Guest force_echo
CBUB Chain Story, Pt. 2The fear had been in this land for a long time, for there were always men, and those who were beyond men. The distinction was made too easily, and throughout the years, a sickness had fallen as man was kept in a cage. For there was fear among the men beyond men, fear of losing power, and the fear of man itself as it began to lash out. The years of sickness had instilled a deep frustration among man, as had always happen to men who do not progress. Man had grown complacent as the men beyond men began to do everything. Technology came from them, power came from them, and man had grown complacent. The sickness, was not recent, but an inherent thing, an inevitability of those men who were beyond men. But now, as man realizes its place, and becomes indignant, frustrated, angry. And the men beyond men, who know this, they fear the anger of man, but fear the loss of Power more. They know that the only way to stop the sickness is to uplift man, but they fear man’s inherent power. So then fear becomes the normality. I could sense the fear, Iron Man, for all of his sensors couldn’t. I had always been able to see things other people couldn’t. I’m an inventor, a visionary. I could see the fear before, but not until now, could I see it the clearest. I stood on the cliff overlooking the valley where the shadow of death lived. This was a sick valley, where man was kept because they still had use. They outnumbered the “metahumans†by hundreds of thousands to one. Here man lived in a huge sprawling high-tech city, a bastion of man’s progress, but a testament to the cost of progress. Here, ironically, morality was left behind. This is man’s foothold, where human innovation rings out above all other, but where the sickness of crime has the strongest presence. It is true that the Old Ways were archaic, they were holding humanity back, but they also had, coming with it, a moral compass for man. This valley, this is where the Old Ways have no sway. Progress comes at a rate equal to the cities of those men-beyond-men, but at what cost? Thoughts of my mission shake me out of this contemplation of the state of Khazan. I activate my thrusters, and jump off the cliff overlooking the valley, softly landing on the top of the office building where the dead body of Superman lay. An interdimensional vortex had attacked him from the inside, ripping through his superhuman organs. I knew the tech well. I had made it. I shook my head, knelt down beside the hero’s head, and gently closed his eyes. It was a man who did this. Everyone knew. My sensors didn’t detect any metahuman discharge. Not for the first time, I began to ask myself why. Why would someone do this? Superman was an innocent man, and someone who had done so much for mankind. Just once, I thought, just once I would like to meet one of these people and ask them what their motivation was. Why Superman, the one who was advocating for the uplifting of mankind? Why? It was senseless, this crime. I felt my hand clenching in anger at the complete absurdity of such a senseless crime. Did they not realize that this was going to cause the most grievous of backlashes among superhumans? Superman was a hero, and this act would no nothing save to underscore their point about mankind. Indeed, already the hero known as Batman had been killed by metahumans. War was not far behind. And whose side am I on? Looking at my armor, fused into my body, how can I be called a man? But don’t I have a human voice, a human mind, a human heart? But then, don’t all superhumans? I push the familiar thoughts to the backburners as I activate the satellite-guided teleportation matrices to take Superman’s body back to Stark Industries. I turn around, and I get ready to take off, but my armor detects an individual behind me. I spin around, repulsors charged. “Doom.†My sensors indicate that it wasn’t a doombot or a hologram. I was slammed by an energy blast, thrown off the building. My boot-jets stabilized me midair, and I prepared to retaliate, when 3 fast moving targets showed up in high atmosphere on my sensors. Heading for the nearest superhuman city. Doom fired a spell at me, which my armor promptly absorbed. “Nice try Doom, but I have a magic absorption matrix. Worked like a charm against Scarlet Witch, your spells shouldn’t be a problem. Now, excuse me for a minute.†I froze Doom, in place with a charge of Freon from my gauntlet, knowing it wouldn’t hold him for long, and zoomed after the atmospheric targets first. Luckily my Emergency Bots got there first: Digger, Hazard, Hulkbuster, and Stark-Chobham were engaged in heavy battle. With Ultron, Magneto and the Red Hulk. Shit. Almost immediately I encountered Ultron’s attempts at hacking into my armor, and I retaliated with my technopathy. I could see Magneto was trying to magnetically manipulate the bots, but the anti-magnetism fields applied to them foiled his attempts. I form a machine gun on my right shoulder and load in some antimatter bullets with anti-metal shells to fire at Ultron. Meanwhile spamming Red Hulk with mini-nuclear missiles. Then my sensors read Dr. Doom teleporting in behind me. I hate supermutants. I activated VATS, as the Pip-Boy in my wrist integrated its highly advanced processing functions into my brain, causing everything to slow down almost to a complete stop. Not having much time, I programmed a set of instructions into it, and time resumed. The Pip Boy activates it’s thrusters to help guide my hand as my Gauss Rifle rips its way through the unarmored heads of 3 different supermutants. All of a sudden, a Nightkin pops up behind me. Shit, I forgot they could do that. I start turning around. But it’s too late, as I feel a Super Sledge slam into my ribcage. Thankfully, my armor stops most of the damage, but I still go flying like 15 feet, landing on the ground with a solid thud. I get out my Ripper, and rev the shit, slipping the Two Step Goodbye on my other hand. I backpedal the next swing from the supermutant, countering by a quick stab to the chest with the Ripper, the diamond blades shredding the armor plating. The sledge comes around again, this time, I parry it by deflecting it upwards with my Ripper, following up by punching the Super mutant with the Two Step Goodbye in the area of the weakened armor. The pad on the front activates, and the shotgun blows, sending supermutant guts flying 10 feet behind him. I put my weapons away and resume my journey, sliding down a hill. 20 feet in the distance, I see what seems to be a heavy melee battle going on, as some dude in a dragon outfit battles someone else in a skin-tight red suit. The guy in the suit seems to be parrying and dodging most of the dragon guy’s attacks because he’s more agile. All of a sudden, the dragon dude bellows out “Fus Ro Dah!†and sends the red guy flying. The red guy quickly picks himself up. The dragon dude gets ready to say something else, but the red dude throws what appears to be a red stick, which hits the other guy squarely in the throat, crushing it. Not wanting to be involved in this, I walk the other way, until a sword gets buried in the ground right beside me. “what the f-“ I begin, when the dragon born tackles me into the ground. He’s on top of me, and I’m wrestling with him. “I didn’t wana get involved,†I grunted. “But fine, now you got me mad,†I said as I take out my industrial hand and saw the other guy in the side of the helmet. All of a sudden, the Dragonborn gets picked up and literally thrown on a rock by the red dude. “Thanks†I manage get out before the red dude roundhouses me in the ribs, slamming the air out of me. I take out the protonic inversal axe with one hand and the X-2 Antenna with the other.

