Guest Square Pickle
[ After Batman vs Elektra (part 1) and Kingpin vs Killer Croc (part 2.) ] (Kingpins HQ, Gotham City) As Elekrta spun through the air and delivered a kick that sent Batman into through the top floor window, Batman responded quickly by firing a grappling hook to catch himself. As he reeled quickly back toward Elektra, he was caught with a kick to the face to follow his well timed save. As he tried to figure out who Elekta was and what her intentions were, he noticed that she did not have lethal intentions (at least not during hand-to-hand combat). Batman also noticed that Elektra was not about to be calmed down through conversation. When she went for another kick, Batman staged a hard fall to the floor and looked to be defeated. Elektra then pulled him to a sitting position, pulled his face close, and began to question The Dark Knight. -Elektra: "Where is the Kingpin?!". -Batman: "Ill tell you, but first... What do you want with him?" -Elektra: "I'm going to make sure he never harms anyone again. Im going to end his reign over the criminal underground for good!". -Batman: "So you're here to stop him?". -Elektra: "Yes... and Ill kill anyone who tries to stop me. So leave the assassin role to the grown ups!". Before Elektra could continue Batman sprayed a mist of light fumes in Elektra's mouth to paralyze her temporarily. As she fell to the ground next to him Batman stood up and confronted Elektra before perusing the Kingpin. -Batman: "Sorry.. You left me little choice. Next time, leave that intimidating interrogations to the adults... Fisk escaped when you were spotted on the roof I'm guessing. His cigar is still burning and all the lights are on. Im going after him. Just keep in mind that I don't like killing in Gotham, anymore than you like murders like the Kingpin hurting those in your town. So next we meet, I hope we can work together.. If you try to kill anyone else though, we wont get along very well... Give it twenty minutes, you'll be able to walk just fine". As Batman continued to trail Fisk through his secret escape route (the guards didn't shut the secret entrance), he could here screaming deep withing the sewer tunnels. He knew it must have been Kingpin and his men. As he got farther down the tunnel, a half eaten corpse floated past him in the sewer runway. "Croc!", Batman thought to himself. When he came upon the Kingpin, he had been torn to shreds by the monstrous Croc. Batman reacted quickly throwing smoke grenades between the two large villains. Kingpin scurried to the wall to avoid Croc finding him. Croc put him nose to the air and then a crazed smile came across his face. -Croc: "Batman! Oh I've been waiting for you for a very long time!". -Batman: "Let him go Croc!". -Croc: "Or what?! You will use more smoke to scare me? I will eat the fat man, and you will be my side dish!". To Croc's delight, he heard someone dive into the water. Running through the smoke, Croc splashed into the runway himself. When he emerged, he realized that it was the body of a henchman he had already killed. Before he could figure out what was going on, Batman threw a freeze capsule next to him in the water. As the water around him froze solid, Croc stiffened as well. As the smoke cleared Batman turned toward Kingpin, but to his expectations Kingpin had already escaped to the streets above during the trapping of Croc. Batman knew that a rich crime boss would have trouble going unnoticed in the streets of Gotham City for long though. He would find out what the Kingpin was planing on another night. For now he had to return home to analyse the situation more. Kingpin ran scared to his safe house just a few blocks from where he climbed up from the sewer. As he cleaned his wounds and cleared his head from the thrashing Croc put on him, Kingpin knew that he could not face Gotham City alone. He decided it was time to call in a few of his old acquaintances from back home. Two nights later, Kingpin was back in his office meeting with The Hobgoblin and Bullseye. Knowing Elektra was still hunting for him somewhere, Fisk knew he was safe as long as he had enough men to keep her busy while he made his get away to the roof, where he could access his newly acquired chopper. With Bullseye and Hobgoblin now in Gotham, Fisk felt more powerful over Elektra and the rouges of Gotham already however. -Bullseye: "I dont get it Kingpin. Ive more than proven myself against Elektra already. Why bring Hobgoblin in?". -Kingpin: "Thats why I brought you here. Elektra isn't the only threat I have here. I was nearly torn apart by a freak in the sewers. Then there's this Bat-man that everyone continues to go on about... I believe he is the one who stopped Elektra and saved me from the sewer beast. He may be an ally. If so, Elektra will be of no threat to us. If he against us... Well, that's why the Hobgoblin is here". -Bullseye: "What should I do then?". -Kingpin: "Simple... Kill Elektra". -Bullseye: "Can do". -Kingpin: "Goblin... Find Batman. See whose side he is truly on. If he does not cooperate, kill him. Either way my friend, we will leave a mark on this city that will not be forgotten". (At Wayne Manor) Bruce Wayne studied everything