This one seems too close. Kasumi certainly has all of the skills but Artemis is bound to use that genius intellect to make the traps work for him. Any takers of the team leaders for why one or the other is better at this?

Now, my knowledge of the books is rather rusty, but wasn't he hired to catch fugitives a couple times?

I think so or at least Opal was a fugitive from the fae society no? Regardless in terms of catching fugitives both of them have the skills to pull it off. I'm now curious of her level of dealing with traps as Artemis at least should be able to pinpoint where they are at and deal with them in some fashion.

In terms of traps, I'd assume it depends. Since Mass Effect is a futuristic genre; Kasumi's tatical cloak, decoys, and genius at hacking can give her the edge. Being able to easily recognize traps and secruity systems quickly and use her omni-tool to scan wired outlines, hack cameras, advertisment terminals, sneak her own belongings onto the Normandy (this included a couch, painting, and mini-bar), seemingly decent in psychology as she'd recognize the personality shifts between Samara and Mornith (as she and Kelly are the only ones who start to see it); and hack possibly any terminal. Possibly her best accomplishments were to use her own intellect to hack into the Collector computers to save her allies and seal a door (considering the Collectors never spoke to the outside world and seem to have their own language that she (or Tali or Legion) could apperently deciphered in seconds), and fake her death after saving the Hanar homeworld from the Reapers (or delay it from getting worse). This was also when a Salarian spectre was trying to find her; and Salarians are quite intelligent on their own. Overall, she has the technology advantage all packed in one gadget, is nimble enough to parkour her way up pipes and onto a gunship, and jump from said gunship from an impressive height and not be harmed.

I'd say in terms of physical conditioning, stealth, and intelligence, she MAY win this and find the target first; especially considering her stealth. Then again, I don't know who Artemis is and with her being a minor character, who knows.

Everything Kasumi has in Technology, Artemis has in magic. It's been a while since I've really read through the books. But if I remember correctly Artemis had a lot of stuff going for him beyond just being a genius. He had amazing hacking skills, deep knowledge of the magical undertones of his universe, a big butler who whooped untold kinds of ass.

I don't know Kasumi, but I reckon Artemis with his Smartphone can hack just as well as her with her OmniTool. If this fugitive is technological, it's a tossup. Either could win. If it's physical, I'd give it to Kasumi, I guess. Assuming Artemis can't use any backup. But I would allow him to use backup because its a pretty essential part of his character. If it's magical though, supernatural in any sense - Artemis owns this competition.
