corvette1710
Bane's quite a bit more intelligent, and a far better fighter. He'll come up with a nigh-perfect plan that outwits Joker's terrorist schemes and utterly destroy him.
AVP vs The Terminator
Bane is the more tactically intelligent of the two (though not by much), true, but Joker's own form of genius and unpredictability will give Bane a hard time. If it came down to a physical confrontation Bane would crush him, but considering it's a battle of wits, I doubt it will. I think Bane would take it in the end. He has more resources at his disposal (considering his relationship with a certain rich League of Shadows member), and can probably do a lot more with his budget. Guest skadoosh
In the Nolanverse, Bane is a tactical genius, virtually unmatched in terms of military strategies, and he's an incredibly skilled and physically capable combatant, while the Joker is a highly unpredictable and intelligent terrorist. Bane is smarter in a way that counts for more, in this situation, and any other combat-related situation, and the Joker's only real advantage is his unpredictability, which wont matter much against someone who can kill you faster than you can annoy him. The Joker terrorized Gotham for a while, while Bane not only took it over, he brought it crashing down. Bane would be able to outsmart and overrun the Joker after some time, although he'd have to chase him for a while, and while i don't think a physical confrontation would be likely, if it did happen, Bane would destroy the clown. Guest deojusto
Plus, Joker actually got caught by the cops. You can argue that it was part of his plan all along, but think of all the encounters he had with Batman, Gordon, the cops, whoever, and they decided not to kill him. Bane wouldn't care. Had Joker been fighting Bane as Gotham's hero, the film would have ended at the party scene. I still like him better as a character, but Bane is the more serious threat. Guest sirmethos
While Nolan Bane is definitely the better fighter of the two, there is nothing to indicate that he is more intelligent, or a better tactician than the Nolan Joker.
Guest bigballerju
Bane not only took over Gotham he forced the army to work for him by making them keep people from leaving Gotham with the threat of the bomb. Bane also outsmarted the cops and trapped them below ground for months. Bane also caused Bruce Wayne to have no money at all with his first attack and all of that. Bane took Bruce's device and turned it into a bomb. He then killed the one person who could stop it. Bane succeeded where Joker failed by turning some of Gotham's civilians over to his side by revealing Harvey Dent's true actions and using that. Bane was also trained by the League of Shadows and probably Talia Al Ghul herself. So yes he is probably a better tactician which is what I saw in Dark Knight Rises. I didn't see anything from Nolan's Joker that made him smarter and a better tactician then Bane.
Guest sirmethos
There is nothing in Dark Knight Rises, that shows that Bane did the planning. Quite the opposite, the movie made it seem like Talia was the brain, with Bane as her right hand and "defender". On the other hand, the Joker did his own planning. Guest bigballerju
No it was never said Talia did all the planning. Throughout most of the movie Bane did the planning.
Guest sirmethos
It was never shown that he did any planning, it was only shown that he executed the plans. Executing plans =/= planning. And it was directly said that he was Talia's "defender", i.e. working for her.
Guest bigballerju
I think Bane came up with alot of the planning to help Talia get revenge for her father's death. Bane was Talia's close friend and she said he loved her. Bane was her Defender for those reasons not because he was working for her as if he were a henchmen. It came off that Bane was her partner and they joined together in planning the destruction of Gotham because of how close they were.
Guest skadoosh
Bane and Talia both planned and executed their take over of Gotham, they share the credit. Bane actually did a lot more than Talia, he was directly involved in all of the major acts of violence, rioting and whatnot, so he's clearly better at it than Talia, and (Spoiler Alert) while he didn't escape the prison himself, he helped Talia do so, protected her from the hordes of other dangerous criminals in the prison and survived there for quite a while himself. The Joker killed, what, five people? And essentially really pissed off Batman and the GCPD. Bane helped take over the entire city and throw it into chaos. Bane is a combatant, too, meaning he would have tactical knowledge superior to the Joker's because the Joker doesn't have to be tactically smart as he doesn't fight much at all. Also, just because he might not have come up with the whole plan himself doesn't mean he's incapable of making his own plans, as he executed every major aspect of the take over, lead the League of Shadows ninjas and obviously helped Talia in general, so he's still an experienced tactician who took part in something far more impressive than what the Joker did. If he is going up against Bane, he will plan accordingly.
Guest LoneWolf
Bane takes it. Just saw the movie last night.. Easily the best of the 3 in my opinion.
Guest xman4life
One is a Warlord and the other is a terrorist. So who REALLY wins. One wanted chaos and the other wanted to change social standings. They both succeded in their plans the only difference is it Bane and Talia planned for it LONGER(if you paid attention to the film this plan of theirs took place in the span of years for Talia to be in the right place at the right time to take over Wayne enterprises and the span of months to act it out fully. Joker was taken down the next day MAX. but there is no clear winner.
Guest LoneWolf
Joker's henchmen would take 1 look at Bane and switch sides immediately.
Guest Redemption X
Typical CBUB goldfish memory. You do know that Jack Nicholson was the ORIGINAL "movie version" of the Joker? And before him, there was Cesar Romero.

Guest Redemption X
My point is that he just said "movie version", acting like Heath Ledger was the only one to portray the Joker on film.

Guest Shoggoth breeder
Use common sense for once. Which Batman franchise is it more likely I'm referring to, the 90s one, or the modern one that just finished?
