Match 11861 Aragorn and Boromir vs. King Leonidas

Hear you now of a story of warriors and a story of more warriors and a classic battle came to be. Many know of the days of Aragorn and the days of Boromir and their battle against Sauron. They fought to save all of middle earth from the tyranny of Sauron and his plans. They fought bravely to save all they held dear from the succumbing of the world to the ring of power. The "one ring". As all knew the story, Boromir died in battle not to long after finding that his own madness in wanting to take the ring for Gondor was folly. He came to his own senses a bit too late and his life was claimed by Saurons forces. He lay dying and at that time pledged his loyalty to King Aragorn. Though it was a fitting end for one so brave, it was not the end in this story as this one will be told with quite a twist to it. We have to simply deal with the possiblity of what would happen if certain things were allowed and what would happen if certain people existed during a certain time? Me? I am Mr. Reality and I can make all things come true and while I can do this, I invite you to listen to how I viewed these events and how I shall bring you a battle that you might not ever see and how you can be a part of deciding the fate of one.

You know of King Leonidas. The king of the Spartans and the leader of the brave 300 who faced the Persian Army and fought to the last man. King Leonidas gave his life and lived like a Spartan right down to the last moment. He defied the attempts to take over his kingdom and showed no fear of death. He was truly a king to be respected and honored. King Leonidas did not believe in giving up or admitting defeat, he would die before he let anybody beat him and that is one of the strongest factors of his character. King Leonidas was honored and respected and his spartans fought on without him. He was never forgotten for his selfless dedication to Sparta.

Nor was Aragorn for his time and his admission to the world of Middle Earth. Aragorn became King, Aragorn went from being a Ranger to leading an army of men and stood fast before the evil of Sauron and nearly lost his own life yet surived to take the throne of Gondor and rule in years of peace. He was a friend to man and hobbits alike. Aragorn indeed embodied what he believed was the way of a king and ruled as one.

Now that we are here, I am going to do something for you. I am going to put all three of these men in a battle and you will decide who wins. Mr. Reality can do all things as you allow me to step back and you will join the situation at hand. I will simply manipulate time a bit and what we shall have is a slight change in events, by all means enjoy.

"Leonidas a persian messenger is here"..says the spartan soldier..

A persian? What brings him here?...scoffs Leonidas with a furrowed brow...

"He yas a message for you and will only speak with you"...the soldier turns as Leonidas nods..

I will hear him...Leonidas then dresses in his war attire to go meet this messenger. He has his helmet, his shield, his spear and his Sword.

Moments later, the messeneger dismounts from his horse after tossing the heads of kings on the ground of sparta, he has made a statment before the conversation even begins and though Leonidas finds this message cryptic he still gives enough courtesy of a short stroll through sparta and ends up in the courtyard at the beginning of a pit. Several of his soldiers are there as the Persian messenger with his party is there and the final words of their conversation ring out. Just as Leonidas draws his sword upon the messenger...

No one threatens a messenger, this is insane, this is MADNESS!!

Madness? THIS IS SPARTAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Leonidas KICKS yet the Persian messenger MOVES anticipting his kick and Leonidas lands in the dirt just as one of his other soldiers moves in to kill the messenger! Leonidas gets up and as the other members of the party are slain, he is tripped into the pit by one of his soldiers who crashes into him by accident!!

My king!!...one of the soldiers yells out as Leonidas falls in and they are horrfied!

This is where I come in because as he falls into that pit, Leonidas thinks himself dead. He simply closes his eyes waiting for everything to go black yet with my powers of reality, I simply turn that fall into a change of reality and move him into the time of middle earth and he lands in the woods at a time when Boromir and Aragorn were about to fight the Orcs! As you remember this is where Boromir died, this is where the Orcs shot him with arrows until he could fight on no longer. Yet the reality has been changed. This simply was remade into a situation that turned out like this...

Leonidas struggles to his feet after finding himself in the woods of middle earth, he has his sword, helmet, shield and spear and is a bit confused as he looks around. As he looks and tries to figure out where he is, Boromir and Aragorn have seen him fall out of nowhere and stand where they are about 70 yards away. They are perplexed to say the least...

What kind of sorcery is this? Boromir what do you make of it?..Aragorn clutches the hilt of his sword..

I know not Aragorn yet this creature looks human as you and I are...

You, with the spear and helmet..what business have you here?..barks Aragorn...

I am King Leonidas of the Spartan Army and I have no idea of how I arrived here and even less of an idea of who you are.

I am sure you must know Magic to appear out of the sky as you have...Boromir adds..

I know not of magic...

Aragorn being very wary of wizards during the time they are in immediately does not trust this situation. He knows that appearing out of the sky is surely not natural...Boromir on the other hand feels quite the same way. Though they are fighting for peace, they do not trust anyone that seems to be a possible threat ...

So you control an Army of men then? ...asks Boromir..

I do and I rule and we fight against oppression and we are a warrior race. Proud to be born of Sparta!..proclaims King Leonidas..

I am from Gondor and we are here to war against Sauron for his desire to throw us all into darkness..do you know of Sauron? ..with piercing eyes Aragon looks at his quarry..

No, I know not of him and I am not in my home yet I am still a king and wish to return to it at any cost. In Sparta we fear nothing! Do you know of a way to return me to my home? Was it you that brought me here?...as Leonidas lowers his gaze..

With all three of them being warriors and mistrust starting to brew, the energy in the air builds as Leonidas begins to think they brought him here and Boromir and Aragorn begin think this is some sorcery created by Sauron to get the ring. Leonidas, being aggressive of course puts growl in his voice and Boromir and Agagorn beleive him to be enduring a fire of the brain...

