Namor gets embarrassed by Wolverine despite having been in brawls with guys like Thor, Beta Ray Bill and others. And yes, having won some of those(purely physical) fightsSentry gets embarrassed by Hercules and She-Hulk(neither of whom could keep up with WWHulk) and yet fights evenly(or close to it) with WWHulkCount Nefaria gets owned by the New Avengers despite laughing off attacks by Thor Et cetera. That's why we (have to)go by either:A: Their stated capabilities or B: Specific versions of the characters. I.e. the character from a specific author(and that author's specific run). Namor is a class 100 "incalculable" strength according to Marvel at his strongest, which is why I say purely physically, he can hang with most of the other physical powerhouses. When they bring in their more versatile powers, like the Godblast(Thor) or matter manipulation(Sentry) or etc, yeah Namor gets his ass kicked. Guest sirmethos Posted November 17, 2012 Share Posted November 17, 2012 Namor can hang with some of them, yes. At least in terms of pure strength. But strength is not the only factor. As already pointed out, people like Sentry, Thor, Blue Marvel, Nefaria, etc. are all capable of speeds that are considerably beyond what Namor is capable of. But more than that. Thor and Hercules both have combat skills and combat experience, that is far above that of Namor's. Hulk, She-Hulk, Thor, Hercules, etc. all have regeneration that is more effective than Namor's. Which is most definitely a factor in close-combat. Hulk, Thor, Hercules, among others, have durability beyond anything shown from Namor. Hulk, She-Hulk, Thor, Blue Marvel, among others, all have variable strength(i.e. their strength can increase considerably above their 'base' level). While Namor's strength is pretty much static(his top strength, while fully hydrated, being the one stated). Hulk, She-Hulk and Blue Marvel, all have constantly increasing strength, while Thor has his Belt, and the option of entering Berserker Rage(which, granted, takes away several of his other advantages). Then there is the fact that some, like Thor and Hercules, are known to use only a part of their strength when they are on earth. Which again, would shift the odds further away from Namor in an all out fight. That is not to say that Namor doesn't have any factors that add to his side of the match. His ability to mimic aquatic life, is definitely a factor as well, albeit a minor one. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
