corvette1710
ARKHAM ASYLUM SECURITY CAMERA FEED 19003 17:29:45 Two Arkham security guards dressed in black but in a policeman style hold a man by the arms, forcing them behind his back. Otherwise, he'd probably break their necks. The man is masked, a slightly distended part of the bag over his head denoting some sort of mouthpiece or breathing apparatus, obviously bulky. They sit him down at a table. The surface is cold metal, metallic in look and reflective. A one-way mirror is on the man's right side. Behind it are a multitude of scientists in suits and ties; not really identifying markers that one's a scientist, but these scientists weren't working with chemicals, so white labcoats were unneeded. These were psychologists from all over the globe, the best money could buy. They watch as the bag is held firmly over his head, but his arms brought to a more comfortable position on his lap, with his arms crossed and his wrists being the vertex, and his head is tilted down towards the table. He looks menacing even in an Arkham jumpsuit. ****** ARKHAM ASYLUM SECURITY CAMERA FEED 19004 17:43:19 Another man is brought in. There are no blemishes to the surface of his bag. Only the fact that he was looking directly through the glass at the scientists denoted he was aware of his surroundings. He has his hands behind his back though, and they're tied there firmly with a zip-cord. They looked tight, and his wrists were chafed and red. He is silent as the shadow he casts. Not even his breathing is audible to the highly sensitive auditory camera receivers. His pulse, though, stands out like the rhythm of a famous song. Da-dum. Da-dum. Da-dum. Da-dum. Da-dum. By now he'd stopped looking at them and was instead focused on the table he knew was right in front of him. ****** NOTES OF DOCTOR HENRICH BERNSTEIN, PH.D The subjects do not seem to acknowledge one another, but they seem aware of each others' presence. Perhaps they do not want to become the instigator through starting a conversation? If this theory is correct, then No, they have started a conversation. I will count on the recorder to make the notes. ****** NOTES OF JAMES SMITH, RECORDER "Who is it that sits across from me?" "Bane. I return query." "Doctor Hannibal Lecter." "Have you any idea why they have isolated us from the rest?" "A social or psychological experiment, no doubt. Though if they are using such a scientific method, what is the control group?" "Perhaps they'd like to correct themselves afterwards by cross-referencing our conversation with that of the other, common inmates." "Indeed, though that would get them nowhere as they'd have to see how a control group reacts with our conversation. Now, they should be sending one in to fulfill my implied request." "Ingenious, Doctor Lecter." "When do you suppose they'll remove our bags, as they're an independent variable, as are we? They cannot have two independent variables." "Nor can these bonds do; they are independent as well. They cannot possibly think to conduct an experiment under such heinous methodic conditions." ****** ARKHAM ASYLUM SECURITY CAMERA FEED 19004 17:47:56 The bags are removed from subjects' heads. An inmate representing a control group is placed within the room, and the bonds are taken from the original two subjects' wrists. They do not move as the inmate quivers under Subject 1 "Bane" and his immense size, though his reputation seems to precede him as well. Subject 2 "Hannibal" is calm and composed, staring through the eyes of a ruthless murderer at the control inmate. His muzzle prevents his nature of cannibalism and utter humiliation of the victim, but his hands are free. Yet no subjects have moved a muscle since being unbound. ****** NOTES OF JAMES SMITH, RECORDER: 2 "Doctor Hannibal, it appears they have obliged our observations so as to fit with scientific method. In case you must be reminded, the order goes as follows. Problem, research, hypothesis, experiment, conclusion. You must have a control variable, independent variables, and data. I do hope you've done your homework." "Bane, if I wished to give them a lecture on the scientific method, I'd have become a science professor." "Regardless, they're doing things incorrectly. By the way, shall we move our seats so the length of the table is parallel to us?" "They are bolted down." "That isn't a problem. Would you like a seat?" "Wh-What?" "Would. You. Like. A. Seat?" "Um... um... sure..." "Doctor Lecter, if you'd kindly remove your gluteous maximus from your seat, I'll be moving it." "Of course, Bane." ****** NOTES OF DOCTOR JIN WU, PH.D Subjects are conversing in a tone denoting nonchalance. Unfitting for their situation, but I suppose the reason they're part of this experiment is because of their psychological faults. Subject 1 is now ripping the metal chair from it's position, after Subject 2's mention of them being bolted down. He's smashed the chair into the ground at an angle, putting it slightly forwards so one must depend on the constitution of one's legs. He's now done the same with another one, and is now using the stool placed in the corner for the seat of the control inmate. ****** ARKHAM ASYLUM SECURITY CAMERA FEED 19005 18:02:35 Bane slid easily into the seat, leaning forwards and placing his massive forearms on the table, in the style of having crossed arms. "Doctor Lecter, how do you feel about chess?" "It is my favorite game." "Is it? They'll bring one in. Make it three-player chess to include our control." "Three player chess?" Lecter's head cocked at an angle, a slight smirk on his face beneath his muzzle. "Yes. Why? Does this sound unusual to you?" "I have always thought chess was merely a two-player game." "It is, at least primarily. There are many different types of chess, though." "Interesting. Do