We did not bring you here and we do not know how to return you and we must be on our way, we have an appointment with evil..says Aragorn..

The only evil I see here is you! The both of you know more than you must be revealing to me and in Sparta you live and die by your word!....Leonidas clutches the hilt of his sword..

We did not come here for a fight and we know not of you and have no idea of how to help you yet our situation is dire and if you are not here to aid us then we must be on our way, we wish you hope in finding your way home or perhaps you might seek the aid of Gandalf the wandering wizard....Boromir lowers his head a bit as he looks at Leonidas..

I do not know of a Gandalf, where I am or where to find him and you will take me! ...Leonidas seems to command...

This seems to get the ire of Aragorn...

We have lives to save and we can not take you to Gandalf, we do not know if he even would be able to help you yet your tone and actions seem dangerous...were you to hand us your weapons we might reconsider and help you if you would follow us, we don't know you so we can't say you can be trusted as we are out to stop Sauron from getting the ring....proclaims Aragorn.

A spartan NEVER gives up his shield!! Do you intend to take me prisoner??? NEVER!!! I would die before I give up the rights and honor of Sparta!!..Leonidas gets in a battle stance...

Aragorn! We have no time for this...Boromir pleads with him as he sees Aragorn drawing his sword...

This man or whatever he is to be made to look like one is not of this world and this means we could be in danger, he could be lying and want the ring for himself! He is drawing his weapons and means to do battle with us...Aragon has his sword out front...

It would seem reasoning with you is not going to help me, therefore I will fight you and force you to tell me what I know come on!!! Know the fury of a spartan warrior!!!..Leonidas shakes his Spear as his eyes gleam beneath the curves is his helmet....

Aragorn and Boromir are dressed as they were during the time before they would battle the orcs, not dressed in full plate armor and King Leonidas has his spartan helmet, sword and shield and though seemingly insane will fight both of these men to the death. Keep in mind that the size of the spartan shield is large enough to cover Leonidas from a majority of attacks. You have to decide if Boromir and Aragorn will charge at once or will King Leondias charge? Consider also that with these three being from different time periods will the spartan weaponry stand up to the weaponry of middle earth's time? Would the swords be more of an advantage because they are obviously longer than what the spartans used at their time, yet would the difference in hardness of metal make a difference? Would Leonidas use his spear in this situation knowing he was fighting two? A lot to consider as obviously they are wearing more armor than Leonidas is yet who would be faster out of the three of them? A lot to consider as you think about who would win...

So you decide...

Aragorn and Boromir win the day. The Spartan's strength was in the Phalanx and although movie Leonidas was quite bad ass and skilled he will fall to two opponents as skilled and strong as these two.

Heh, like how LoneWolf quoted the whole match. Probably did it in case anu gets frustrated and deletes the whole thing again. :D

Anyways, I'll read this in a bit. Just gotta look up the characters. And to any parties concerned, I will not be rushed into it.

I think people need to take into consideration that Leonidas is the more mobile and faster of the two. You can't tell me that Boromir and Aragorn are just as fast as he is. Plus if anybody saw 300 then take the scene that Leonidas was in when he went on the attack and faced more than one, Leonidas has experience fighting more than one and can skewer a person with just one thrust of his spear. Think also about how much heavier the weapons of Boromir and Aragorn are. Yet I would think that Boromir is the largest of all three of them he has to be the most powerful fighter. Leonidas is going to move and he is going to remain a hard target for either of them. He also has a shield when neither of them don't. I am not saying he will win either I am just saying these are things to consider.

Aragorn. The very name rings of legends. I think he will ride, and slay Leonidas. Boromir falls defending against the Spartan king, putting forth a valiant effort to delay his attack on the heroic ranger.

Set up gets an 'A'. I liked the garnishing, if you will, of the classic fantasy/fable oration. It really added that extra bit of flavor I guess.

"I am from Gondor and we are here to war against Sauron for his desire to throw us all into darkness..do you know of Sauron? ..with piercing eyes Aragon looks at his quarry.."

Excellent setup you get a A. Leonidas may skilled enough to defeat Boromir but he won't take down Aragorn. Aragorn is too far above him in skill and in experience as a warrior. The is a reason why Aragorn was a legend and stories spread about him if i remember correctly.

Aragorn wins while Boromir dies in battle.

Leonidas is fast and skilled but his speed comes with a price. He has no armor to protect him. In the 300 movie Leonidas was fighting a bunch of Cannon Fodder when he was against more than one opponent. These two he is facing now are much more skilled. While he wont lose easily he will lose.

well the movie version of Leonidas showed some amazing strength as well. I put them equal in strength. Leonidas has speed due to no armor and the others have durability DUE to armor

Well, it looks like my comment on the outcome here's not really needed, especially since I haven't seen either the LotR trilogy or 300.

I will say this, though; The mood of the story is laid out really nicely, but still watch for common grammar errors here and there.

EDIT: Also, in the future, you've got to be more patient with users. Sometimes, longer set-ups may be passed over to get to the shorter ones. Sometimes, an individual's rep may discourage some from reading their matches. Either way, the answer is not to go and erase set-ups that you obviously worked hard on just because they weren't commented on after the first two days they're up. If anything, doing something like doesn't really show the best of classiness all will only further incur the wrath of others.

From now on, please show some patience. Even if no one even comments, the match is still there for lurkers to read and (possibly) enjoy.

Oh and Aragorn and Boromir win easy. Leonidas is strong, powerful and a great fighter, but so are Boromir and Aragorn. Two on one with armor + enchanted weaponry vs. bronze age crud = Dead Leonidas. Speed be damned.
