Guest Ghost Tiger
Han Solo (armed with his modified blaster)and Chewie (armed with his Bowcaster) from the original Star Wars Trilogy vs. Kirk and Spock both armed with Phase Pistols from Star Trek (2009)
Guest Adam Safran
Phase Pistols are basically rapidfire pulse blasters that shoot otu small streams of plasma capable of injuring or stunning a target. They lack the stoppign power of earlier model phasers (we see people being hit and just dropping - earlier phasers would blast them into things and pretty much leave craters) and the disintegration capacity of TOS phasers (basically set it widebeam and do a sweep, disintegrate enemies all at once). In a hand to hand fight Han and Chewie win (Spock can't nerve pinch Chewie due to fur and msucle), Chewie is stronger than he is), and at a ranged fight.. Han is an ex-soldier and a veteran smuggler with a blaster pistol that's essentially the equivalent of a sawed off shotgun. Chewie is over two hundred eyars old and lived through several wars, and his bowcaster basically fires a railgun plasma bolt with the explosive power of a grenade. Assuming both teams are in a firefight and ducking and weaving for cover, Han is a -much- better shot than Kirk, same with Chewie, and their weapons can burn through cover and they have much better feats at hitting people in firefights that are dodging and such. Han and Chewie are much better shots, at this point in time -hideously- more experienced than tehir opponents, and their weaopns are -much- more powerful than the hand blasters that Kirk and Spock have. Guest Adam Safran
New MOvie Kirk lacks the experience of older Kirk. Old Kirk by thet ime he was a teenager had experienceout on the frontier (Kodos the Executioner) whereas New Kirk basically was a rebel in Iowa for his entire life that was a hideously gifted intellect who absorbed everything he could - but he seemed to coast on his abilities moreso than drive himself to the limit to maximize them. Every single fight in the new movie seemed to consist of him getting wailed on and winning by the skin of his teeth, a fluke, outside assistance.. He just doesn't have the fight record of older Kirk. I mean, older Kirk was 35 when he'd captained his starship and had plenty of experience, whereas New Kirk is literally a cadet straight out of the academy who got pumped up to Captain at Age.. 22 or 23 with no deep space experience previous to the maiden voyage of the Enterprise. He has a hideous lack of command and space experience compared to 'original' Kirk who at least had 10-15 years in Starfleet and served o things like the Farragut to compare to. Much less the fact that most of the Enterprise's command crew and department heads other than Spock were pretty much just academy students who were field commissioned in a state of emergency, whether they were more qualified than existing crew or not (like Uhura was). Scotty was a hideousyl gifted engineering student who never seemed to have served on a starship. Chekov was a 17 year old Ensign whom I'm not sure if had graduated or not or was field commissioned, but he's the only one of the 'new' crew who was actualyl an officer before being put on bridge duties. Han was a field commissioned officer from the Imperial Military Academy, and also had spent his entire lifetime pretty much living on the wrong side of the street and working the black market. he and Chewie are both military vets with plenty of combat experience (Chewie's been doing stuff for two hundred years or mroe). Much less their equipment superiority - phase pistols versus stuff that packs teh punch of a sawed off shotgun or RPG without the accuracy problems from kickback, as well as the two of them being very, very gifted shots. Guest Ghost Tiger
How much closer if it was an experienced Kirk/Spock team and they had full blown Phasers?
Guest Adam Safran
How much closer if it was an experienced Kirk/Spock team and they had full blown Phasers? Uhm.. That depends a LOT more on the scenario and setting then, since both teams are experienced at turning an environmetn to tehir advantage. Also, what 'era' of Kirk? Captain or Admiral Kirk? Guest Adam Safran
Uhm.. SLIGHT edge to Han and chewie as.. Well, Han has a lot of experience at beging in empty cargo bays/hangars and being shot at by people while trying to make a getaway.
Guest Austo191
I bet spock got made fun of as a kid. Do you know what rymes with Spock? He also has weird gremlin ears. Kirk's bad-ass. Han and Chewie are both bad-ass. So it's two bad-asses vs a bad-ass and a guy with a weird name. Solo and Chewie wins.
Guest Ghost Tiger
Actually in the movie Spock is way more badass....he kicks the heck outta kirk.
Guest Adam Safran
Uhm, Kirk's fighting record in the new movie was atrocious. He ended up either losing, getting dogpiled, or getting mauled about every single fight in the entire show.

AVP vs The Terminator
Except in the many ways SW is better.Of course, forgive me. SW wins out in the overrated-ness category. In terms of acting, plot, character development and just about everything that makes a story good, Star Trek is better.
