.†Iron Man said as he and the Avengers started walking toward Captain America. Thor appeared out of the clouds and flew down alongside the Avengers. The Avengers stood ready for battle as Captain America started commanding them where to go and what to do. Finally, they all went out to do what they were commanded to do. Iron Man started flying up in the air and started laughing. “Resistance is not futile. It’s fun.†

Boratz
I hope you all enjoy. Sorry for any gramatical or spelling errors. The Avengers consist of Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man, Wasp, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Black Panther, Quicksilver, Scarlett Witch, Doctor Strange, and Luke Cage. There are several hundred, maybe even over a thousand Kanamits and several of their ships. Can the Avengers defeat these Kanamits and shut down their main power supply which is pretty much keep all human weapons at bay.

Guest potterpuppetpals
The Avengers have faced greater odds before, so they'd probably win.

Guest Shoggoth breeder
I had no idea the Kanamits were in the database! The stars of one of my favourite short stories and I dont even bother to look em up. Logically the Avengers take this but for being the species that started my interest in sci-fi Im voting for the Kanamits.
Guest Redemption X
I'm sorry, but what exactly do the Kanamits (who, as far as I know, are only a threat to regular humans) have in their arsenal that can defeat Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver or Doctor Strange? Hulk alone would take this with minimal effort. Adding the rest is just overkill.

Hulk alone would take this with minimal effort. Adding the rest is just overkill. I guess an alien army far superior to Earth forces, they were pretty much able to shut every weapon Earth had, and has weapons that are far superior to Earth. I thought that would just be a good match up.
DSkillz
Another great set-up, Boratz. A well-deserved "A" from me. As for the match, the Kanamits might actually be a good challenge for the Avengers. In "To Serve Man", they turned deserts into huge blooming fields. Per the set-up, they've also possilby taken control of every weapon on Marvel Earth, so they may have powerful tools to fight the Avengers with. Still, it's doubtful the Kanamits would've taken control of everything from clandestine forces such as S.H.I.E.L.D., so at the very least, the Avengers have a shot here. Guest Redemption X
I'm sorry, but Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange are high end reality warpers. As for Hulk, three words: World War Hulk. How the hell can the Kanamits counter being torn apart by the Hulk, or being erased from existance/vaprosized by Strange or Wanda? And don't say "because they have all of the world's weapons", since guns mean nothing to these three.
