I agree, your evidence shows that a character operating at Gotenks' level can't reach light speed. I don't think that's inconsistent with the show's math. They started with Goku moving along Snake Way (much slower than Gotenks) and extrapolated based on the stated power level increases. SS-4 Goku is the first version to be able to do FTL speeds. SS-4 Goku - 2.3 x light speedSS-3 Goku - 0.23 x light speedSS-2 Goku - 0.0575 x light speedSS-1 Goku - 0.02875 x light speed The version of Gotenks that ran around the earth was SS-1 Gotenks, who was less powerful than Super-Buu, who (before his power increase) was less powerful than SS-3 Goku. In other words, SS-1 Gotenks is considerably weaker than SS-3 Goku and must be slower than his 0.23 lightspeed velocity as well. This is consistent with your observations. When they were discussing durability, they used the total output of Dr. Gero's bomb and the supernova to measure the heroes' durability. Thing is, these explosions weren't focused on them, they were omnidirectional. Most of the energy headed off in other directions so whet they had to withstand was much lower than the total output. Seems to me that Goku is actually more on par with Thor than Superman. After seeing those Superman stats I'd say Thor is only on Supe's level due to high octane levels of Asgardian magic. With both Goku's and Thor's strength being closer (per Screw Attack), both having ridiculous fighting ability, both having magical weaponry, both having power projectiles.. Thankfully they ignored Pre-Crisis featss because of the Crisis on Infinite Earths reboot but ignored the fact that he was rebooted again in 2011.
