Since there are no weapons in the melee spot, I think that Tiger will take this in close combat.

Here to play devils advocate guys! Overall Bronze tiger probably is more skilled on a technical scale, but there's a lot of factors that lend Boss to possibly not getting his ass owned. The dude's gone toe-to-toe with giant robots and a varied arrange of super soldiers(to name a few: The Boss and her Cobra Unit, Null(a young Gray Fox/Cyborg ninja), Col. Volgin, among others.

First off; given general melee or close rage(and the fact that subject delta was gladly entered here) I can probably stretch that Boss has a weapon or two he'd be likely to have. Given I think his best showing to date is Peace Walker, Boss' most likely to carry around either his custom M1911A1 .45 in combo(CQC style) with either a Rambo-style combat knife or a stun baton: at least in Snake Eater this is his main style and would definitely give him an edge. The other weapon (and gamechanger) would be his mentor's "patriot pistol": a Colt XM-16E1(prototype M16) with a cutdown barrel, stock, and 100 round drum mag. It's range is short, basically a machine pistol, but the thing's a damn beast. dodge that isn't so likely against unlimited ammo(or at least a drum mag if you don't want to accept Kojima's insane logic).

CQC is pretty much the Metal gear's go-to military/mixed martial art 3 onward. If the wiki for it is working for anyone(it's not for me) feel free to view that, but pretty much it was created by Boss and his mentor(The Boss)- and signs point to it being derived from various WW2 combatives, including Fairbarn/Sykes defendu which on paper is actually pretty impressive in of itself. Anyways, so in addition to the neutral position(handgun out with knife out as well) is a staple of snake's version of it, which in his words 'allows him switch between the two at a moments notice' and from there he can do a number of throws, hostage takings, and strikes which would probably lend to being awkward to a standard warrior. It's primarily used with very quick takedowns as to focus on multiple opponents. Unarmed combat is a lot more versatile, and throughout MGS 3 alone we see everything from roundhouse kicks, eye gouges, and judo flips. While the fact that it'd be a 20-40 year old style from B.T. the system is explicitly ahead of it's time and while him being a master fighter would allow Tiger to identify specific moves, Boss ain't no one-trick pony.

Sorry for the history lesson, just wanted to clarify a bit about what Big Boss will ideally be using in the fight; it wouldn't be an easy win but this is far from a stomp. Pretty much if he's allowed the patriot, then Tiger has a big problem on his hand, Boss is a crack shot of a military trained soldier and the rate of fire on the thing is quite formidable. The .45 handgun is less of an advantage, but if Tiger's fighting him and focuses on either the knife/baton or the gun singularly, he's in a position to feel the sting of the other. Unarmed, Tiger has the edge, but Snake's combat sense is far from dull and both fighters are peak human at best, the MGS verse isn't a pushover when it comes to pushing the limits on the term human. His 'sons' Liquid, Solid, an Solidus prove that, and as a minor example Snake went through the events of Operation Snake Eater with a broken elbow and at least one broken rib.

finally, if we take into account traps as said in the arena blurb Boss has a huge advantage there, being an ex-green Beret during Vietnam and facing traps in-game as early as Snake Eater. Plus the Fox/Foxhound regiment pretty much relied on being a cross between MacGyver and Rambo; which Boss does admirably. Tiger is definitely deserving of making the top 10 DC martial artists list, but I can't find any proof he's got anything other than good reflexes to ready him for that kind of variable. If this becomes an indirect battle, Snake/Boss' odds just went up.

PS: Out of curiosity, is this the fight w/ Deathstroke in question(scroll down till the scan shows up)? It's definitely impressive, but can't say much on it aside from got the upper-hand.

Bronze Tiger has the reflexes to disarm Snake before he even pulls the trigger. And once they get into close quarters combat, Tiger owns him.  I think we can put them at equal strength, but I believe that Tiger is faster, and will use superior skill and speed to beat Snake down.

Tiger has fought foes with better skill, gadgets, and weapons. Snake has nothing new that would catch Tiger off guard.
