FINALLY, the bell rang. Buffy and the Scoobies got out of their boring as ever classes and met up at the drop off. Buffy noticed her friend Willow wasn't her usual peppy self. "Hey, Willow? You okay?" Her friend shrugged, her usual flaming silky red hair was somewhat bedraggled and there were dark circles under her eyes. "Just a dream, that's all."

*****

Later that night, Oz heard moaning, from the other room. The gang had agreed to have a sleepover to cheer Willow up, they figured after that story about some burned creep with finger-knives she could use some comapny. Oz crept down the hall and saw Willow, snoozing away on the couch with Buffy standing at the window. "Oz, do you know a little town called 'Elm Street?'" Oz cocked his head, "What, that one town that had a bunch of kids killed in their sleep? Story gave me the creeps, why?" Buffy chuckled. "Little brats wouldn't stop screaming. This one, however... Quite feisty. I like it."

She pointed at Willow with a VERY unpleasant smile, and then Oz saw it. Her hand had some crudely made glove on it, and sure enough razors several inches long portruded from them. "Buffy, what are you doing?" She laughed in a voice not her own, and then to Oz' horror she shifted slightly and her image was replaced by a horribly burned and grinning man, with a dusty old fedora and a red and green striped sweater. "Freddy Krueger..." Freddy stepped forward, looking somewhat bemused, "Ah, so you heard of me, huh? I'm flattered!"

Oz tried to move towards Willow but Freddy suddenly pointed his glove at Oz, and with a jolt he suddenly flew back onto the door, grunting in pain. "Uh, uh uh..." Oz looked up, unable to move. "Hey Freddy, I heard you were really scary and crap but really? Red and green? If you want to scare somebody don't dress up like it's Christmas every day..." Trying to sound brave, his taunt unfortunately fell flat as his voice cracked

Freddy scowled. "Now that's the sort of talk that gets the old man angry, little pup. Papa spank..."

He lunged chuckling obscenely, and his claws sank into Oz' shoulder. Squinting his eyes Oz tried to wake up, every Elm Street child who had died had been unable to. Imagining his transformation into a werewolf, the pain, the horror, that would do it, this was a dream after all!

A sudden rush and he was back in his own bed... And bleeding profusely. He ran to Willow, sure that he was awake now, and screamed as he saw her bleeding as well, but the real Buffy was there with the rest. Buffy was absolutely livid, and she stood up, looking at Oz. "It's Freddy Krueger." Oz ran looking for something to bandage his wound "No shit! I didn't think he was actually real. What do we do?" Buffy looked at the group, not about to let some crispy pedophile get to her friends again. "Xander, would you mind getting some first aid kits from the store? I'm really gonna need them."

***

(Whew. That took a while. So the Scooby Gang [buffy, Xander, Willow, Dawn, Oz, and Rupert] have witnessed and survived Freddy's initial attack. Willow and Oz, though wounded, are alright. Freddy is sort of a mix between the original movie and the remake, with his standard powers. Can Buffy help the Scoobies form a plan? And can Buffy find a way to beat Freddy, saving her friends?)

Buffy and co. essentially went through this in one of the episodes of the series, so that experience, combined with all their other monster-fighting know-how, gives them the win here. Buffy is definitely mentally strong enough to take on Freddy in the dream world, and with her gang backing her up, probably putting together some kind of spell to blast up Freddy's burnt-hamburger-esque keister, they can win this.

Freddy would win. I say this because all he really has to do is knock Buffy out, then go into her sweet dreams, and destroy her from the inside out. 'Nuff said.

Good setup. Poor Freddy messed with the wrong gang. He is screwed. That gang has so many resources they can use to kill Freddy.

No. Here's why:

Good setup. Poor Freddy messed with the wrong gang. He is screwed. That gang has so many resources they can use to kill Freddy.

And, y'know, everything i said. Buffy wins, withher friends help, and defeats Freddy, dreamworld or not.

but think about it, technically, Freddy's just a paranormal entity and a legend, until they fall asleep. and they can't stay awake forever. Also, there's never been a spell invented to pull Freddy into the real world exept for grabbing him in your sleep, and waking up. Freddy wins. 'Nuff said.

There has never been a spell invented in Freddy's movies because their was no magic users or anyone with magic in those movies. In the Buffy world they most definitely can make a spell to pull him into the real world. Either that or Buffy who has superhuman abilities does it herself.

yeah, i guess so. But doesn't Freddy also have all of his supernatural powers in the real world as well? at least, if not weakened? He got his head cut off by Jason Voorhees, and just winked at the screen. if that doesn't kill him, then there's no way that Buffy can.

Yeah, exactly. Buffy and co. are winning this, for sure.

No, Freddy has no powers in the real world. That was just a tease for the fans.

Freddy with powers or no powers gets killed. Doesn't matter if he is in the dream world. The gang has defeated demons way more powerful.

Heh, you could've used the Scooby Gang for this. Good set-up, though.

As for the match, I don't know a lot about Buffy and co., but I know a decent amount about Kruger. I've never seen Freddy have to deal with magic forces, so if the Scooby Gang is pretty good with magic, they can definitely win this.

I think Freddy is out of Buffy's league. In the dream world, I think Buffy has the strength of will to be able to ultimately hold her own against Freddy for a while. She wouldn't run & cringe like a frightened rabbit, which would take away some of Freddy's biggest advantages.

Eventually, however, Freddy would find some sort of trick to pull that would ultimately do Buffy in. As he can basically manipulate reality to a large degree in the dream world, I think he'd eventually get the best of Buffy. If Buffy had time to prepare some sort of mystical defense & offense via Giles and Willow, then maybe things would be a bit different.

If Buffy were to pull Freddy into the real world, I'm not all that sure she'd ultimately win either. She's a better fighter than Freddy but Freddy is still awfully damn tough in the real world. In Freddy vs. Jason, he went toe to toe with the much bigger & stronger Jason in the real world even while suffering massive injuries that would've incapacitated or killed a human being almost immediately. Buffy, on the other hand, sometimes looks like she can be taken out pretty easy. She's been incapacitated by a single bullet wound late in the show's run, in which she almost died. So Freddy definitely has far superior toughness. If Buffy could really gain a solid advantage over Freddy and go in for the kill quickly, like maybe lopping off his head, then it's possible. One thing I notice about Buffy, however, is that she sorta wastes some time in a lot of the fights in the old tv show. She makes witty banter and sometimes underestimates who she's fighting. She'd stand a much better chance in a one on one fight in the real world, but Freddy's toughness can't be underestimated.

Buffy has the skills, that smarts and the mental strength to combat Freddy in the dream world, not that Freddy doesn't like to take his time, anyway. Buffy has been in almost exactly this situation before, and she beat her opponent, who was a far superior combatant to Freddy, and survived the whole ordeal. While it would be difficult for her to beat Freddy, as he's more powerful than her opponent in the aforementioned episode, Buffy has plenty of experience dealing with various demons, and the other traits i mentioned, so she can and will win this, albeit eventually.

Oh, and Buffy would definitely beat Freddy in a fight in the real world.

Buffy has killed more powerful demon on a daily basis. Once again Buffy as faced a similar demon before and won. This is literally another day for Buffy. Seriously Ash who is a regular human defeated Freddy who became a reality warper in real world when he got his powers their because of the book and Jason by himself. Freddy has lost to teenagers. Buffy is a highly skilled Slayer of demons, vampires, and monsters of all types. You add in the superhuman abilities she has Freddy gets his ass kicked.
