Match 12035 Nightwing and Green Lantern - Hal Jordan and Starkiller vs. Daken and Nero (Devil May Cry) and Gladiator (Kallark)

CBUB Chainstory Part 3

 

Nightwing was on one knee as he put his head on Batman’s chest and closed his eyes in anger over the death of his adopted father. He thought back to the first time Bruce found him after his parents had been killed. Bruce as he looked into his eyes had been just as angered and sad as he was. Bruce took him in with Alfred and for many eyes he mentored him as if he was Bruce’s own son. Nightwing’s fists were clenched as his anger boiled and he was on edge as he promised vengeance for whoever was responsible for Bruce’s death.

 

Hal Jordan stood over Nightwing with a look of both sorrow and anger for Dick Grayson. In a world of Supermen, Green Lanterns, metahumans, and more. Batman was possibly the world’s greatest hero. Hal Jordan put a hand over Nightwing’s shoulder as he knelt next to him.

 

Hal Jordan: I promise you Dick with everything you can imagine I will hunt down the murder of Batman. Justice will be brought to whoever is hunting down superheroes and killing them. No longer will we standby and wait for loved ones to fall. No longer will be watch as friends fall and villains escape time after time. If it is a war they want then it’s a war they will get.

 

Nightwing listened to every word Hal Jordan said as something from those friends hit him hard and powerful. Nightwing stood up with Hal Jordan as his tears stopped and a renewed purpose came across him.

 

Nightwing: Thank you Hal. I needed that and if Bruce were here he would agree with you. The time for grief and mourning is gone be a short one. We must get to the bottom of this. If rumors are true Superman has apparently been killed as well.

 

Hal Jordan: God help us if that’s true…

 

Nightwing: I heard about this place called Khazan through whispers and with some investigating in Gotham’s underground.

 

Hal Jordan: I heard of this place. Its suppose to be the City of Heroes but it’s more filled with villains then heroes. A dangerous place to go for anyway who goes there. Not many survive in that city.

 

Nightwing: Seems like someone had some experience?

 

Nightwing looked to Hal with interest and a smirk on his face as he wondered what kind of trouble Hal had gotten into in Khazan.

 

Hal Jordan: Heh… You could say that. However I’m curious as to why you brought it up.

 

Hal raised an eyebrow curious as he waited for Nightwing’s response.

 

Nightwing: Well my Intel tells me that whoever killed Batman seems that have come from Khazan or made a couple of trips over there because apparently heroes started dying there first.

 

 

Hal Jordan: I wouldn’t doubt it. A lot of major criminals have started going over there in recent months. It probably is the best place to start if we are looking for answers.

 

Hours Later...

 

Words couldn’t describe what he saw as he passed through the City of Heroes as Hal flew them around in a green ship constructed from Hal’s ring. It was filled with one sector which was like a beautiful Utopia where the superheroes lived freely as they pleased. The wonderful technology and design that surpassed anything that the modern age could hope to create. Hell they probably weren’t close to achieving for another couple of days. Superheroes in brightly colored costumes walked around with their friends and family. Nightwing as flying through the sky next to them was the Fantastic Four in there Fantastic Car.

 

Human Torch: The Nightwing?! Partner of Batman? Dude your totally awesome!

 

Nightwing laughed as he nodded to the Fantastic Four.

 

Nightwing: Thanks

 

Hal Jordan: Well?

 

Nightwing grinned as he knew Hal’s ego would come in sooner or later.

 

Thing: You are buddy? Who is this Nightwing your sidekick?

 

Nightwing laughed as Hal had a look of embarrassment and annoyance.

 

Green Lantern: No! I am Hal Jordan protector of…

 

Sue Storm: Nice meeting you Nightwing!

 

Nightwing: No problem. Always a pleasure to meet the world’s greatest superhero family.

 

Hal Jordan: Serious what am I chop liver?

 

Nightwing smirked as Hal saw the expression on his face.

 

Hal Jordan: Oh okay so you feel special now?