he could about Elektra, but came up with nothing. It was almost like she had never existed. No one living person in the world matched her description exactly, and the ones who did were quickly dismissed as being the female assassin. Who could she be? Where did she come from? Just then Wayne was caught by surprise by the very woman he was studying. Elektra herself walked into his room as he was researching her whereabouts. Only this time she was dressed in normal clothes, with no weapons visible. -Bruce Wayne: "Umm... Can I help you?". -Elektra: "Yes, I believe you can... Batman". -Batman: "You think I'm Batman?". -Elektra: "I know you are. Anyone who has heard stories about your spaceships and submarines could tell it had to be a billionaire. Then add in the factors of allusive men who happen to be in amazing shape, only one man in the city fits the description... Bruce Wayne". -Bruce Wayne: "I'm afraid you're mistaken". -Elektra: "Am I? Then I guess I came to the wrong person with information about the Kingpin's plan to take over Gotham City". -Bruce Wayne: "Hold on... What do you have on Fisk?". -Elektra: "As I expected... Kingpin is here to you, and take your spot at the head of Wayne Enterprises. Spreading his will and taking over districts of the city until the board has option but to put him anywhere he wants. That means the only reason he hasnt become the new Bruce Wayne of Gotham, is because there's still technically a Bruce Wayne thats already in Gotham. After he takes adds Wayne Enterprises to his resume, he can take over every small business in Gotham. Eventually, no one will be able to stop him". -Bruce Wayne: "It all makes sense now... I knew Kingpin was after something, I just didn't know what it was until now... Why did you tell me about his plan? I though you wanted Fisk dead?". -Elektra: "I do.. but when you spoke to me after our battle the other night, you reminded me so much of a man who I lost to Kingpins reign over New York, that I couldn't let it happen again. You actually care more for the people of Gotham City than you do about revenge over your personal demons. Its so rare, even in heroes". -Bruce Wayne: "You're not the only one who has lost someone you love to people like Fisk. Just remember, there's always a choice. You don't need to kill those who do wrong. Its what separates us from them". -Elektra: "You remind me so much of Matt... I will try to respect your advice while Im in Gotham Bruce, but I do have to defend myself as well... I have to go. We can track down the Kingpin tomorrow night. I took all of the evidence we'll need to take him down for good. If you need my help sooner, you can find me in the old sporting building down town". -Bruce Wayne: "Stay here... I mean... I have guest rooms that are better than anything you'll find down town. Plus we wont need to go very far to meet if Kingpin tries anything tonight". -Elektra: "Does that ever work on girls you just met Mr. Wayne?". -Bruce Wayne: "You'd be surprised". Elektra then set up her weapons in the guest room and took advantage of the many training areas that Wayne Manor offered. As a thunderstorm began to light up the night sky, the Kingpin and his men also trained for the deciding factor in their rise to the top in Gotham City. He sent Hobgoblin and Bullseye out into the city to kill low life gang members and get the attention of Gotham's underground. Most notably the Penguin, who Fisk had been informed of as being somewhat of a "kingpin" in Gotham. It was time to send these men a message. As well as anyone who would oppose them. As the Hobgoblin was flying through the air, on his hover craft, he noticed a woman running away from him on the sidewalk below. With a cackle and an evil grin, the Hobgoblin readied a jack o'lantern grenade, but when he threw it, it was intercepted by a batarang thrown from a nearby rooftop. Before The Hobgoblin could question Batman's relationship to the Kingpin, Batman dove off the building and slammed into the Hobgoblin, knocking him off of his glider. As the two fell Batman swung them both to the top of the building he dove from. He then notice the Hobgoblin using a device to call for his glider to return to him. Before he could, Batman had the nearby Batmobile shoot a grappling hook around it pulling it down the street away from the building, and towards the Batcave. -Batman: "Im guessing you're one of the Kingpin's men while he's in Gotham". -Hobgoblin: "Oh how convenient for me. Just the guy I was looking for. I can see you aren't on our side Batman, so I guess that only leaves me with one option doesn't it. Kill you, then give Kingpin the bad news that you weren't a team player". -Batman: "Ill deal with Kingpin later! For hurting innocent people in Gotham, Ill deal with you now!". As Hobgoblin prepared another jack o'lantern grenade, Batman threw a smoke bomb. Can Batman defeat the Hobgoblin on the rooftop and get one step closer to the Kingpin? Can the Hobgoblin defeat Batman without his glider? Who will walk away from this battle, and who will be a stepping stone to taking control in Gotham City? Guest Square Pickle
2099... Im just kidding. This is the 1986 version from the 616 universe.
