Guest Garland
Shao Kahn stood in Outworld making battle plans to invade Earth-Realm. As he discussed strategies and ideas to conquer the Realms and gather them under his belt, his advisor Shang Tsung had a suggestion. . . "My Lord, there is another Realm beyond Earth-Realm. This world is called "Sanctuary". It is a place of deep magic, supersition and demons. This Realm may be competition for you. It has a great demon known as "Diablo", which has recently destroyed the place. I suggest that you defeat this demon before it attempts to fight you on even ground." Shao Kahn considers this. "So this Diablo and Sanctuary could be threats to Outworld?" Shang Tsung nodded Meanwhile Diablo was in Sanctuary, reveling over his victory against it's inhabitants. "Sanctuary is mine! You petty Seraphim are now, no match for me! Tremble before my might!" Mephisto had to interrupt his brother, however. "Brother, there is a new threat to your corruption of the universe. We have uncovered the whereabouts of a great Evil being who has great strength and magical powers. We must gather your hellish hordes and assault this Outworld before it attempts to conquer us on even ground. Shao Kahn, however, had attempted to resist his urge to hunt down and kill Diablo himself in a glorious duel. Normally he would be more cunning, but this time, his urge to conquer Diablo in single combat and gloat over his fresh kill was too much. The portal was open for the Konquest, and Shao Kahn's servants and army poured through the Portal underneath what was once Tristram Cathedral in enormous numbers. Shao Kahn immediately swung his war hammer, barely missing the demonic master of Terror in the process of the attack, before the battle began. Guest He who fights monsters
Apparently, people forget the red lightning hose fun from Diablo II. Shao Kahn gets his ass handed to him.
Guest Pope Kramer
Diablo, being the Lord of Terror, can screw with Shao Khan's mind by bringing his greatest fears into being. So while Khan is grappling with what's real and what's an illusion, Diablo gets an easy kill. Flawless Victory.
Guest Garland
sweet set-up! but what diablo are we looking at here? warrior, rogue, monk, sorcerer? What-ever's Canon. Also, Shao Kahn has the power to consume billions of souls easily. I doubt that such magical power can be easily over-powered by Diablo's mind-buggery. patrickthekid
You also have to consider what it took to defeat these people. Liu Kang may not look that impressive, but he's no slouch. Diablo's opponent... was but a mere man with a sword.

Guest Garland
While I disagree, Benjamin Grimm has a point. Diablo has shown no resistance to soul absorption, but Shao Kahn has shown no resistance to "nightmare" magic. I doubt either of them can one up eachother with an instant-kill shot
Guest Guests
The question is: Does Diablo actually have any feats? Anything that can be powerscaled off of?
Guest Garland
The question is: Does Diablo actually have any feats? Anything that can be powerscaled off of? Literally fighting through entire hordes of Hell by himself. (Except for maybe the Prime Evils) That's one demon v.s all of Hell, and he won. Not particularly impressive, considering that a guy with a sword, was able to wade through "entire hordes of hell" as well.
Guest Garland
One thing it sure does prove that the "Guy with a sword" wasn't you're average "Joe with a Sword."
Guest sirmethos
That's true, but even an exceptional man, is still, at the end of the day, just a man. There aren't any really exceptional combat feats for Diablo, while there are several for Shao Kahn.
Guest Garland
If the character selection screen is anything to go by, then the "guy with a sword" isn't just a guy with a sword. It's a guy with a sword who is equally powerful as a "guy who can shoot lightning from his hands", a "guy who can turn into a werewolf" (druid), a "guy who can raise the dead to fight for me", etcetera. Guest Pymp
magic trumps no magic, and Diablo imo is overall more deadlier as his influence is beyond just physical. Shao Kahn is powerful, but he is influenced by evil, which in my book is lesser than the cause of evil lol
Guest sirmethos
Shao Kahn is an extremely powerful sorcerer. Who in this match is it, exactly, that has "no magic" ?

Guest Pymp
All I'm saying is that Diablo is the incarnation of evil, so he is > than Shao
Guest Benjamin Grimm
Spoiler: Diablo in Diablo 3 is all seven Lords of Hell combined. He has the power of all of them. While some of you might want to argue that he got defeated by a simple human, the human that vanquished Diablo in the 3rd game was a Nephalem. It has been made vividly clear in Diablo lore that the Nephalem had the power to surpass Heaven and Hell.
