The crowd has returned to their seats, too excited for the start of the next round. Jim Ross's voice echos over the loudspeaker. Jim Ross: Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. WE ARE LIVE in the Grand Arena for the greatest spectacle in existence, The Grand Cross-Galactic Budokai Tenkaichi! The cheer from the crowd could be heard for miles. Fireworks mixed with thunder and lightening, signalling the official start of Round 2. JR: We are so glad to be back and thank you to all those watching at home. We know you've been waiting patiently for this round two kickoff and now all that waiting is about to pay off. I'm Jim Ross with my broadcast partners, Whiz and Boomstick. Take it away, fellas. Whiz: Thank you, JR. As he said I'm Whiz. Boomstick: And I'm Boomstick! It's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skill-- Whiz: Wrong show, Boomstick. This ISN'T Death Battle. THIS is Grand Cross-Galactic Budokai Tenkaichi. The Tournament of the Multiverse. Boomstick: That's a long and complicated name. Who came up with that? Whiz: That would be the Commission actually-- JR: Anyway boys, I'm glad you could join us. Anything to say about our competitors as they come out to the ring? Whiz: Well having watched their bouts in round one, there's no question who wins this battle. Boomstick: BLACK MANTA!!!! Whiz: Uhhh-- We'll just turn it back to you, Jim. JR: Alright then. Rey, the Jedi warrior from the recent Star Wars franchise, took on the Red Lantern leader Atrocitus. It was certainly a close battle but in the end, the Force was on her side. Her opponent standing before her is Black Manta. He bested his opponent last round with a combination of cunning and weaponry. It looks like he has repaired his armor from the last round and is ready to go here. Manta and Rey stand face off in the ring, rain falling from the open sky. Rey ignites her lightsaber and readys herself for battle. Manta doesn't move, but his eyes begin to grow. Before the gong can even sound to signal the start of the match, Manta blasts lasers from his eyes. Rey reacts just fast enough to avoid a direct hit. Rey: That's not fair! We haven't started yet! Black Manta: I saw the way you battle. You can attack someone without even touching them. I don't plan on letting you have that chance. Black Manta fires again, Rey blocks the laser with her lightsaber. The gong sounds. Round two begins. _______________________________________________________________________ Rey VS Black Manta Each combatant will have respected powers and equipment that they can carry into the ring. No outside help or influence. They have gained knowledge about each other's capabilities from watching the previous round. Tournament standard ring from Dragon Ball. If she can react to blasters with her lightsaber, she can react to Black Manta lasers too. Like, there's no way for Black Manta to win this. And not that it helps Black Manta's chances but just for clarity this is Rey after Rise of Skywalker. And my only guess to how she beat Atrocitus is that he underestimated her. Black Manta isn't going to make that mistake but I do see him as a weaker villain than Atrocitus so... The lasers won't be an issue and her lightsaber will cut through anything he has, but I don't think The Force is strong enough in her to crush his suit. Aquaman's far stronger than he looks. Yeah, thinking about it his suit is built to withstand a lot of pressure. Rey would really need to focus to match her Force grip into being as strong as deep sea pressure. I don't think she can.
