Nesh Posted January 18, 2013 Share Posted January 18, 2013 Written for the January challenge Dante was not a happy man. Capcom had rebooted him, one of their flagship characters and for what? For an Edward Cullen wannabe. Damn Capcom and damn Ninja Theory. So now the Classic Dante sat in a corner of the Khazan bar, trying, and failing, to get drunk due to his demon blood. Of all the superpowers he had, anti-intoxication was the most annoying. He coudn’’t even drink away his problems like a normal person. Dante was so busy wallowing in his uncharacteristic, but justified self-pity that he didn’t notice the doors to the bar get pushed wide open. He didn’t notice who had walked in, exuding what kids these days called swag. He didn’t notice the source of all his problems until DmC Dante spoke. “So there’s the has been, I’ve been looking all over for you.†DmC Dante said to his classic counterpart, his voice dripping with smugness. Classic Dante turned to look at him with a death glare and the normal near riotous bar went deathly quiet, everyone knew something like this was coming ever since the Devil May Cry reboot was announced. The only question now was how this meeting would turn out. “What do you want?†Classic Dante asked. DmC Dante smiled a sadistic smile as the bar’s jukebox started a new song, funnily enough it was “ †from the Devil May Cry 4 soundtrack. The time has come and so have I “What do I want? I want to put you out of your misery, you fossil,†DmC Dante said, “You’re a relic of a bygone era and are no longer needed. It’s time to end you.†Classic stood up and laughed. “You’re welcome to try kid, I’ll be glad to smear your guts all over these walls. I’ll personally avenge all the fans that are outraged with this change. You may have broken the fanbase in half but don’t think that won’t stop me from kicking your ass.†I’ll laugh last cause you came to dieThe damage done, the pain subsidesAnd I can see the fear clear when I look in your eye “I just hope you can keep up enough to make it interesting old man,†DmC said. I’ll never kneel and I’ll never rest, “I won’t go down easily.†You can tear the heart from my chest I’ll make you see what I do best “I’ll show you what a real demon hunter can do rookie.†Classic said. I’ll succeed as you breathe your very last breath “Give it up classic, my game is out, your time is over.†Now I know how the angel fell “I hear your mommy’s an angel,†Classic quipped, “She must be so ashamed to have a son like you.†I know the tale and I know it too well “*vulgarity* you, it’s better than rehashing your old tired backstory.†DmC said I'll make you wish you had a soul to sell,when I strike you down straight to hell “When you get to Hell say hi to the family,†Classic said My army comes from deep within,beneath my soul, beneath my skin “At least the fans like me.†As you’re ending I'm about to begin, “Yeah, sure they do that’s why they made me. Just step aside and let me shine.†DmC said. my strength is pain and I'll never give in “I’ve been through more crap than you can possibly imagine, I’m not giving up that easily.†Classic Dante declared. I'll tell you now, I'm one to survive “Face the facts they’re making my games now, give up.†DmC Dante said. You'll never break my faith or my stride “Make me.†Classic challenged. I’ll have you choke on your own demise “I’ll be happy to grind you into the dust and make you admit that you’re a washed up has been who needed a reboot.†DmC got ready for a fight. I'll make the angel scream and the devil cry “Are you kidding kid, I’ll send you back to mommy and daddy beaten and broken.†Classic also got ready for a fight. DmC Dante has all his powers, weapons, and abilities from his game. Classic Dante has all the powers, weapons and abilities from Devil May Cry 3 Arena: Khazan bar Winning condidition: Death or K.O. So, despite that possible wild card, Dante Classic has this in a stomp. Even if you take him from DMC3 (his youngest chronological appearance) he's still older and more experienced than new Dante (although that one could be open for debate depending on what light is shed on New Dante through his game). Given that the DMC4 theme was playing, I'm assuming this is DMC4 Dante, and that makes this match all but a stomp, just based on the progression of Dante Classic's powers. In short we have a younger, cockier, Dante vs his much older, more experienced counter part. I see this playing out very similar to Dante and Nero's fights in DMC4,, including New Dante getting a surprise upper hand and making it look like he's going to win thanks to the angelic weapons.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIpbY_TjzkAbut with the mutual respect and understanding earned at the end taken out and replaced with unholy ass kicking. Still, I believe that DMC3 Dante is older than DmC Dante and so experience would still be in Dante Classic's favor, just not to as much of a degree.
