Guest MarvelFan15
The IG is actually capable of affecting other universes besides its own. Saying it can't affect other realities is like saying that Galactus would be powerless outside his home universe, which isn't true, considering that alternate versions of cosmic entities within the multiverse have sojourned to the 616-verse and managed to retain all of their abilities. That was why the Living Tribunal stepped in to stop Adam Warlock from using it as opposed to Thanos, since Adam was going completely insane with it and would have tried to affect everything he could get his hands on, while Thanos was level-headed enough to take over only one reality (616). It also was capable of merging 616 and another universe into one cohesive and unified whole. The IG has even been shown as working effectively outside of its home multiverse, IIRC, but that might have been a different IG than the 616 version. I'm not saying that the IG can defeat the truest form of the Phoenix Force (which I'm uncertain of) but it most certainly can work outside of its home universe, unless, of course, there is an event that retcons each Gauntlet as working only in their home cosmos. Guest sirmethos
Again, read the Council of Reeds, that clearly shows Infinity Gauntlets not working outside of their home reality.
Guest MarvelFan15
Again, read the Council of Reeds, that clearly shows Infinity Gauntlets not working outside of their home reality. As I said, this is a retcon. Prior to this, a single time gem was sufficient to halt the multiversal flow of time.
Guest sirmethos
So? Anything prior to retcon, doesn't matter. Unless the OP specifically states that we're dealing with the pre-retcon version. It's like bringing up PC-Beyonder feats, in a match with the Beyonder. Or using PC-Superman feats, in a Thor vs. Superman match. I.e. non-applicable. C.T.
Frankly, he has not said anything about it being post-retcon either, unless I missed that, which is possible.
Guest sirmethos
It's a common rule, that unless anything else is specified, you use the most recent versions of characters. I'll, again, refer you to the two examples with PC-Beyonder and PC-Superman.
Guest Classic80s
Hey guys. Sorry I've been gone so long but thanks for keeping this thread going. As far as which version of what is here, it's Thanos w/ Infinity Gauntlet (from the actual time he had it in the arc that I'm using; not currenmt Thanos with current Gauntlet) vs Divine Spawn (from whenever it was that he was Divine [unless there was more than one time]) vs White Crown of the Phoenix (from whenever White Crown was around). All with their full capabilities and not taking into account any retcons since then. (Maybe a better person to have given the Infinity Gauntlet to would have been Adam Warlock in this set up. Unless I am totally mistake, he was just about ready to do battle with The Living Tribunal himself before Tribunal convinced him to hand it over, which, if that is indeed the case, it just goes to show what the potential of the IG really is)
