Power Negation => Resistance.  No longer exists for a reason.

Self-Detonation => Concussive

Personal Domain => Irrelevant because it isn't Khazan

Matter Ingestion => composite of Binding (stuff them in your mouth), a defense power that works from the inside, and standard Decay (digest them)

Age Acceleration => Decay

Juggernaut Momentum => Berserk (while charging)

Skill Copy => I have a character in the pipeline who implements this with Mental Vampire

I think the problem with Power Negation and Resistances is it creates situations where a player may taken a fire resistance vs. a fire based character but the fire based character still wins because it's better written and people get butt hurt over it. I LIKE resistances because they can add flavor but they can also be created via other skills like energy absorbation

 

Skill Copy is something I've been hoping for a while

 

Personal domain SHOULD be a combo of powers

Resistances were removed due to technical issues if I remember right. It was a hassle to code the bit where the negated power didn't appear in the fight page or something like it used to be in the old FPL.

I liked Resistances and bringing those back would be nice. In some fashion, definitely not in the You Can't See That Section, Story Ruining form of the past. But just like as a defensive power.

 

Power Mimicry could be nice, if perhaps difficult to delineate in terms of Standard, Superior, Supreme.

 

Luck would be cool.

Some of the previous powers are getting removed and some (quite a few) new ones added.  But the main thing is that it can be changed as needs be.  Should be pretty easy to pop new powers in in the future. 

 

But whatever is in will need a link to a power in the Superpower Wiki  (which is no big deal since every power ever is in there and cross referenced).

I agree with self detonation, Momentum and age acceleration and I can see where you are going with skill copy (kinda).

As for Matter Ingestion, all that power combining could be avoided with Dimension Storage.

Personal Domain could be a combination of sensory, manipulation, beast control/necromancy powers.

Skill Copy and Power Negation are much like Chi powers in my mind. Its potential lies in the creator's hands.

Probability Manipulation has basically been assured.

Sure, resistances can make a comeback.

 

I wouldn't write any special code to deal with them though like in the past.  They can just sit on the character sheet as any other power.  Also the options for resistances will probably be limited to the user selecting a rank and then describe what the character resists.  I'm not going to put in special code in the character creator for it, besides it just being a Defense power.

What about Green Thumb? That's a power effect that might not really be anywhere.

Sure, as long as you can provide a link to a documented power in Wikia.  In the future I'm hoping to utilize Wikia's API to grab useful data (As I do now in the CBUB from Wikipedia).  Also I'm thinking I'll want to set-up an FPL Wiki on site here.

I already added Plant Life as an Elemental / Nature power to the character builder, yep.

Understandable, and I'm sure not everyone is going to agree with every power in there.  But the main thing is, whatever it is you are trying to create the character creator probably has you covered, and you can probably build a character in more than one way.

 

I do have my eye on making it easy for new FPL players to use and relate to.  And for a new player, Chi is shorthand for a couple of different things.  That makes it easy for a new player to get off the ground and get involved with a new character without having to work really had deciphering the inner meaning of of powers.

BTW, there is also one other Very Important factoid to remember about "Chi" and other powers that seem like they can be developed from different powers, and that is the return of Kit Classes for characters (which replaces the Origination trivia).

 

Character of a certain Kit get to buy certain powers more cheaply.  And Chi is a Martial Power and Martial Powers are the category of powers the "Senshi Kit" spends less on.

 

For a Senshi Kit character to have to try and buy what Chi does out of the Elemental Category would be very expensive.

Very expensive or just normal-expensive?

 

Powers outside your Kit powers cost at an interval of 3: 3,6,9 and finally 12 for Ultimate.

 

Powers inside your Kit powers cost at an interval of 2: 2,4,6 and 8 for Ultimate

 

You can conceivably take up to 10 points in Disadvantages so the maximum points a character could put into play on powers is 34.  And that's about what the "Cosmic" level characters could take in the just past version.
