Landon
They are close enough in overall abilities that either one could win on any given day. This. Batman and Captain America, when looked at from a non-fanboy/OMGBatgod perspective, are fairly even in terms of what they can do. Batman's smarter and has more toys while Captain America's stronger and faster due to the Super Soldier bit. Any rational comic book writer would make the fight even, and the only reason why either character would win is if a plot device made it necessary for one of the characters to win. IKA
I like Cap'n way more, but I think Bats wins. His toys put him slightly above the super soldier bit.
Guest ribbonz
Batman has mastered 127 different fighting skills im not sure about Cap though...... But it said that Batman always wins because Batman cheats
Marvel Man
Cap cheats too. As for this question, yes. Bats can beat Cap. ... If Cap was in a coma! Even then it'd be close...
treacherous
It's completely even for the reasons Landon gave, but I'll elaborate further: Cap makes up for lack of BatIntelligence with years of combat experience. He's much, much older than Bats.Bats makes up for lack of speed and strength with a plethora of weapons. Both are on the fly thinkersBoth are crafty (cheaters)Both know every damn fighting technique ever createdBoth fight super powered villains with nothing but a Shield/Cape/Utility belt and a Brain. This would be a battle of attrition which still wouldn't decide it. Cap probably has better stamina, but Bats will power wouldn't let him fall. Too tough. Guest Skeleton Guy
Bane is, basically, an evil version of Captain America. Batman beats Bane on a regular basis. Thus, Batman can beat Captain America.

Thus, Batman can beat Captain America.Bane is not an evil version of captain america. There are similarities but i dont think he is an evil version of him. And when Bane takes venom it sends him into a crazy rage so he cant think clearly. Also Bane has to rely on getting more and more venom where as captain america already has the strength cause of the super soldier serum. And captain america has had way more experience fighting so he will beat batman. And dont give me that crap about batman having mastered 127 fighting cause it doesnt matter. Cap wins

Guest Ivan
This is why CBUB gives me conniptions, because people who know even less than I do about comics argue like they know what they're talking about. Surely the more interesting discussion is "which way would ________ write it?" Fill in that blank with any popular comic writer who has penned both characters: Grant Morrison, Mark Waid, Kurt Busiek etc.
treacherous
That actually would be a good discussion. I would love to see the fight written by Garth Ennis.
Guest Skeleton Guy
CBUB originally wasn't about comics, it was about discussing who would win in a fight or contest. Modern posters are corrupting the original purpose of CBUB. Remember, originally, it wasn't even called "Comic Book Universe Battles". It was called "Callisto's Battle Circle". Guest Ivan
Skeleton guy knows not what he speaks. You're the only one "Corrupting" anything, and that thing is history. We're trying to improve the CBUB to the point where members grow beyond the version you have so much misplaced love for.

Marvel Man
How would Rob Liefeld write/draw that? They'd all fight using large and extremely bulky weapons. Batman, however, being unable to use a gun, would throw his down and be slaughtered by Captain America. Sadly, the victory would be bitter-sweet. Batman's badly proportioned head would not look as good on Cap's fireplace.

One martial arts style has weak points and strong points that can exploit the same on another style. So knowing a lot of styles does matter. Only two things really matter in a Real Fight, Striking and Grappling. Knowing only 5 martial arts would actually be better than 1337 martial arts if those 5 are some good ones, like Muay Thai, Jujitsu, Aikido, etc. A good Martial Artist combines all the good and throws out the bad. A Bad Martial Artist crams his head full of useless Kata and Forms.

Cap would probably floor Batman with one shot from his shield. So he does that, smack him with his shield.
Guest Dark Ranger X
What would that have to do with the purpose of the board, which is fights between characters? Cap would probably floor Batman with one shot from his shield. So he does that, smack him with his shield. You'd probably find that Batman would be agile enough to dodge any shield throw. That, and I can't see Cap fighting WITH his shield against Batman; not having the second arm free would be a massive hindrance. Remember, Bats is hardly a street-level fighter, so Cap would need the second arm to block, counter, re-direct, etc. Of all the times I've seen Batman/Cap fights in crossovers, they've been stalemates, and that's with no equipment. Just Bruce vs Steve Rogers. I do remember seeing one where Steve was eventually knocked out by a torrent of water forcing his head into a sewer grate or something. ...and before you Marvel fans whine or whatever, this is the same comic that Wolverine beat Lobo in hand to hand. So don't go saying "oh that's bs!" When all is said and done, It's as Landon said. They're both equal enough that only a plot device would decide a victor, and thinking anything else would be fanboyism.
