After the defeat of shangtsung in the events of mortal kombat 1 , Shao Kahn demands that the sorcerer finds a champion strong enough to defeat the earth realm warriors and claim it as his.

Shao Kahn: "you fool! How can you let the shaolin warrior defeat you!"

Shangtsung: "I am sorry my lord but he was to powerful for me defeat."

Shao Kahn: " then find me some one powerful enough to defeat him or it will be your head sorcerer!"

shangtsung:" yes my lord I will search every realm in order to find the invincible warrior."

Kahn : " don't just search the realms. Remember how you brought me kratos?"

Tsung: " yes sire, I remember."

Kahn : " well then do the same and find a warrior just as powerful.

tsung:"very well master."

Months later…

Tsung : " master I have great news. I have found the warrior you have been seeking!"

Kahn : "very well then, show him to me."

Tsung : " here he is master one of the strongest opponents I have ever faced. Ryu."

Kahn : " well then lets see what he can do. Barracka! Mileena!"

At the emperor's command the two appeared at the foot of the warlord.

Mileena: "yes father."

Kahn:" attack him."

That istant the two attacked Ryu. Barracka attacked him with his blades but ryu dodged the attack, grrabbed the blades and threw the tarkaten at mileena knocking them both out.

Kahn : " impressive. But how will I maintain his control?"

Tsung : " the spell is twice as strong because me and Quan Chi casted the spell."

Kahn : " terrific now to organize the next tournament."

More months have passed and Shao Khan challenges earthealm to a tournament for earthrealm's fate.

Tsung: " the first match will be jhonny cage vs ryu."

The two meet each other at center arena. The gong sounds and the fight has begun. Ryu lands

the first blow with a vicious right jab to the face. Cage counters with a left hook to the side. He then tries a kick to the face but ryu blocks and responds with a high kick of his own. He then ends the fight with a powerful Hadouken.

Tsung: " the winner is ryu. The next fight will be Lui kang vs noob saibot."

Both kombatants exchange words before the gong rings and the battle begins. Right of the bat lui kang starts with a a bicycle kick combo. Noon answeres with a shadow tackle and a teleport slam. Kang gets up fast and shoots a high fire blast and another bicycle kick combo. Noon isn't getting up and Lii lang wins.

Tsung :" Lui kang wins."

After many rounds of fighting there are only two kombatants are left standing the champion , Lui kang vs Ryu.

Welcome to electricferret, ninjaman1848. Hope you enjoy your stay. When making matches here, in the CBUB Batlles Pages, one is expected to make a good, detailed story. If one wants to make a matchup just to see who wins, one should really make that matchup on the CBUB Rumbles Forum. One can even make the matchup using the Rumble option on the control panel, and it will go straight there.

The good news is that you can edit your matches at any time (which I'm pretty sure the posting box said before you typed), so you may want to write in a quick story so you can possibly get a good grade here.

Okay, now that you've put in a set up I can comment. I believe Liu Kang is superior to baseline Ryu. I don't think Ryu would win Mortal Kombat. He'd come really really close but if the fate of the world were in his hands, we'd be bowing to Shao Khan right now. As far as skill, these two are equal but Lui has a bit more power which gives him victory over guys like Goro and Shang Tsung. The only way Ryu would overcome Liu Kang is with some Super Hadou stuff like Akuma, which he refuses to summon. And now let the other side pile on me.

Ryu beats Akuma which beats Bison, which can destroy Liu.

Ryu will lose if he doesn't use his powers that he has in SF4 "The Nothingness"

Ah, a new user listens! :) Not too bad for a first set-up. Decent story, but there's problems with grammar and punctuation. I'll give this one a "C" grade.

As for the match, this could be a tight contest unless Ryu accesses the Satsui no Hadō, which he's not that likely to do.

The difference is that Shao Khan hasn't shown much besides what is in the game (Sirmethos) calls it game mechanics.

Ryu has comic books, games, movies, etc. and all his showings are more impressive than Liu.

Ryu is faster, can muster his chi, really his style is lethal except that he makes it non lethal, but once he goes Dark Ryu, Lui is in for the whopping of his life.

By the way, everything here is A B C logic. look around I am sure you even use that (i.e. Superman has displayed moving a planet, therefore he must be stronger than (insert name here))

Same shit, just different fight.

DSKillz, Ryu always goes beserk and then he masters it gainging a new level of power and skill. Watch or read the Udon Comics.

Good example is the Alpha Movie, where he is being consumed by his dark urges (and is being shot by a huge fireball) He then (right before he gets hit) "masters" his urges and overcomes the darkness and shoots a larger energy attack killing the scientist.

