treacherous
I remember that. Still, I'm under the impression that really Thor tips the scale. His strength in comparison. It would be like a squad of special ops fighting Wolverine. They are special ops, yes. But it's freakin Wolverine. Plus, there is good backup for Thor. He'd probably be hurt, but in the end... Damn comic characters and their over power'd-ness.
Guest sirmethos
True. Without Thor on the team, the scales would likely tip in favor of the monsters instead, with the Asgardians still having a chance of winning due to Hela, Loki and Enchantress. Hela seems to be kinda overlooked though, with her Time Control powers, and high-level magic.
Guest skadoosh
At the end of the movie he got a power boost from the humans that enabled him to blow off one of Kaiser Ghidorah's heads with a single blast. I'd guess that if was at least a x5 boost but that's just a guess. I appreciate the details, and while i do think that the Gods would get screwed up something fierce, i still think they win this. That's a pretty good analogy, and yeah, Thor and the other Gods are definitely coming out of this at least a bit scared. Damn comic characters and their over power'd-ness. They are often the more ridiculously powerful ones.
Guest Dinsdale Piranha
Okay, if Thor (with belt and rage) can lift 20,000,000 tons that makes him more than 1000 times stronger than my estimate of Godzilla. Thor wins effortlessly The other Asgardians are all less than 100 tonners. They are all killed.

Really, none of them even come close to Thor's physical strength? Why is that? Not all of his strength comes from the hammer and the belt, some of it is inherited, so surely his kin would have some level of super-duper strength..? They do have some super strength, it's just not above 100 tons. The reason for Thor being so powerful, is that he is a mix of Asgardian and Elder god, rather than a 'pure blood' Asgardian. treacherous
Uh oh...the gods of Asgard may have to meet up with... HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE!!!!
Guest Classic80s
At this moment, I'm actually leaning toward the Asgardian Gods. I don't know if any of them could take a full powered God Blast from Mjolnir, for example. BTW, (random thought) I bet Destoroyah could take out all those final wars monsters in one on one battle. Guest Dinsdale Piranha
On the other hand... When Marvel was doing a Godzilla comic, the Avengers took him on once and could barely handle him. Thor compared Godzilla to the Midgard Serpent and seemed roughly equal to him in strength. In a different battle, Hercules was able to topple Godzilla but it looked like it took a big effort. The Red Ronin, a massive robot designed by SHIELD to battle Godzilla, also gave the Avengers all they could handle. It looks like Marvel's opinion, Godzilla was a good match for Thor when they were handling him. It's also interesting to note that Marvel was doing this at a time when Godzilla was smaller and less powerful.
Guest Classic80s
Was that a God Blast? I mean, if he smacked Godzilla on the nose like he did to Cap's shield in the film, with a full powered God Blast, it seems like it would at the very least knock him on his big ass. Guest Dinsdale Piranha
I think this dates to before he had an attack called a god blast.
AVP vs The Terminator
I think Marvel just had their own take on Godzilla.
Guest Dinsdale Piranha
Do you think that Marvel thought that Godzilla could match Thor's million ton lift (or however much it is) even though that would mean he could lift more than 30 times his own weight? I don't see any evidence in the Godzilla series that this is true. I think it's because Marvel doesn't like to figure out how strong Thor is. When he has to fight the Thing he's a little stronger than the Thing. When he has to fight Godzilla, he's as strong as Godzilla. When he has to lift a million tons or move a planet or whatever, that's how strong he is. They're more interested in telling a good story than in logical consistency.
