Guest Dinsdale Piranha
If there is a big gap in skill levels the smaller person can win. If the skill levels are close the advantage goes to the bigger person. Though in comics this real life rule does not always seem to apply.
Guest skadoosh
Maybe not a clear win. But the odds would be in his favor, in ten random fights I'd say he'd win 6 or 7 of them. Fair enough, i'm glad it's close. If this was the case there would be no need for weight classes in all full contact fighting sports. Yes, size does matter. Again, with my superior size I can hit you while you can't land a shot. If you don't think reach matters, you probably have never fought some one bigger than you. I never said size doesn't matter at all. I'm aware of it's importance in a fight, but: When the smaller person is more skilled than the big person, he could pull off a win. If there is a big gap in skill levels the smaller person can win. If the skill levels are close the advantage goes to the bigger person. Skill will always be the key to winning a fight. Size may matter, but quite simply not as much.

corvette1710
For example, a few years ago I consistently sparred all-out with a friend named Garrett. I always "won" (we couldn't pin each other but he admitted he'd have lost had we sparred longer). This is because I had the size advantage (height, weight, density, etc) by just a couple inches and fifteen pounds. So, that's to use an applied, real life example. Guest deojusto
Kareem Abdul Jabar was not known specifically for his kung fu abilities though. Mostly the whole Basketball thing. Plus I think this is Bruce Lee the man, not any of the fictional characters he played.
Guest force_echo
Bruce wins. See what I did there? Seriously though, I could go for some of these size arguments.
crzyrkrdd
Bruce lee was pretty quick, I'm not sure if the rumors are true that his movements were so quick that the camera couldn't keep up but I still believe Bruce can win. I don't think their strength levels are that far apart when it comes down to skill and speed, we need more feats from both characters instead of just stating mma advantages

comic_book_fan
i am debating skill vs size not batman vs bruce lee lee was good but wayne can hold his own with beings that can push planets out of skill he is impossibly skilled he beats lee not because his size but because his skill. comic_book_fan
And I am not refuting that. Hayes clearly said if you're 4 foot tall yet one of the best hand to hand combatants and you're fighting a 6-7 foot tall street fighter, the big guy will always win. That is what I'm refuting. Black Panther isn't 4 feet tall but he might as well be to the 25 foot tall Hank Pym, who is a street fighter.ersi wouldn't call pym a street fighter let us not forget that street fighters are still fighters ben grim or luke cage would be a good examples of a street fighters not pym. Guest Dinsdale Piranha
bruce lee once beat kreem abdul jabar 5'7 vs 7'1 it didn't matter there. It is a fight between fictional characters, but can tell us a little anyway. Bruce's character was obviously much faster and more skilled than Kareem's but Kareem dominated the first part of the fight. His reach was a very obvious advantage, allowing the slower big man to get in a lot of shots on the faster little guy. Bruce's character barely won that fight and was barely able to stand afterward. The only advantage Kareem's character had was size, but it was almost too much to overcome. Bruce is faster and more skilled than movie Batman, but the difference isn't huge. The bigger difference is in size and strength.