you suppose they even have a three-player chessboard?" "They'd better, or our poor control group will suffer for it." "How?" "In a few moments when they bring a two-player board in, I'll snap his neck. That way, we can play chess unhindered." "I wasn't aware of another person being a hindrance." "You are now." "Obviously. Though I must ask you, Bane. What gives you the urge to snap a person's neck? Why not flay them?" "I rarely handle weapons, much less knives such as ones used for flaying." "I think you must try it when you escape." "What makes you so sure I will escape, if I may ask?" "In the brief minutes we've spent together, I've come to know you entirely. Your breath clouds the room in noxious odor, denoting you had a form of garlic or onion for a midday meal today. You are quite obviously well-versed and intelligent, making you a prime suspect of escape. Nextly, you can easily overpower anyone on the way out, using such assisted muscle as those." "And in the brief minutes I've known you, your thought patterns began to intrigue me. Now they're all very, very clear. You find that people are no more than objects, pawns, if you will." The chess set is put between the two of them. Bane was playing the white side, so he moved a pawn to exaggerate his point. "It depends on the person, Bane. Commoners, they're pawns." He moved a pawn as well. "But those who challenge me mentally are considered to be back-row material. Rooks, bishops, all of it. Only I am ever King, though. That cannot change in the scope that is my mind." "I suppose I will have to correct your thought processes, Doctor Lecter." "Be my guest, Bane. Allow me to see into your thoughts." Bane pushed the chess set violently to the side and jabbed his head, neck, and shoulders forwards. His eyes were narrowed. "You want to play mind games? I will match you strike for strike." "I'm sure you will. That's why we're playing. It will be interesting." ******Bane vs Doctor Hannibal Lecter in a battle of straight wits (like a debate but over no particular subject but rounding psychology)Vote, comment, rate, and we'll find out!Signed, Corvette1710. corvette1710
Before rating, allow me to fix the coding bugs concerning fonts... By the way, this is an amalgam of comics Bane and TDKR Bane. CORVEDIT: Fixed. Times New Roman did the trick. Rate as you so please.
Xenerack5
Wow that was cool.I think Dr Lector has met his match. Bane can match him at mind games and if he decides he is tired of Lector than the doctor will have a life span of about 7 seconds.

Guest skadoosh
I'm not actually sure which of these two is the more psychologically knowledgeable, but the moment Bane gets fed up of Hannibal's mind games he will end the doctor swiftly and easily. corvette1710
Thanks, Skadoosh. What did you think of the setup?
kainboa
Considering that this is an Amalgam of comics Bane and TDKR Bane, he is easily the intellectual equal of Hannibal Lecter. However as far as we know, he doesn't actually have any particular training in psychology, which leaves him at a slight disadvantage. Considering that this is purely a 'mental' battle, in a variety of topics, but with a psychological base, I'm leaning towards Lecter as the winner. The setup is pretty good, the format is pretty cool, making it a somewhat different experience than the usual ones. However there were a few errors as I pointed out to you on the chat, both in the setup and the characterization, so I'm sticking with a 'B' rating. corvette1710
Thanks Kain; I hear your points and as I said in chat will work on characterization of Lecter in the future.
AVP vs The Terminator
Lecter verbally smacks Bane down from the beginning, countering his every move, casually sidestepping any attempts to get into Lecter's mind, and deducing every traumatic event that occurred in Bane's childhood. And then, Bane breaks his neck.

Guest skadoosh
Thanks, Skadoosh. What did you think of the setup? You're welcome. You made a very cool match, and you gave it a worthy set up. I liked it.. I love face off scenes, and that's what a lot of it was, so i would like it. I thought you got the characters of Bane and Lecter pretty much spot on, and while i wasn't actually quaking in my boots, it was nice and tense at the end. You get a B from me, dude. Also, i think i'll have to go with Lecter as the winner of the mind games, because he is the more psychologically adept of the two, but i doubt Bane will let him live for long once he's won. corvette1710
Cool beans, Skadoosh. I wasn't actually going for creepy or scary so much as competitive and tense (which I appeared to have succeeded in making the setup). I think I'll make a creepy match sometime soon. Guest skadoosh
Yeah, you got the tension between these two down very well. They had the grudging-mutual-respect thing you would expect them to have for each other.
Guest Enter Your Name
Bane is actually pretty smart in the comics, before they made roid rage versions o him. with venom, ( the super drug he uses) he is as strong as around 10 men, and an amazing fighter. Hannibal would have to outhink him in every way with no room for error to win.
DSkillz
Whoa, nice set-up, corvette. Unique way of setting things up here. Since I haven't seen TDK yet, and this is an amalgam of TDK Bane and comics Bane, I can't say with certainty how he'd match up with Hannibal intellectually. Bane is actually pretty smart in the comics, before they made roid rage versions o him. with venom, ( the super drug he uses) he is as strong as around 10 men, and an amazing fighter. Hannibal would have to outhink him in every way with no room for error to win. Yeah, most of us here knew those things about Bane. The thing is, though, this match is strictly a battle of wits and Bane doesn't have his venom feed here.
