Too late to actually rebut now; I'm really just posting at this point to get past the posting bug and see the final vote. 

Admittedly, though, part of this is also getting around to responding to arguments I couldn't earlier.

Until then, and debatedly even then, there's no proof that Wanda could overpower something of Genie's power.

You just may be underestimating the cunning of a Genie. In Aladdin's universe, we've had Genies teleport their masters underwater to coerce them to use a wish, and, when their master wished for someone to be sealed away, left an opening for that person to escape. The main, lamp-bound Genie defintely has both the power and the imagination to come up with a way to "rig" a wish.

From what I've seen from trailers, I Dream of Jeannie was very close to the era Westview was referencing. Besides, what would be more escapist than adding a Genie?

To answer one thing at least, it's more Bewitched for the 60s era. I Dream of Jeannie does notget acknowledgement. Still disagree about genie though but what's done is done.