 

Nightwing: The Batman and Robin legacy goes a long way it seems.

 

Hal Jordan: Yeah I still remember you running around in your underwear.

 

Nightwing: Now…Now…Do I need to bring up Wonder Woman rejecting you 3 times with a swift kick in….

 

Hal Jordan: Oh look we made it Boy Wonder.

 

Hal cut off Nightwing at the mention of being rejected as Nightwing laughed to himself at Hal’s timing as they landed in the underground sector of Khazan where the supervillians were located. Of course the villain sector thought Nightwing had to be the complete opposite of the superhero sector of Khazan. The designs were much darker and the walls of the building had blood stains on them. Screams of fear and horror could be heard as through the streets all sorts of crime took place. On one block Boba Fett held Bullseye in the air as he dropped him from a couple stories off the top of a building as Bullseye slammed into the ground as his body splattered everyone. In another hookers were walking around as villains were snatching them up and more.

 

Nightwing: So this is what hell looks like.

 

Hal Jordan: Makes you wonder what this world is coming too when villains actually get their own city to commit these disgusting acts. I had my way they would all be far away in another galaxy located in one of the Guardians’ prisons.

 

Both Nightwing and Hal Jordan walked through the streets of Khazan as the villains stopped what they were doing as they gasped at the site of superheroes in there part of the sector.

 

Nightwing: I take it heroes aren’t allowed here?

 

Hal Jordan: I wonder why.

 

Both men walked through the streets as they looked for Hal’s contact.

 

Nightwing: Who we meeting?

 

Hal Jordan: A friend I made here the last time I visited this ugly place.

 

The two men came across a small abandoned fortress which had gates around it. The gates were open as when they entered several dead bodies with burnt marks were all over the area. Towers where guards on top were supposed to be were destroyed and the place looked like a battle had just taken place. Hal and Nightwing looked closer at the dead bodies as they discovered these were the bodies of members from the X-Men.

 

Hal Jordan: Well looks like we missed the big action. This is bigger than we all thought Nightwing. I know some of these X-Men. That’s Cyclops right there.

 

Hal pointed to the badly damaged body of Cyclops which was burnt all over and destroyed. Nightwing shook his head in disbelief.

 

Nightwing: My god….It can’t be…Wolverine?

 

Wolverine’s body was torn to shreds as his metal in his body was missing along with his brain and heart. The other members dead were Gambit, Kitty, and Psylocke.

 

Hal Jordan formed a green construct that scanned the bodies to see what type of weapon they were killed with. As he did this Nightwing started doing detective work around the area and surveying the surroundings.

 

Nightwing: Whoever it was they faced they never stood a chance against. This was a complete slaughter.

 

Hal Jordan: Well it wasn’t my friend because at as powerful as he is. This type of murder goes against his code. Plus his lightsaber and force powers wouldn’t do this much damage with how badly the bodies were destroyed. My ring couldn’t read the energy source on the bodies. This was something else we have never encountered.

 

Starkiller: That’s because these are forces behind anything this word has encountered. Nice to see you again Green Lantern.

 

Starkiller walked through the gates behind them as Hal and Nightwing turned around. Hal grinned as he shook hands with Starkiller.

 

Hal Jordan: Starkiller I was looking for you. I need your help since you have connections here in Khazan with...

 

Starkiller: With the mysterious death of heroes that’s been happening? Particular your friend Batman?

 

Yes through guidance of the force I was lead here and have been investigating. I can you tell you strange things have been occurring here that trouble me.

 

Hal Jordan: So there is something here worth checking out. Sorry how rude of me. Starkiller this is Nightwing.

 

Starkiller: The famous alley of Batman. What an honor.

 

Nightwing: Heh don’t mention it. Starkiller let me ask you who in Khazan would have the means and capabilities to kill off these heroes. I mean first Batman, then Superman, and then all of a sudden superheroes are dying…

 

All 3 looked to the dead X-Men on the ground as they all had a look of sorrow and anger...

