The people from Earth 345 have finally managed to break into our world, and these things have escaped into it. I hope they haven’t come to steal our dragon balls again. “Heh heh, balls. Bruce glares his way. “Shut up Damian.†“Yes Father.†The pair of invaders come up clearly on the bat-monitor; Bruce observes them carefully as they destroy Star City. They weren’t using any particular strategy or pattern, just laying waste to anything beneath them with blasts of colorful energy. A glowing green arrow soars towards them. Bruce knew that Oliver was wasting his time; these weren’t Kryptonians. The arrow explodes in a haze of green radiation. The attackers seem less than phased by the effects, and slightly more than annoyed. They send volleys of energy into the general direction the arrow was fired, annihilating anything in the vicinity. As Bruce watches, the short bald man next to him floats upwards to speak to Bruce face to face. “So there’s something I didn’t mention before, these two aren’t human.†“I know,†Bruce says, “They’re machines. Androids meant to look human.†“How’d you know that?†“I’m Batman.†Krillin pauses. “Right, but that doesn’t answer the question,†“There’s no time to explain all my methods. What do you know of the androids?†“Not much. They were created by Dr. Gero, they’re evil, have a replenishing power supply, and just really like blowing stuff up.†“Did this Dr. Gero have any sort of failsafe for them, something to control them.†“We think so,†Krillin says, “but Bulma was never able to replicate anything before they broke out of the mystical plot-vortex and into your world. Though I do have some technical data on this flash drive.†He hands it over to Bruce who immediately plugs it into the computer. “Do you think you can get anything useful from it?†“Are you kidding, I’m Batman.†“…So is that a yes, or?†Bruce doesn’t answer. In his head he weighs out all the variables. The androids were in Star City now and were progressing slowly across the continent. It would take them somewhere between 3-5 days to make to make it to Gotham as they destroyed every other city along the way. Because he doesn’t really care about cities that aren’t Gotham, Bruce saw this as a 3-5 day prep period. His allies would be almost non-existent. The Bat-family was too untrained for this kind of combat, but they could be useful in evacuating the city before the fight. Clark was off-planet as was Martian Manhunter. Diana wasn’t talking to him anymore after the that incident with her mom, Oliver was probably dead as of eighteen seconds ago, and Flash had the flu, and if he tried to help then everyone else would get it, which would be ridiculous, so he aught to just stay at home. Bruce turned to the inter-dimensional visitor. “Would you be able to finish them off if I could distract them long enough.†“Are you joking,†Krillin replies, “look it me, I’m like four feet tall. These two tore through Vegeta, Piccolo, Yamcha, and everybody else except Goku, who just couldn’t be bothered to show up apparently. There’s no way I could fight them.†“I see,†Bruce replies, “Well then its probably for the best. You’d be likely to fall in love with the female looking one and screw the whole plan up, damning the world because of your insatiable lust for a mechanical seductress.†“I would not.†Then he thought about it. Then he looked back to the screen and ogled Android 18 for a few seconds longer than appropriate. “You know what, you may have a point.†He looked back, Batman was gone, disappeared into the darkness of the cave. “Wow, that is just…incredibly rude.†“You get used to it,†Damian says, finally willing to stop shutting up once his Father was gone, “It’s just who he is.†“Yeah, ‘I’m Batman’ and all that… So what do we do now?†Damian shrugs. “Can you teach me how to fly?†“I guess…†-------------------------- (3-5 days laterish…) Eighteen decided that the Gap Store needed a good blowing up. Also the Pottery Barn and the Walmart. Only Forever Twenty One was spared. She truly was evil. Bludhaven was in ashes. Just as she was about to demolish a food court, she and Seventeen both heard a harsh, grizzled voice that seem to play inside their heads. “Attention Androids.†Eighteen turns to her brother. “Is he talking to us?†“Do you see any other androids around here?†“I was just asking. Geez.†“I am the Batman,†the voice tells them, “I am the Hero of Gotham. I have linked into your radio transceivers to give you this message.†“What is he saying?†Seventeen asks, “He sounds like he’s gargling with gravel and whiskey.†“Come to Gotham,†Batman says, “You want a challenge don’t you? Someone at your level, who can do more than just run in fear. Come to Gotham if you’re not afraid, I’ll be waiting…†The transmission ends. The androids turn to each other. “You want to go?†Eighteen asks. Seventeen shrugs. “Meh, I’m easy. Besides, it’s not like anyone could ever use our arrogance against us to manipulate us into falling into a trap because we feel the need to assert our superiority.†“I think that may be exactly what’s happening.†“No, I don’t think so,†Seventeen says, “Huebris only affects tiny people who are weaker and less important than me. Come on, let’s go kick man-bat’s butt.†He flew up into the sky and eighteen reluctantly followed. The pair blasted off towards Gotham’s skyline in the distance… ------------Nitty Gritty: Fight takes place in an evacuated Gotham much like the final fight in Dark Knight Returns. I’m using the strongest level of Batman which I consider to be the pre-new 52 Batman, as in capping Darkseid and planning on how to take down Superman and the rest of the league in his spare-time Batman. Batman has at most 5 days of prep. He has the same technical information that the Z fighters got. Can he figure out a way to take down the androids?
