The Illuminati vs Black Adam

1. There was another time they fought though, in Thor's own comic, back when Thor Girl was around... either Gladiator won, or it was inconclusive. Can't remember.

2. Meh. It comes down to Marvel's word vs feats. Stated capabilities are good as a baseline, but when they have feats that exceed 'em, they're just as valid. Unless they're completely ridiculous, of course. Spider-Man is not fast enough to blitz Firelord. :P

1. I remember Gladiator fighting Thor without his hammer and Gladiator was struggling.

2. True.

But neither old regular 616 Hyperion, Gladiator, Wonder Man, or Sentry are Black Adams or Supermans level when it comes to physical strength..The only impressive strength feat Gladiator did was busting a planet with his hands but he only did that once and it is sometimes argued that it was a moon.

Sentry came back and beat him. We don't even know how powerful Thor in King Hyperions universe was, he was even said to have killed Galactus. And the Hyperion that Blue Marvel faught was a mentally deranged one...

No one said that makes him less powerful and I already argued with you that Hickman wasn't really clear about him surviving two universes and said that he will post more about it.

And Hyperion struggled with Gladiator and lost, Thor easily beat Gladiator. And that was the 616 one and not the new one.

Post a article where Hickman said he wasn't sure. Until then the new 616 Hyperion survived two universes exploding which it showed and said in the comic.

Also Gladiator busted a planet. Unless Marvel stated he did otherwise it's a planet he busted regardless of what fans believe.

Dude I already posted a scan on the comic book thread on how It was described as a cascading explosion...

Read my other posts...I already said Gladiator can bust a planet, yet Thor has beat him. Busting a planet in American comics is not even a difficult feat... Superman and Black Adam can bust one. Thor and Beta Ray Bill can and they are not above herald level. Binary can bust a planet...

all they have to do is destract him for less then a second while xaiver gets in his head gladiator is on the same level as black adam in the strength and speed the fact that blackbolt was able to fight him he could hold adam back for a few seconds for stange and charles to put adam down.

One thing that most people seem to be forgetting, is that Black Adam is capable of fighting at superspeed, something that none of the Illuminati are.

And since he's just trying to kill everybody, he's likely to use his full physical power in each strike, rather than holding back in order to reduce the amount of casualties, which means that unless the Illuminati members are capable of withstanding the amount of physical damage that multiple strikes of a Superman level being will inflict on them, they will be turned into a fine red mist before they even know what's hitting them

Tony Stark, Namor, and Black Bolt all have superhuman reflexes. Strange has a defense against speed blitzes in the Eye of Agamatto.

I took it to mean only his overall level of magical power not so much his mystical artifacts. If he can't use the artifacts that come with the title, then no. Still though, Namor, Black Bolt, and Iron Man all have superhuman reflexes.

But none of the above cam react FTL. Adam has the ability to attack like that. Seeing as how he is in a rage, he won't hold back. He will give full force to his attacks. Every strike will be aimed to kill. People seem to be forgetting that Adam is more than strength speed and durability. He has his magic as well

Who was that scan from explaining the explosion? If it wasn't from Marvel it has no meaning and is not important. It can not be used to support anything.

Busting a planet, moving it, or anything like that is a feat that shows you have a high level of super-strength. Not a easy feat. If it were people like Spiderman would be doing it.

I don't think you fully understood my post. Anyone at least a bit below Supermans level can bust a planet or end all life on a planet. In American comics Iron Man could have the potential to destroy a planet if a writer ever decides to make him that strong. In American comics anyone could get a massive upgrade and bust a planet, that's my point. Busting a planet is not really big feat in comics since any character at least a bit below Supes level can do it. And no one mentioned moving a planets....

Anyways I'm getting back on topic, the sole reason Black Adam wins this is like poster LEGACY stated, Black Adam is ruthless and will go for the kill and he is not only a powerhouse, but also has magic. IIRC magic doesn't even effect him/

to your last bit. Adam is almost completely invulnerable to physical attacks. He has shown the will power to fight off telepaths as strong as manhunter.

On the other hand, magic is his only real weakness. It's not major considering his knowledge of magic but it would effect him more than any other form of attacks

Magic can't affect Black Adam in DC. That may not be true for Marvel since it's a different universe and magic is different there. Also being ruthless and going for the kill isn't gone give him the win. No proof that magic from Strange won't affect him.

That's not entirely correct.

Magic can affect him. It just takes extremely powerful magic to do so.

You said they could go back and get equipment if necessary. That means the gems. And only Namor needs to do that, to get the power gem and beat on Black Adam's face for stealing his look. Even if he doesn't get the gem, he can still put up a decent fight. Just have Namor punch him through a building, Bolt whisper in his ear, Xavier mess with his head, Stark hit him with some power inhibitors, Reed hit him with a frying pan, and Strange transports the now unconscious, temporarily powerless Black Adam into the Negative Zone or something.

No, it doesn't mean Gems. I would have specified that in the set up if i thought people needed me to, but i didn't. That would make it a boring stomp. Other than that, fair points, but would power inhibitors work on Adam? Are any of the Illuminati fast enough to hit him? Doesn't Adam have some telepathic defence?

Good points, and yes, Strange has access to whatever he's got at home. But no Gems. Or any other reality-altering-type shite.

Magic can affect him. It just takes extremely powerful magic to do so.

Magic like the kind Strange has..?

But the power gem doesn't alter reality?

Meh whatever.

reality-altering-type shite.

The Gems and anything similar to them.
