I wonder, between these two, who would have a harder time escaping the clutches of a supermassive black hole, with the black hole's event horizon being the starting line... And that killed him when he utilized it against a villain. That's the highest I've heard he's able to go (pre-crisis leastways). I'm not too knowledgeable about the character myself, so he could actually be much, much faster. My memory is really hazy on this point, so I'm probably wrong. However, Surfer is actually able to teleport the distance. He's not hindered by having to cross it. So, in a race, without all the stops, Surfer wins due to that.