So you saying not likely is well not likely true ;p

Shao Kahn hasn't shown much? He has defeated gods and its known very well his power can be so high that if he reaches 100% by conquering enough worlds he can screw with reality. Even the elder gods fear him. Mortal Kombat 9 showed that Kahn succeeded in killing everyone and taking over Earth. Thats why Raiden sent a message to his past self. Liu Kang defeat Shang Tsung and Kahn because he is the chosen one destined to win Mortal Kombat. Just like Anakin is destined to destroy the Sith and Neo to save Zion and the Matrix.

Liu Kang not only has shapeshifting abilities (Changing into a chinese dragon which he has done) but he has control over the element of fire. Liu Kang obviously can create and even manipulate the fire. Ryu's problem is the fact their is nothing to stop Liu Kang from turning into a dragon and killing him easily. Funny thing is Liu Kang would have no problem doing it if he needed to. Liu Kang is also just as skilled as Ryu on top of it.

Liu Kang wins.

Um sure. More skilled? Not quite, and more powerful is debatable. What good is a dragon when and if ryu can shoot right through him.

And if you are referring to his fatality, by that account doing a friendly would beat ryu too.

A fatality is done when the other guy can't move due to almost being knocked out. Ryu would see him change and attack. And if ryu turns dark, he can teleport.

Liu Kang can teleport too and I never said Liu Kang was more skilled. I said Liu Kang is just as skilled as Ryu which is very true if you know his background. By the way if people like Balrog or Sagat can take a hadouken I'm pretty sure Liu Kang as a big ass dragon can withstand a hadouken. Ryu by the way doesn't exactly teleport like Liu Kang although yes Ryu in Street Fighter 4 is extremely fast to where he can warp.

Ryu's big problem is he doesn't kill and won't even if he uses the Satsui no HadÅ . Liu Kang will kill if it is needed. Ryu won't do a powerful blast that would be capable of killing Liu Kang. Thats not him.

Ryu not killing doesn't mean anything. You trying to kill me doesn't mean you will beat me. it just means that you will try. To me it means that you aren't as skilled if you go for kill whereas someone beating you up and not killing you makes you that much better.

Kenshin is a good example, him not killing doesn't make him weaker, in fact it made him able to master his final move.

Ryu doesn't teleport like nightcrawler if thats what you mean. But if you watch the SF4 anime, he is extremely fast, faster than Liu Kang.

If we used all of MK's moveset as nything but game mechanics, Sonya Blade's kiss is more powerful than a regular hadoken from Ryu.

Oh and Balroq and Sagat take hadoken due to game mechanics. In the comics and animes, his fireballs devastate cars, buildings, and etc.

examples if going by game mechanics alone

Ryu's hadoukens have have destroyed a building only when he taps into the Satsui no HadÅ. (Street Fighter Alpha for example and even then he only destroyed a portion of it not the whole thing) Yes Ryu is faster but Liu Kangs teleportation is fast and quick enough where Ryu's speed won't be a problem. Killing doesn't always mean your not as skilled but in a Tournamant like Mortal Kombat where some battles are to the death it can make a difference. Remember I said Liu Kang from being trained by the White Lotius Society is just as skilled as Ryu.however the difference is Liu Kang wouldnt hestiate to go for the killing blow if he needed to. In Mortal Kombat in a battle like that this will make a difference. Liu Kang and everyone fight in Mortal Kombat not holding anything back anything. Thats a problem for someone like Ryu who does tend to hold back.

Look I like both characters and think both could win it. The problem is on Ryu's side if he doesn't realize from the start he can't hold anything back power and skill wise he will lose the fight. Or worse end up dead.

I love Mk as well and feel opposite as ryu is not a rookie and would sense that Liu is out to kill. You think everyone Ryu fights is not to the death?

Watch the movies again Ryu did not use the dark hadou to destroy part of the building, he was just annoyed of Rose and tried to shoot her.

In the Alpha movie right near the ending credits they are both ( Ryu and Akuma ) on top of some steep rock formations and both fly towards each other. Ryu has defeated Akuma which is known to have destroyed an Island.

AVP thats only true but since Shao Kahn wasn't uber powerful at the time due to not being able to take over the realms which give him his awesome powers, that cannot be counted as fact.

Not true Shao Kahn's power is godlike regardless. I already told you Liu Kang is the chosen one and meant to win Mortal Kombat to save Earth. You can't say its not fact because its in Mortal Kombat's history that Kahn's strength is godlike. Not even Raiden can defeat Kahn and he is Kahn's brother.

Liu Kang can defeat Kahn because as the chosen one he has the power to do so.
