Guest sirmethos
At this point, the problem with the setups has existed long enough that everyone should know about it. Thus, there is no excuse for leaving a match you have created, standing without a setup for ages. As an incentive to(to use Dskillz' words) "start writing the set-up out and save it before you make the match.", I'm going to start giving any match that stands without a setup for more than an hour or to, an F rating. If you can't be arsed making sure that your match have a setup, then you deserve the F you're getting.
DSkillz
Heh, wow, I at least give them until the fifth day to put a match up before I give that F.
Guest sirmethos
Heh, wow, I at least give them until the fifth day to put a match up before I give that F. Yea, so did I, until now. Up until now, it was plausible that people didn't know about the problem with setups, and thus hadn't anticipated it, and hadn't written the setup before creating the match. But as I said in the OP, the problem has now been going on for so long, that that excuse is no longer valid.
Guest bigballerju
No its not fair to give them a F. Thats too harsh. Give them a chance. Thats why we all voted for th 5 days so people could have time to do a setup. I will say if I see I gave you time to do a setup and its still worse then decent then your still getting a bad grade. Guest Shockwave
If it's one of their first fights, I'm going to be nice and explain why. If it's their 10th fight, no. We ARE justified in giving an F at the end of Day 1. By that time they have the ability to come up with at least SOMETHING! I do start at a C rating, if the set up blows me away it goes up to an A or B, mostly depending on grammar and character depth. If it's blank or just a line, I do go F or D. We don't have to be nice. As judges, we can kick people in the teeth if they deserve to have that happen to them. The question is, where do you draw the line?
DamagingRob
I'd at least give them three hours. That's how long you used to be able to save the characters, and write out a match for them. I hardly ever rate anymore, with this new vote first, rate later crap.

Guest Darxeth
I think it's reasonable and I just started writing matches. Why would you post the set-up BEFORE having the match saved?

xLEGACYx
Personally I always type it out on word and save it. Then you can copy and paste. Also saving characters has always worked for me. I can agree with sirmethos and bigballerju

DamagingRob
Heh. You could consider pinning this topic, Skillz. It could serve as a warning of sorts. Post your set-up in 'x' amount of time, or... 'F'.

Guest potterpuppetpals
Sometimes a start a match, say I'm gonna write a set-up later, then find that I simply can't be 'arsed' (as sirmethos puts it).

Guest Dinsdale Piranha
If you give an F for a match that exceeds the time limit, how about stating the reason. If there are noobs getting F ratings and not knowing why, it will not help the situation.
DamagingRob
I usually don't give 'F's ( or any grade, for that matter :/) very often, but I agree with this. At least, then they'll know why, and try to avoid doing it again.