Guest sirmethos
I was thinking more along the lines of, who is behind the mask. Are we dealing with Roderick, Macendale, Lefty Donovan, Ned Leeds, Daniel(kingsley), the unnamed Hobgoblin, or Urich?
Guest bigballerju
He is talking about Roderick Kingsley since he said 1986. Roderick was always the real Hobgoblin manipulating from behind the scenes around that time in the comics. I may go with Roderick Kingsley's Hobgoblin since thats him being used here. His Hobgoblin was smart, creative, manipulative, and his formula was made to better then Norman Osborn's. Roderick has done of the negative side effects and his physical abilities surpass Norman Osborn's Green Goblin. He almost beat Spiderman and his weapons were on par with the Green Goblin's. Hobgoblin doesn't need his glider to defeat Batman.
Guest Square Pickle
Kingsley.. No glider, and a bag filled with (lets say) 10 Jack O'Lantern's. Batman has smoke grenades and (to make it fair) 10 batarangs.
Guest sirmethos
If it's Roderick, then Hobgoblin wins.
Guest Square Pickle
Interestingly enough, Im counting on Hobby to win. It would make writing part 4 much more interesting. Its easy to guess where the story will go if Batman wins, but there will be far more twists if Hobgoblin can pick up a win over the Bat.
Guest batmanKing989
dang, i love batman but hobgoblin is more..ya know, but still batman might have elektra help or something and batman has fought villains before like this hmmm :/ i'll have to think about this

Dark Spider-man
Excellent Set-up, man I'm digging this story. I have to agree with on this, Roderick is superior in strengths and whatnot and jus down right cold-blooded. Batman facing people like Bane, Croc, etc, I think he can do some damage to Roderick not beat him but hurt him.

DSkillz
Good set-up, SP. These are interesting twists this arc is taking. As for the match, Roderick's far superior strength and quickness should be the main factors that give him the win in this scuffle. He takes Batman down and probably takes Bats to his first confrontation with the Kingpin.
Guest Caleb
Batman will kill him, he has a superior intellect, more martial skill, he is faster, he has more equipment, and he is stronger overall. Hobby is ok, but he is no where near the level of excellence that batman is at. Batman will destroy him...

Hobby is ok, but he is no where near the level of excellence that batman is at. Batman will destroy him... Superior intellect, more martial skill, and more equipment. That much is true. But Hobgoblin is a lot stronger, faster and more durable. Hobgoblin is strong enough, that if he hits Batman even a single time, with a full powered punch, Batman goes *splat*. And durable enough that Batman could be punching him all day, with no real damage to Hobgoblin.
Guest John
Hobgoblin is stronger than batman, but it is how batman uses his strength that makes it significant. Batman is said to have been able to "hit harder than most being with super human strength"- Deathstroke, he has also done things like punching swat officers through brick walls. Aside from that, he can press 1000 lbs, which doesn't put him too far behind the hob goblin. As for speed, yes hobgoblin is faster than batman is, but this all comes down to how he uses it. Batman has done things like catching arrows and point blank gunfire, his reflexes and speed are not far behind the hobgoblins. Lastly, batman is brilliant, and he always finds way to beat his opponents instead of just fighting them head on. He would be able to exploit the hob goblins weaknesses such as his narcissistic behaviour to the point where he could beat him.
Guest bigballerju
Yeah umm Hobgoblin almost defeated Spiderman who is superior to Batman in most areas. Seriously one hit from Hobgoblin and Batman indeed goes splat.

He would be able to exploit the hob goblins weaknesses such as his narcissistic behaviour to the point where he could beat him. Batman is physically(strength, speed, reflexes, durability) a Peak Human.Hobgoblin is physically around 20 times better than peak human(about 10 tons of strength, with speed, reflexes and durability enhanced to equivalent levels). If it was a contest of pure skill, then Batman would win hands down. But Hobgoblin is durable enough that Batman could punch away on him all day, without doing anything except making himself tired. Fast enough that he can pretty much hit Batman whenever he(hobgoblin) wants to. And strong enough that Batman would go *splat* if Hobgoblin hits him, just once, with a full powered punch. With the difference in raw power and durability, Hobgoblin doesn't have to be smarter, he can just rush Batman, take whatever Batman can throw at him in the few seconds it takes Hobgoblin to reach him, and take him(batman) out with a single good punch. Also, Hobgoblin is far from stupid. His intelligence was enhanced along with his physical stats.