Guest force_echo
The match is really Iron Man and his 4 emergency robots vs. Dr. Doom, Magneto, Red Hulk, and Ultron, and the dragonborn vs. Daredevil vs. The courier. Iron Man and his 4 bots have the magic absorption matrix Iron Man used to absorb Scarlet witch's Magic installed to protect against Doom's magic. they also have the anti-magnetic shield that prevents Magneto from directly affecting their persons (although he can still pick up a car and throw it at them, for example). Iron Man has his technopathy and is engaging in Electronic Warfare with Ultron's hacking attempts. Here's the magic absorption matrix in action (Iron Man later used this technology against Dr. Strange as well): In case, you're not familiar with the emergency bots: The Rescue bot has talons, and is fast and strong enough to beat Namor underwater. The Fantastic Four couldn't defeat the Digger bot, it utilizes anti-metal, and to destroy it, Iron Man had to drop it from orbit with fantastic four simultaneously supernova'ing it. The Hulkbuster MK III was manhandling the entire Avengers, and Iron Man stopped it by stopping his own heart, and the Stark-Chobham armor is made up of adamantium and carbon nanotube, being pretty much invulnerable. The Courier has the strongest light armor in the game, as does the dragon born. The dragon born can't use shouts or healing spells, the courier has all melee and unarmed weapons in the game with a melee and unarmed skill of 100. The Dragonborn has only melee weapons, and has all physical skills of 100. Daredevil is at his peak.
Guest LoneWolf
I'd say team 2 sure doesn't win. You say DD is all on his own? Not even with the Dragonborn?
Guest bigballerju
Excellent setup. I have one hell of a act to follow. I'm going with Ironman as in the setup he seems like he had prep on what he may encounter abilities wise. Team 3 was his biggest threat and it seems like has them taken care of or he is about to finish them off.
Confession FPT
Aren't we supposed to use a character that used from the last installment?> Edit: Excellent friggin' set-up, btw, sir.
Guest bigballerju
No not really as long as you extend upon the story or add to it I believe. Gone have to reread Marvel Man's part and they a second look at this for mine.
Guest force_echo
No, you don't need to use the same characters. Just expand on the story however you see fit. P.S- With how I set up the fight, I have no idea how voting is going to work. Good luck with that.

As if this match wasn't hard enough to vote on already, what with some seriously powerful and well-prepared sides in this little war, i don't even know how i'm supposed to vote... I reckon the bad guys win, to be honest. And it is a badass set up.

DamagingRob
Great set-up. Randomly placed a vote for the good guys, since it sounds like they're the underdog. Kind of impossible to cancel my vote out, when there's three options. *Shrugs*
Guest force_echo
I personally think that Iron Man and company wins. While the other fight's a tossup between DD and The Courier.
Guest skadoosh
a tossup between DD and The Courier. Surely Daredevil wins that one...
Guest force_echo
The Courier has some insane melee and unarmed weapons, most of which could kill or incapacitate Daredevil in one blow, like the Two step Goodbye (shown in setup) or Industrial Hand (also shown). The only problem is hitting DD. So that's why it's a tossup, if Daredevil keeps out of the way, he can win, but if he slips up just one time, and get nicked by an Inversal Protonic Axe or the poisoned Blade of the East, he's going down. Guest skadoosh
Bloody video game characters and their one-hit-kill-y weapons, always beating Daredevil and whatnot... That does seem like a pretty close fight.