 

Starkiller: Hard to say. So many A list villains now in Khazan ever since the new Ruler of the villain sector in Khazan took place…

 

Boom!!

 

A huge force dropped on the ground and sent a shockwave that sent all 3 men flying back. They all collapsed on the floor as Green Lantern immediately put a shield up around all of them. Gladiator lead by Daken and Nero appeared as they all were ready for battle.

 

Gladiator: Well if it isn’t two members of the honorable JLA here in the villain sector of Khazan. You’re in the wrong part of town and broken the laws here. No superheroes allowed my friends.

 

Hal Jordan: I don’t give a damn about the stupid laws of Khazan. I am a Green Lantern and this is my damn planet to protect.

 

Gladiator: Hal Jordan I have heard much about you. Your arrogance shines like always.

 

Daken: Sorry ladies but we have a job to do as we are there is a new new police force that runs Khazan along with many other members that’s lead by Gladiator. Me and Nero are second in command here. So get your ugly asses out of here before we have to take extreme measures. Please do me the honor of choosing the harder option.

 

Starkiller: You know full well I have special jurisdiction in Khazan and can go anyway as I please.

 

Nero: That went out the door the minute the war started along with the new Ruler.

 

Nightwing: War? New ruler in the villain sector in Khazan? What the hell is going on here?!

 

Green Lantern: We want answers and we are not leaving without them.

Bam! Bam!

 

Nero with quick speed pulled his guns and out immediately started shooting at Starkiller with superhuman speed to match up the demon powered bullets that flew toward him. Starkiller pulled his lightsaber out as with quick slashes he blocked the attack. Green Lantern formed a construct of a mech warrior suit around him as he flew toward Gladiator attacking him with blasts of his ring as they engaged in combat. Gladiator smiled at Hal as he flew toward Hal and with strength that shocked Hal delivered powerful blows that shattered Hal’s construct as it fell apart as Hal put his shield up. Daken ran toward Nightwing and lunged at him with his claws as he at the same time activated his pheromones. Nightwing grabbed Daken in the air by the head and flipped him in the air as he slammed him on the ground.

 

Nightwing: Your pheromones won’t work Daken I always inject myself with a antidote that protects me from all types of toxins, poisons, and other horrible crap you idiots all use.

 

Daken: Well then I will have to settle for cutting off your head then.

 

Nightwing: Well okay but so far you’re a half-assed version of your father and one that puts him to shame.

 

Daken lost his temper and as his rage boiled.

 

Daken: You son of a bitch none of you are living here alive!

 

Nightwing: Oh I don’t think so. We are not only to kick your asses but we won’t be leaving until we get our answers. When I am done your gone tell me about this war and whoever this new Ruler is. Somebody will be giving me some answers.

I'm thinking that once Nightwing and Daken have been blasted away by the others, leaving Hal and Starkiller to fight Gladiator and Nero, the Lantern and the Sith win. Eventually. The Force and the Lantern Ring are two extremely powerful and versatile things to have, and while i know Nero's Hellish powers and swordplay and Gladiator's powers, especially at his most confident, would allow them to put up a serious fight, as time goes on and Gladiator's confidence decreases, Hal and Starkiller will eventually be able to take the final killshots and win.

Got me thinking about the willpower-off Gladiator and Hal are essentially going to have... Very interesting. But i'm still thinking the Ring's versatility gives Hal the win.

What's funny is that Nero would beat Starkiller, Daken would beat Nightwing... but Green Lantern would win it for his team.

It would be an extremely difficult fight, but in the end Nero's bullets, speed and the raw power of the Devil Bringer would overcome Marek.

I don't know Nero at all, but if he can beat Starkiller, than him and Draken will help Gladiator gang up on Hal. I'm going with team 2.

If Nero does beat Starkiller, he wont do it without sustaining serious injuries, so he might not be that much help later in the fight. Also, Hal could just bitch-slap both Nero and Daken away with a big, green back-hand, so it still comes down to Hal vs Gladiator.
