Magneto couldn't affect Iron Man because the metal fiber underlay is replaced by Carbon Nanotube. Iron Man would be able to take out Magneto. Hes long shown that he can easily make it so Magneto can't affect his armor.

To me though, the amount of metal throughout the island should have been a great advantage though

There's a great amount of metal almost everywhere to Magneto. Iron Man's durability and regen, not to mention his strength, is such that Magneto throwing pieces of metal at him isn't that much of a worrying factor.

He wasnt just throwing pieces of metal. He dropped a 180 ton column on top of him.

Which would do absolutely nothing to Iron Man.

Well actually it crushed him beneath and Tony remarked it hurt just to move afterward.

Granted what happened in the comic happened so there is no changing it. Although Tony remarks in the Consequences series that he couldnt beat Magneto every time.

Yeah but he can beat Magneto which he did. The fight explained clearly why Ironman was able to defeat Magneto. That's actually one of the fights where the right person won.

Other than the part where they move into space in the stretch of one panel and Iron Man somehow harnesses the magnetic field of Jupiter from millions of miles away in an instant. Then in the end, Magneto resorted to punches?

Well, if anything, the part where the pillar hit him and actually hurt him is the only "unrealistic" point in the comic. The armor's near immune to Kinetic impact.

So thats why punches by powerful people hurt him right?

Powerful people as in, above Thor level. As in The Worthy in Fear Itself, someone who has the physical power to easily shatter planets. Not a 180 ton column.

Well we all saw what happens when he squares off with Hulk or Thor. Iron Man is not invincible

Well, he usually beats Hulk. He can beat Savage Hulk in his classic armor, forget about Bleeding Edge. And Thor is a planet-shattering physical power that I mentioned in my last post. Also, Iron Man beats non-Odinforce Thor more times than the other way around.

At the end of the day, Magneto couldnt manipulate the energy that powers the suit like he has to other beings? His mutant power is so versatile yet he loses to a man in an Iron suit? That is unrealistic.

and example would be nice instead of hear say. Seeing as how Magneto has shown power enough to tamper with a Celestial.

Thought that Iron Man beat Thor more often due to Thor restraining himself more often than not. :P

If Thor let loose, and it doesn't have to be Odinforce Thor, could just be Classic Thor, he'd defeat Tony more often than he's lost.

Though with Stark's newest armor, that might not be the case anymore... actually Thor might still have a chance.

And Tony's armors has shown the ability to basically nullify magnetic energies (I recall a scan by Force at one point a long ass while ago), so it doesn't even have to be that he replaces metallic parts... which is hilarious.

How is he going to nullify a small part when Magneto has the power to lift the island of Utopia into space, which would be considerably harder. Guess its another one of Tony Stark's mysteries of comics.

If Ironman is smart enough to create a device that was actually able to harm the Phoenix Force to certain degree and split it into portions among 5 people then yea he can create a screw to counter Magneto's powers.

Sirmethos and I already covered this. It didnt harm the Phoenix. Hope didnt want the Force and she could feel that it did not want here either,

He can just build a device where it does the same thing as Thor's hammer where it literally sucked the electromagnetic energies away from Magneto, thus rendering him effectively powerless.

All I meant was that he's made his armor immune to Magneto's manipulation in my prior post btw.

I'm pretty sure the only thing you have supporting this is a quote BY Thor. In a Thor comic.

He didn't replace magnetic parts to specifically battle Magneto, as Legacy said, he didn't even know he was going to be fighting Magneto. Carbon Nanotubes are just a part of the Bleeding Edge armor, because they're stronger than the metal network he was previously using.

I get. Oh well. It happened. Just doesnt seem plausible to me to beat the Master of Magnetism in a metal suit on an island made of metal.
